Airbnb suggests this...Enquire about availability. I am right here to respond to your questions. Send me a note.

Almost anything you can wish for in food or drink wise we can produce if you let us know and someone is helping me that day. We don't serve breakfast/lunch or dinner but for a small fee you are the boss. The kitchen is fully equipped so you are welcome to make whatever you want as well. Simple rules, everyone cleans up after themselves.

If you wish to use the services of the woman helping me, just ask me and I will set it up.
We charge a small fee.

She can shop for you. Cook the food you bought. Take you somewhere you need to
do something. Wash your sandals. Sew
something up. Anything to help. Going to the
market to get shrimp is fun.

I just need to program it so that all the guests
are happy and we are all in harmony. Think traveling now is all about the service. Giving guests the pampering they wish for.

I had someone come and cut my guests hair, mine too. Also arranged a pedicure here.
I had already gotten mine. A fabulous guy comes to the house and gives you a massage to remember. What else can we dream up ?

The weather is perfect here. After living all over the world the winters here after over 30 years never disappoint. Breeze off the water and perfect beach weather every day. The nights cool off to perfect for sleeping.

If you find the calendar booked for the dates you wish, try switching to one of the other rooms listed separately here. Any problems with booking and there have been some, just message me here and I will sort it out to your satisfaction.

Have had a lot of requests for one night. I have a 2 night minimum. So I have decided to take the one nighters for
an increase in the price per room. $15 more per room for one night. Helps with all the work it takes to get your room and the bathroom ready. We are still one of the least expensive andclean and comfortable places that rent in town. Most of the cheaper ones aren't close to town.

WIFI and cable TV if you wish to catch up on the news in English or watch a movie. And of course tons of spanish channels.

The fresh juices squeezed right there. The fruit and vegies coming in off the ranches. Tuesday is the day to shop for the week.

How far is it to the beach ? Walking out the front door you would get there in 15 or 20 minutes.

If you are a single woman or man not accustomed to Mexico this is a great safe way to start.

The house feels open and roomy. Big living room opening onto the kitchen and the dining table. Garden out front. Black wrought iron gates across the front. Patio out back with hooks for 2 more hammocks. Filtered water and hot water in tiled bathrooms. Comfy bedrooms to relax in after a busy day exploring the area. Close to the beach by walking or bus or taxi.

Taco stands, small shops, a local market place and restaurants are to be found within walking distance.
Easy to catch a bus 2 blocks from the house or a half a block if you wish to go the other way into town. Running all day to everywhere or connecting to another bus.

I think my place is unique because I really like having guests. As I have travelled for years of my life I have lived in other people's homes a lot. I think I make people feel welcome because they are.

Any questions and I will get right back to you.

Guest Access

You have access to the whole house. Every one has their own bedrooms and shares the rest of the home.

* Big eat in kitchen. If you wish to buy food and cook your own meals and use the kitchen we charge $ 5 a day.

* Comfy large living room with cable. Wifi throughout the house.

* Back patio with a comfy hammock and another big hammock and hammock chair in the hammock room inside.

* Laundry facilities off the kitchen. We charge $ 5 per wash and dry.

Interaction with Guests

As much or as little as you wish. When you arrive I make sure you are comfortable and settled in. If you have any questions or things you need solved I attend to those. This morning I have a guest who wishes to have her Iphone up and running here. So connecting her with someone who can do that today. If you read my reviews you will get a sense of my interactions with my guests.

The Neighborhood

* I love this area as it is middle class mexico. And it is full of little tiendas and taco stands and a market close by.
* To catch a bus from here is half a block or 2 blocks left, so easy to get around. The street I live on is about 30 plus years old and a lot of the families are related. The kids are playing out on the streets til late as the weather is perfect for it. If you are looking for what it feels like to live in a real Mexican neighbourhood, this is it.

* Easy to get to the beach and the restaurants and fancy shops downtown.

Getting around

* Yes the bus goes every where and is easy to catch one from this house. Half a block right or 2 blocks left from the front door.

* Or I can call a cab to come to the front door. Cabs to downtown are about 60 pesos or $5 US.

  • Heidi is a very cool lady and knows a lot about Mexico's customs and the area. the place is very clean and comfortable. Would definitely do it again!

  • Heidi is an incredible woman, and I'm so glad that fate brought me to her little hacienda.

I became very ill the day before I arrived, but with help from her pharmacist, I felt better in a matter of hours. Heidi's home is exactly as her profile shows--clean, open, and fully stocked. But what makes a stay with Heidi the most special is Heidi herself. She is full of stories and good advice, and she makes certain that you feel at home in her home. I highly recommend staying with her!

    Response from Heidi:

I just read his review and awwww so sweet. I had already written this but the guest must post first.
Another young cutie pie travelling by himself and loving it. Came south to me after being in a language school learning Spanish. He arrived with "rumbly tummy" so I sent him off to my favourite pharmacist Lena around the corner and she fixed him up right quick. Hope he loves the rest of his stay here in Mexico and returns. Also wish the best for him in his new career up north in San Fran.

