The Space

This clean, open plan, private retreat is centrally located on a beautiful, lushly landscaped 4 acre organic farm with abundant colorful plantings of native fruits and vegetables. The home has a modern up-to-date kitchen and appliances. It is light, bright, and has a wonderful open feel.
You will sleep well on the Tempurpedic queen sized bed. In the evening, watch the sun set behind Kalalea, the 'Resting Goddess', from the porch. If conditions are right – rainbows abound!
This former pineapple plantation is located a short distance from the town of Anahola, and on the way to Hanalai. Five beautiful, world class beaches are within a 3-10 minute drive.
The owner/manager is accessible, and quickly responsive to guest's questions.

Perfect for a romantic couple and possibly one child.

We prefer 4-5 day or longer stays. If shorter times are desired, feel free to request.

  • Thanks Eric for being a super host. We really appreciated all the tips about local sights as well as the info about some of the cool stuff you have growing on your property (I had never heard of soursop or Surinam cherries before - who'd guess they taste so great). The house itself is wonderful and we have no negative comments at all. We loved eating breakfast and lunch on the lanai, as well as just relaxing whenever we were back at the house. It's in a great location for all the spots on the north and east shores, and the south side of Kauai is not too far away for day trips.

  • The house was great. The best part was probably the views from the lanai and the land at the property (thoughtfully made into a lush oasis)- made the tired moments at home on the island quite relaxing and exotic feeling. The kitchen is great and well stocked. There are alot fresh fruits and vegetables on the property that Eric generously offered (seemingly unlimited avocado this time of year). Location-wise- it's pretty central but nicely secluded from the hoards of tourists that congregate in the bigger towns. Eric is knowledgeable about the island and is willing to suggest his insights if interested.

  • Great space to relax with a very nice kitchen. Very modern and comfortable house. A short drive to many things on the east side of the island and amazing plants on property if you are into tropical, edible plants.

  • Our stay at Floyd's was amazing! The view from the front deck is unreal and cannot be beat. The grounds are well kept yet I still felt like I was in the middle of nature. The house is very private and very well maintained. The interior of the house itself is beautiful. Everything in the house is brand new and modern, the pictures do not do it justice. Unfortunately we had to cut our trip short due to a family emergency, but I do plan on staying here again when I return to Kauai in the future. One thing to keep in mind is this house is on a fruit farm in the middle of a dense rainforest so, as expected, there are spiders hanging around right outside. They didn't come inside the house so this wasn't a problem for us, but some more urban people might not feel as comfortable. Also, it is not within walking distance of anything, so you will need to rent a car. If you want to avoid the touristy BS and experience an inspiring retreat among nature, you should stay here.

  • Fairly good location, about 8 miles to the nearest town and shopping for essentials. The house has some issues. The bathroom plumbing did not work well. The gate area was constantly covered by mud, where gravel could elliviate the problem.

    Response from Floyd:

    Thanks for the feedback!
Plumbing issues addressed and the tip on fresh gravel was a good one.
The excessive rains recently were a problem.
Come back and bring sunshine with you!

  • We had a lovely stay at Floyd's place. The room is spacious and beautiful, the bed very comfortable, the kitchen has plenty of counter space, and the view from the deck is awesome. Because one of us was recovering from an illness, we spent quite a lot of time there, relaxing on the deck and watching DVDs on the big screen TV at night. The grounds are quite big and full of fruit trees and edible plants, which we were able to sample on occasion. And there are some friendly cats, which was appreciated since the one of us recuperating from an illness was missing pets at home. The only down side was frequently barking neighborhood dogs and finicky plumbing. Mostly, it was just plain enjoyable. I would recommend staying here!

  • This house and its location are breathtaking- the pictures do not do it justice. My husband and I wanted a quiet getaway for our honeymoon, and we were not disappointed. The space is brand new, huge, yet still cozy. It's quiet, peaceful, lovely, and located close to everywhere we wanted to go. The kitchen was huge and we cooked a lot of our meals there: fresh fish from the local market, etc.. we felt like a part of the island! Eric was a wonderful host - he made everything so easy and provided us with travel tips, sunscreen, fresh linens, and even snorkel gear. We'll definitely be back! Thank you Eric!!!

Thanks folks, a pleasure having you here! Thanks for the things you got for the house and left for the use of others, also. That was very considerate and thoughtful. You are super-appreciated!!!!!

  • We had a great time at Eric's house for our honeymoon. Steve, the property manager, greeted us upon arrival. He is very nice and shared some local tips.

The house is spacious and super private. You feel like you're on your very own island! The house has everything you could need or want, and the location is perfect for getting to the north or south side of the island. We definitely recommend this place and hope to return soon!
