We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Lynn"s apartment in New York for our New Year's vacation. It was clean, warm, safe and located in a a very authentic New York neighbourhood with many restaurants, cafe's etc.
Evelyn was very gracious and helpful. We especially appreciated the flexibility to accommodate our late departure.
Our party of four stayed for 5 days and loved every minute!
We had no problem with our wifi.
Our experience was great. We stayed at Lynn's for 10 days. The ap. is exactly as it is shown. We were 4 adult people and we found it comfortable enough to sleep, have breakfast and take a shower daily. We left early in the mornings and came back after dinner, so we didn't need much more room. It is placed in a very nice and quiet neighborhood, with many bars and restaurants around (the busy St. Mark Pl. life at night is 5' walking). Subway stations are pretty far away but you can take the M14D bus (in the corner) to Union Square and switch with the subway. It doesn't take a long time and it's a good choice when you're tired or it's cold outside. Thanks to Evelyn for the tip!!! She was very kind and gentle. Linen was neat and so everything else (courtains, shower courtain and kitchen ware). We enjoyed NYC and we would recommend our friends / family to stay at Lynn's and of course we would like to come back!.
Nice neighborhood, and clean apartment with a comfortable bed. We enjoyed our stay!
Sweet apartment. Comfortable, quiet and very cozy. Lots of great restaurants and shops in the neighborhood. Very easy to walk to Soho and the galleries on the LES.
The pictures of the flat really show how the flat is.
The location is ok, even if the nearest subway station is a bit to walk. Although, when reached, it gives direct access to the city.
Nice neighborhood with bars, restaurants and shops nearby.
Wifi works alternately... U have to reconnect yourself regularly to stay connected.
I recommend the italian restaurant giano nearby on the 7th street, n°126.
Flat is tiny but well furnished and comfortable, located in one of the most live and coolest neighborhoods of manhattan, in the middle of alphabet city and midtown: full of bars, pubs, little shops and restaurants, always something goin' on every night!
Quiet when you need rest but full of things to do if you are in the mood. We really enjoyed our stay in lyn's apartment, just saw her the first day but knew she was totally available for everithing we could have needed. If you are looking for a place to stay, right between the lights and noise of midtown and a vibrating NY's nightlife, lyn's studio is the perfect match!
We stayed in Lynn's apartment for 19 nights and it was perfect for our needs - a clean, quiet (no street noise), decent sized apartment with good kitchen facilities so we could have breakfasts and the odd meal at night after a hard day exploring the sights of New York.
Please note that this place is not the Hilton (the Hilton costs $500+ per night). It is an old building that has seen better days but the apartment was spotlessly clean and the lovely Evelyn was quick to respond to any query that we had. The sloping floor just added to the charm. The tv and internet worked fine, the shower was good. The aircon was noisy but worked really well - after a while you don't notice the noise and think you are onboard a ship! Plus it blocks out the noise of the guests above who might have to rearrange things slightly in the apartment prior to sleeping (depending on how many people are there).
The apartment is on one of the best streets in the East Village/Alphabet City. Lots of hip shops and sophisticated restaurants just minutes away. The nearest subway is Astor Place which is a nice ten minute stroll - we never got tired of this walk as the area is so vibrant and interesting - it has a real community feel about it. We always felt completely safe walking about, even quite late at night after being out for dinner or listening to music.
All in all we would stay here again in a heartbeat.
Thank you Lynn and Evelyn.
The accommodations were less than desirable. The mattresses was nothing but springs, and rather uncomfortable, the toilet backed up multiple times while we were there, and the shower would vacillate between extremely hot and icy cold. In short: The apartment seemed to be operated as an unregulated hotel.
Last but not least, this apartment is listed as being in East Village, but was really located in Alphabet City.
