Everything as expected! Thanks Kate.
Really loved this apartment and its contemporary artwork/vinyl collection (not that I managed to dive into it). I loved mooching about Williamsburg and getting to know a completely different side to New York. Perfect for those that want to get out and explore. Check out Cafe Edna, 10 min walk from flat, worth the effort. Really nice experience and a world away from the hectic high rises of Manhattan. That said, taxi/trains to the island are great and cheap.
My room was awesome, and quiet. The loft is a luxury-style loft, and Kate and Pete were very nice. Having my own bathroom was a huge plus. There is central air/heat and wall to wall windows.
If you're a hard-core coffee drinker like me--they don't have a coffee maker so you will have to track to the nearest coffee house, which is a bit of a walk. Speaking of walking the train is a 10 min walk, and the street is somewhat desolate. It is safe, but it is NYC, and if you don't feel comfortable walking late at night, you may have to take cabs. I walked it--but I'm also an ex-New Yorker. I would totally recommend this place though. It was super nice--and comfortable.
I visited NYC again with work this December and chose to stay for a second time at Kate's place on Kingsland Ave. Both her & Pete were great, as before, and as relaxed and easy going as they were for my last trip. The room is ideal for kicking back and relaxing after busy days in Manhattan, the bed is comfortable and whole pad is very clean. As I've said before, it's just a short walk to Graham Ave, which I use for everything (laundry, breakfast/lunch/dinner & to pick up the L-train to head into Manhattan). Kate's place in Brooklyn has become a second home for me when visiting NYC and I would recommend it without hesitation.
Casa bellissima, Kate e suo marito stupendi!!! Le foto rispecchiano la realtà.
Beautiful flat, Kate and her husband great hosts. In real, the flat is even more beautiful. Really close to the subway
Piso increible, Kate y su marido han sido perfectos y en la realidad es piso es mucho mas bello. El metro ta muy cerca!!!
I really enjoyed my stay in Kate's beautiful sun-filled bedroom. The area was perfect for me. The "L" subway line was only a short walk, past cute shops and a great cafe. It's an emerging neighbourhood. Very safe and hip.
Very nice place to stay.. Cool comfy and very clean.. and quite near to the subway station.. I loved to stay here in Kate's place!
Kate's home is a great place to stay. She and her husband are very nice and friendly and there whenever assistance was needed. The room and the bathroom was clean and so is the whole appartment. The area around is nice and safe with lots of different options to kick a new day off before heading into the city of Manhattan, which is only a little train ride away. I do definetly recommend having dinner at Kate's restaurant in the East Village - been to different Spanish restaurants, but this was the one where the food really tasted like Barcelona and not like the typical US fried version of starters and main plates.
Staying at Kate's house was comfortable and location was great to get to Manhattan. The room itself was clean, warm and I felt relaxed there. The atmosphere at the house was quiet and easygoing. The house is approximately a 13 minute walk to the subway or there is a bus stop right outside which drops you outside the subway. There are supermarkets nearby and many nice restaurants. I would recommend this place to stay for convenience and comfort.
Lovely, well kept apartment and good size room with a large balcony. Kate and Petrit are great hosts - very non-intrusive and laid back. If you're into your vinyl you could spend hours looking through their gigantic record collection! Location-wise the apartment is not right in the thick of the action but only a 10 minute walk into the heart of Williamsburg. I can definitely recommend it.
