About This Listing
I'm so happy you are planning on visiting Kailua-Kona! This area has so much to offer! My home is located about one mile South of the Kailua-Kona village area, and 8 miles from the airport. We are 2 miles from the famous "Iron Man" finish line! This location is fabulous and really everything is a very 'doable" from here with out long drives. A day trip heading to the north is about 40-80 miles depending on your route, Volcano National Park is 90 miles South. To the east-side, (Hilo) it is a 2 hour drive.
If this is your first time to this magical island, do not be dismayed when you land on a huge barren lava field, I promise the majority of the island is lush and gorgeous! If you have a week or so here and IF the lava is flowing and you want to see it at night, you may want to stay one night on the other side the island, and enjoy sight seeing in that area heading back to Kona the following day. MOST of my guests prefer the Kona side and 97% of things you want to see and do are accessible from here with in an hours drive.
My complex has 2 pools, 2 hot tubs and is well maintained and nicely landscaped. The Dolphin Room is a smaller bedroom with a double bed, in a 3 bedroom, 2 bath ground floor condo. It is very clean, and bright. The room is painted white, with many tasteful pieces of Dolphin art, hard wood flooring, and has blue accent colors. There are ceiling fans in the bedroom and living room. There is a small fridge in the closet. You will share a bathroom with me, (and any of my personnel guests, which is seldom) and "we" keep it very clean. There may not be room for extra towels and toiletries in the bathroom so they need to come in and out with you, hair styling needs to be in your room as well. There is a great mirror! Also, I keep a few things under that bed and rarely need access, but would always ask first when I do. I have a relatively large patio with a gas grill and it is quite private. You have limited kitchen access for light meal preparation. I am very easy to talk with and I have all that one usually needs, like beach mats, coolers, boogie boards, beach towels, etc. There is beach access about 3 minutes away walking. Swim beach is 2 miles away. The limited bus sevice stops right in front of my complex too.
You would be a temporary 'roommate'. Usually it would just be you and who ever is in the master bedroom, (and that is typically a single person), and myself, but occasionally I will have a friend over or staying with me, and I have been known to sleep on the couch in that case! I am up late at night usually and up early in the morning, so this does not seem to create any problem.
I am metaphysical in nature, love being around like minded people. My passions are dancing, swimming with the wild Dolphins and cooking. Not a lot of "rules" here except to clean up well after yourself so the tiny ants don't come for a feeding, be considerate and no cigarette or cigar smoking please close to my place. (vapor cigarettes are fine) I have a washer/dryer and we line dry when possible. You can use the dryer if absolutely necessary. Power is very expensive here, so be aware please, fans off while away and lights off please.
I'm happy to point you in the "right" direction for affordable grocery shopping, points of interest and places to eat and dance! I have no TV! I do have WiFi. Please use headphones when possible. The patio is shared with guests.
There is a 50.00 security fee, which is refundable if there is no damage. Airbnb will return the security deposit to you unless I notify them with in 48 hours of damage.
I look forward to sharing "Aloha" with you.
Just a few "rules". Quiet time is after 10:00 PM until 8:00 AM. Voices really carry close to the ocean, so if you are enjoying the patio please speak softly if possible especially in the late evening. Please close the patio screen door tightly when coming in and out. I love the geckos, but I like them outside best! No smoking with in 50 feet of the condo. And most important, clean up after yourself in common areas. We have little ants who love any form of food. Keeping the counters wiped off, dished done, and food put away
keeps them pretty much away.
Please de-sand as much as possible, and I do have a hose on my patio. if you end up with some sand in the shower I appreciate wiping it out, it is horrible for plumbing! Thank you!
On the main road in Kona only 2 miles from all the action. The room is bright, clean bed comfortable and Cecily provides everything you need including fridge for needs in room Fast Free wifi and if you need a great snorkel experience she can help. I recommend this space and congratulate Cecily as a fabulous host.
Thankyou Cecily for a wonderful stay in your home. The room/space was clean, bright and comfortable. Cecily was very welcoming and helpful throughout my stay with lots of local information.
