The house is on an island with no public transport to take you there. Hence depending on the sea ice the house may not be accessible at all between November and April.
An atmospheric log cabin on one of the 40,000 islands off the South Western coast of Finland. A 4km motorboat ride from a marina (Kasnäs) which is a 2,5 hours drive from the centre of Helsinki or the Helsinki airport.
There's a twice daily bus connection from Helsinki and the airport to Kasnäs.
The island is about 1000 metres long and 600 metres wide and is shared between 7 holiday homes, none of whom is visible from the house.
There are no roads on the forested island and the only way of access is by boat (private or taxi) or by foot/ski's during the winter months when the sea is frozen over.
The house consists of a large living room/kitchen space, 3 bedrooms (one with a separate entrance, a washroom with a hot water heater and a sauna. There is no running water but the rain and sea water is sufficient for washing and the drinking water can be picked up in containers from the marina.
Anyone renting this property must be a nature lover with an adventurous spirit.
An advanced knowledge of boating and good navigational/ map reading skills are necessary if the private motor boat is used as part of the rental.
