The Space

This clean, open plan, private retreat is centrally located on a beautiful, lushly landscaped 4 acre organic farm with abundant colorful plantings of native fruits and vegetables. The home has a modern up-to-date kitchen and appliances. It is light, bright, and has a wonderful open feel.
You will sleep well on the Tempurpedic queen sized bed. In the evening, watch the sun set behind Kalalea, the 'Resting Goddess', from the porch. If conditions are right – rainbows abound!
This former pineapple plantation is located a short distance from the town of Anahola, and on the way to Hanalai. Five beautiful, world class beaches are within a 3-10 minute drive.
The owner/manager is accessible, and quickly responsive to guest's questions.

Perfect for a romantic couple and possibly one child.

We prefer 4-5 day or longer stays. If shorter times are desired, feel free to request.

  • The house was not quite we expected. It is a beautiful house on an amazing piece of property. My wife and I loved the views and all the tropical fruits that surrounded us. The people who worked on the property were awesome. They showed us how to open a coconut, showed us different plants, and explained some alternative medicinal uses for some plants. The kitchen is well equipped and the large flat screen TV was great to sit down to after a long day out. However, we did have a couple issues with the house. The number of bugs inside the house was frustrating and had a negative impact on our stay. We expected a fair number of bugs considering it is the tropics, a little more isolated on a farm, and has a large number of windows (with screens) left open to cool it down. Unfortunately, there were far more bugs than there should have been. They mostly came out at night, when we came back too. There were lots of termites flying around and landing on us while we ate or watched TV. They would also lose their wings all over the house. There were also these small black flying cockroach-like bugs that were congregated mostly near the skylight in the kitchen. I probably killed about 5-6 of those a day. Because those bugs were attracted to lights we would only leave lights on in the kitchen while we stayed in the dark on the couch/bed so they wouldn't come over to us. We had about 5 geckos wandering throughout the house, but in fairness we didn't mind them so much. There were a few spiders too who loved to leave webs over my wife's cosmetics in the bathroom overnight. The other problem aside from the bugs was the shower. It'd had some problems draining, but one day stopped draining entirely for over 24 hours. We discovered the hair catcher was so dirty/calcified that nothing could get through anymore and once we removed it the shower drained fine. Overall, I think the house is a good property but a few things needed to be dealt with before our stay to ensure a more pleasant experience.

Thank you for the feedback, Cody. We're glad you liked the property. There are no more bugs in the house! The termites who lose their wings and got inside the house happen once a year for about a week. We're sorry that you experienced them and we're not sure how they got in – no other bugs seem to. We just did another thorough de-bugging and there aren't be any issues with anything in there! Sorry about the shower, that is fixed also. I'm glad you enjoyed the property and hope you return! Really: we promise, no more bugs! : ))Eric Floyd

  • Awesome place! The hosts were very accommodating and the house was clean and well stocked with everything we needed. The location was nice, being central to Kapa'a and Hanalei. Quiet and comfortable with stunning views.

  • We had a wonderful stay at Eric's apartment. The location is beautiful and the apartment is well maintained. The kitchen is well equipped, which we appreciated. A perfect choice if you are looking for seclusion. Close enough to town and a good starting point to drive to north coast destinations.

  • What a great find! The house has a rustic feel though it doesn't sacrifice the amenities! Conveniently located on lush grounds, Eric's pad is a great home base. The pics do not do this place justice! Eric is a great host and is very knowledgeable. Hope to return soon.

  • Eric ‘s styling 4 acres is a great place to chill out, large flowering gardens and abundant fresh vegetables and fruit were readily available for us, remarkable views and accommodating ,close at hand on site owner/host Eric made our stay safe and enjoyable. The house is a top floor lending views of the garden and mountain, easy to book on Air B&B, easy to find once you figure out Kauai hwy mile markers .

Accessible garden and numerous fruit trees and flowers for the picking, ample fresh coconuts, a local farmer’s market and large new well stocked modern kitchen with gas [propane] stove were an unexpected added bonus, a big bed with soft sheets, plenty of towels and several adjustable fans,Our room was spotless, had loads of hot water, large ample beach towels that were . Netflix tv as well as free wifi and snorkel gear. You can hear the waves nearby.moon rise and moon sets clearly visible.

Really enjoyed staying at Anahola,it is what Hawai'i' is supposed to be-good vibes and no rush. Great energy in the neighbourhood, bring a camera...

  • We could not have loved the house or its location more. Eric was a wonderful host, taking the time to show us the intricacies of the property and to give us a tour of the beautiful paradise he's creating under the shadow of Kalalea Mountain. The house is located about 10 minutes by car from the town of Kapa'a where you can find groceries, gas, restaurants, etc. There are also several beaches and an oceanside biking/running path within 10-15 minutes. As others have stated, there is ample "natural music" starting very early. If you are someone who must have silence to sleep, you will be frustrated; however, we thought the huge louvred windows were the best part of the house and loved sleeping with the ocean breezes and waking to the morning chorus. The kitchen is well-stocked with utensils, pots, pans, dishes, etc. Eric provided regular towels, beach towels and linens, which was very thoughtful. Great experience!

  • The house and property are great and well maintained. Eric Floyd is extremely helpful to have as a host. The photos don't capture the true beauty and essence of the place, which made for a nice surprise. We loved eating fresh coconuts, avocados, and other fruits from the property. We really enjoyed it and would return in a heartbeat. Great central location, quiet, and great value for the price. We LOVED it!

  • We had a great stay here. The apartment was clean, well stocked, comfortable, and in a GREAT location. Eric had fresh fruits (avocados!!) for us on arrival. We were very happy to have stayed here. One note-- the roosters on Kauai are loud in the AM, be prepared and bring ear plugs. The plus side is that they get you up early to start your day and enjoy the island! On our last morning, Eric showed us a great place to take a run and watch the sunrise over the ocean. Such a treat!

  • Thanks Eric for being a super host. We really appreciated all the tips about local sights as well as the info about some of the cool stuff you have growing on your property (I had never heard of soursop or Surinam cherries before - who'd guess they taste so great). The house itself is wonderful and we have no negative comments at all. We loved eating breakfast and lunch on the lanai, as well as just relaxing whenever we were back at the house. It's in a great location for all the spots on the north and east shores, and the south side of Kauai is not too far away for day trips.

  • The house was great. The best part was probably the views from the lanai and the land at the property (thoughtfully made into a lush oasis)- made the tired moments at home on the island quite relaxing and exotic feeling. The kitchen is great and well stocked. There are alot fresh fruits and vegetables on the property that Eric generously offered (seemingly unlimited avocado this time of year). Location-wise- it's pretty central but nicely secluded from the hoards of tourists that congregate in the bigger towns. Eric is knowledgeable about the island and is willing to suggest his insights if interested.