  • Heidi was wonderful! I liked her a lot! So friendly, helpful and welcoming.
I also really enjoyed the neighborhood because there were no tourist and it felt like the real Mexico maybe rundown to some but in fact very safe and everyone was friendly there! You can walk to the water in about 15 or 20 minutes minutes.
The house is impeccably clean and very comfortable.
I can't wait to go back next winter and would recommend it to all!

    Response from Heidi:

Marie was really my guest. Ophelia is her daughter and made the reservation for her. And what a treat that was. Coming from Belgium originally where I went to finish my highschool late in my teens, it was fun to spend the week with such a happy soul. We hauled a table into her bedroom so that those dexterous hands of hers could spin out beautiful beaded jewellery. I hope Marie returns next year for a couple of weeks and we can continue laughing.

  • My favorite host! Heidi is such a kind lady who is chill and has great personality. Just as said on the door, me casa ea tu casa, we felt very homy at her place even though it was a short stay. The neighborhood was great with very kind local people who are always happy and smiley. We also loved the fish stand nearby! Thank you Heidi for hosting us and letting us play with Bijou (her puppy)!

    March 2014
    Response from Heidi:

Very young and in college travelling with her beau. They were so sweet to Bijou my new puppy and keen to see what was out there. They wanted to try something local so I sent them to a fish taco stand near the house that my guests have loved. They did as well and went back there again. Short but very sweet was their stay.

  • Just one night hanging out with Heidi but it made the rest of our stay in PV so much better. She gave us lots of great insights and suggestions for our first time here. Her home is incredibly comfortable. Easy bus ride or taxi to Los Muertos and the beach area.

    March 2014
    Response from Heidi:

Tori and Bob were great. Kind of blew thru here on their way to a spectac condo in the Marina. Arrived just in time for shrimp tacos that Brisa was making for my lunch. They do Airbnb up north so that was fun to see someone else's place and swap (website hidden). They had an excellent dinner at Le Patron which I had never heard of and kindly brought me a card. Hope they loved their stay here and come back to PV in the future.

  • What makes Heidi's place so great is Heidi, a warm and loving lady who is brimming with enthusiasm and optimism. Her home is very welcoming, full of gorgeous plants thriving in every nook and cranny. It made such a difference for us to have a knowledgeable guide to the area and all things Mexican. Spending time with other travelers is such a bonus too. We met Wendy and Vicki there and had some really fun adventures together and made some new friends too. Meeting some of the neighborhood children was a plus as well, Heidi is their second Mom, feeding them and offering them a warm safe place to visit. I was so impressed with all that Heidi has created, what an inspiration! Love you Heidi, Susan
Organic, real - the authentic Mexico interpreted through the eyes of a long time Canadian resident, matriarchal - Heidi’s kids - “Sweetie,” cozy, charming, sharing, knowledgeable, connected, engaging, quaint, accommodating, friendly, lovely pet Maltese dog that she took in two days before we left and now we want a Maltese too! Thanks Heidi for everything and hope to see you this summer. Wolf

    Response from Heidi:

Susan and Wolf just left yesterday and the house feels empty without them. I really hope to see them again. They were here for a few weeks and yet the time just flew by. They are both very gentle and kind. Easy to live with and happy together as best buds. Wolf was very funny in that he had to check everything with Susan first. I loved him for that. Guys need to do that more for a happy marriage. Hope they return some day. And months before they arrived they asked if they could bring something down. And I asked for the top of my wish list, a secondhand laptop for the kids and the house. And my wish came true. Wolf and Susan appeared with a 17 inch fabulous secondhand laptop. So my apple can go in for a tune up and new battery. So sweet and thoughtful. I wish we could clone them. And I hope they come and visit with me in Salt Spring Island this summer. Or I take a road trip and go and visit them...

  • Well I didn't spend much time at Heidi's but her place was wonderful. It was very clean and quiet and only a 10 min bus ride to the Malacon on 1 bus. I would definitely recommend Heidi's place to anyone!
Heidi was very helpful and sweet. I'm sure I'll see her in the future :)

    February 2014
    Response from Heidi:

The sweetest young straight guy I have met in a long time. Definately say Yes if he wishes to stay with you. Hardly saw him as the girls here in town snapped him up the first night. And so they should. Hope he comes back to stay with me again. He is welcome here.