I would recommend this accommodation to Friends. Thank you again.
Cecily was the perfect host! The room itself is beautiful, the bed is very comfortable and Cecily had made up an exotic fruit bowl for me in the room. The room and the rest of the house was very clean and nice and cool. Cecily herself is such a wonderful host, she was so welcoming and gave me lots of tips for my stay. She is incredibly warm and friendly, you really could.not ask for a better host. The location is really good lots of shorline exits minutes away and only about a mile to the strip of restaurants and bars. I could not recommend staying here enough I will definitely be visiting again, thank you Cecily!
I traveled to Kona alone to rest and celebrate my new life as a single woman. I needed much rest, a safe place to stay and healthy food.
My prayers were answered by choosing "The Dolphon Room."
It was a sincere pleasure staying with my host Cecily. First, I will say she went out of her way to pick me up from the airport despite that fact that she wasn't feeling well. Then, I received even more great customer service as I was greeted with water, a lei and snacks to eat.
Her home is peaceful, quiet and beautiful. Her spirit and personality are even greater. She took time to show me the beautiful island, introduced me to her friends and helped me find a place to take yoga daily.
She's an excellent cook and I learned a lot just being in her kitchen. She's spiritually grounded, friendly and extremely thoughtful. I was offered extra things like her knapsack to travel to the beach, her purse when I realized I didn't bring one and she even picked up veggies for me from the farmers market. I felt like I made a friend more than experienced a host.
Anyone choosing this location and this host will get your money's worth and be extremely happy. This was my first time using Air BNB and because of my wonderful experience with Cecily, I will return to Kona to do an Iron Man and I will continue to use Air BnB.
This was my first experience using air bed and I was reticent at the thought of "shared" housing. Cecily dispelled that concern immediately upon our first contact. Staying at her comfortable, well appointed condo was the best move I made in having fun on the island of Kona. Cecily was primarily responsible for guiding me as to where to go and what to do and was gracious enough to take me out my first night on the Island.
Her demeanor is friendly and comfortable and did indeed take away all qualms I had regarding shared housing. The room was comfortable with a nice cool island breeze and the thoughtful amenities such as the cooler, umbrellas and other gear made my daily outings more comfortable without added expense.
Cecily is so thoughtful and kind. I highly recommend the Dolphin Room, it is indeed "the perfect Kona location!"

We had an incredible stay at Cecily's! She a wonderful, very welcoming host. She was very helpful on tips for places to go. Very friendly too, felt right at home. She is very well located, in a quiet secure place. A few steps from the beach! Very close to a the shops and restaurants in Kona. I would stay there anytime and definitely recommend staying there to everyone. A very good experience, thank you Cecily!
Staying at Cecily's was simply just awesome! She welcomed me so warmly at the airport with a flower necklace and made me feel at home right away. Her place is very nice, very clean, and very safe. The guests are allowed to use the community pool and I could even borrow some body boards and snorkeling equipment. Cecily happily showed me around and gave me tips on what to do and where to go. Her place is located right on alii drive which truly is the perfect location in kona. I would highly recommend this place to anybody who wants to have the greatest time in Kona! Mahalo for everything Cecily!

About the Host, Cecily
I am a happy hearted, conscience lady who likes to have fun! I am "dancing along to the songs of my soul" which is why I live in Kailua-Kona! This is the most amazing island. Such a variety of things to do and see. It is more laid back with less traffic than any other island, and has more to offer, (except big department stores, for that kind of shopping you want Honolulu)! My passion is cooking and entertaining, enjoying a passion fruit margarita on the patio with you or friends, dancing to the great local bands who performing just 1 mile down the road at great ocean side restaurants and bars, I love swimming with the wild Dolphins, and.... of course, going to my favorite beaches for sunning, playing in the waves and snorkeling. I am easy to talk to, please just ask if you need anything! I am known to have it! I am eager to give you my guidance to great places to eat, site see, the best farmers markets, fabulous Kona coffee, nightly entertainment and how to get to Costco! :)
Welcome to my humble sweet home.