  • At Heidi's you get a wonderfully eclectic mix of gracias Canadian hospitality and quirky Mexican reality. Nestled in a working class real-life neighborhood, you pass upholsterers, iron workers, mechanics, and tiny shops on your quick walk to the bus stop or the taco stand. From your kitchen you hear the trucks roll by calling out their wares: fruit, avocados, propane, mattresses, scrap metal...
Her welcoming home is completely open with glass-less windows from one end to the other, allowing the breeze to flow through and keep the whole house cool and pleasant. Our room was in the far end and we had an open window the width of the whole room to the garden patio outside. It was beautiful and gave the illusion of a much larger space.
The bed was very comfortable with lovely linens and fresh towels whenever we asked for them and there was more closet space then we could have ever used.
Heidi is one of the most interesting people we've ever met and totally engaging. With a background in the hospitality industry she knows how to keep an inn comfortable and clean and seems to do it effortlessly, although we were there long enough to get a glimpse of some of the hard work it takes to keep a home in the tropics free of the problems endemic to the area.
Heidi seems to know when to visit up a storm and when to leave her guests their private time. She has a wealth of information to share about the city and it's surrounds and drew countless maps for us as we hunted around the city for whatever we were after.
The walk to the bus took about 2 minutes and we never waited more than 5 minutes for one no matter where we were going--and we took the bus every day. It's a short ride to Viejo Vallarta, to Walmart, to Costco, to Centro--nothing seemed to be very far away and yet to step out your doorstep you would think you were miles from the glitz and glamour.
And the pampering! One evening we had pedicures by her friend who used to have a salon, and another morning we all three got haircuts by a stylist who came to the house. She knows everyone!
The neighborhood children that Heidi has befriended come by several evenings a week to say hello and get their hug. She feeds them, tells them stories, teaches them to say please and thank you and always, always to be honest. She is genuinely making a difference in their lives.
We felt safe, cared for and entertained the whole 3 weeks we were there and recommend it for anyone looking for an authenic experience of Mexico in a clean, safe, comfortable home.

    Response from Heidi:

Karen and Bob were a happy couple and fun to have as guests. They ventured out every day to explore and enjoy life around them. Traveling in a motorhome which I thought was adventurous. The roads here can be very rough and unrepaired. I hope the next leg of their long exodus is wonderful and full of new happenings. They were my first long stay this winter and it was fun. Karen and Bob came back with their friends and brought me a fabulous new Henkel knife. I love knives and my supply here is low on good ones. Very sweet. Thank you guys.

  • Heidi is a wonderful host. She speaks fluent Spanish & English so can help you with everything from giving directions to calling taxis. Her place is very clean with all the amenities from cold beer in the fridge to laundry facilities. And there is nothing more relaxing than laying in a hammock in her court yard. Situated in a authentic Mexican neighbourhood you are surrounded by taco stands and other places to eat as well as shops and a market. And the Mexicans here were so friendly. I had a fabulous time and can't wait to come.

    Response from Heidi:

That was fun. Sandy loved everything. Got her to go around the corner for tacos one night to Brenda's stand and she loved watching them make the tortillas in front of her. Also made friends with another taco vendor close by who grills fish and shrimp. She would eat there or pick it up and bring it here. Fit right in. Got on the taxi boat and went to Yelapa for the day and had lots of wonderful adventures. Positive and keen. Looking forward to seeing her when she returns shortly from more adventures.

  • It was nice to know Heidi , she is interestng person and very helpfull.
Effectivelly I had rain for all my stay in Puerto Vallarta wish is rare in this period of year , but I went to the beach every days !
The house is very clean and has all accommodations we can need .
Unfortunatelly is a bit far from beach and down town I had to take the bus everytime I needed to go downtown.
The house is a typical nice mexican one, with lot of open windows ( with no glasses ) wich is good when it's hot.
IIs located in an average - poor, typical mexican neighbourhood, not for people looking for the glamour touristic Puerto Valarta . Lol !
The expérience was good in général
I had a good stay and nice interesting conversations with Heidi !

    Response from Heidi:

Aniss blew in from Montreal where I was born. He speaks 4 languages so it was fun to try out my rusty french and yak with him in Spanish. Very sweet and easy to get along with. Poor soul as it started to rain when he got here and rained the whole time. No one here could ever remember it raining like that in December. He was a trooper though off downtown and swimming in the ocean every day regardless. Returning to 15 to 30 below in Montreal must have been tough. Oh and how could I forget, Aniss brought the sweetest gifts for my kids. He arrived after they had all left to stay with an aunt for the holidays. And reappeared after he left. I just gave out the dinosaur pencils and they loved the little Xmas bears and the candy. Thankyou Aniss for being so thoughtful. Hope you come back and meet them.

I have good people skills and my Dad had a resort hotel. So as a child I worked at differnent jobs there growing up. Now I love having guests in my home. Puerto Vallarta and the surrounding areas are outstanding when it comes to a winter vacation as the weather is unbelievable and consistantly fabulous. I am in my early 60's on the outside and still somewhat of a child within. Left home very young and travelled far and wide for years. Speak english, spanish and french. Love kids and gardening. Never married or had kids. My partner of over 30 years has been gone for 2 years now. Life seems to be about changes and realignment and charting fresh exciting courses. Let me know what you dream of doing while in and around Puerto Vallarta and I will do my utmost to help fulfill them. See you here I hope. Chao for now.
