The space
The Villa “La Scuola” is a charming 19th century Villa situated on the unique estate of Montechiaro, an organic wine and oil farm currently managed by our family. This 150 hectare property in the Chianti hills is just 7 km from the medieval city of Siena and is characterized by stunning views, peacefulness and quietness immersed in a typical Tuscan landscape.
This gorgeous house seats in the middle of an olive grove, totally fenced with a large swimming pool fenced as well and spacious gardens and affords a wonderful view of the rolling hills of the countryside and vineyards. The house has two spacious outdoor terraces covered in roses, where you can dine on elegant teak tables and enjoy the barbecue,has also two kitchens so that the guests can cook different meals at the time :vegeterians, vegans, little children etc. The pool is situated 50 meters below the house and the garden, surrounded by many varieties of plants and flowers, with 10 pool beds and 2 large gazebos for those who prefer the shade in the olive grove the children can enjoy a wood house and all the amenities linked to it.
It is an ideal place both for couples wanting to enjoy a relaxing and romantic moment as well as for families with kids who will have the possibility to play outdoors undisturbed.
This beautiful home is large and will comfortably accommodate 10 people (5 bed rooms and five bathrooms). La Scuola inside is a luminous cozy and quiet house filled with all you need. A particular care has been given to the furniture and decoration of the rooms which bear witness to the diplomatic life of Marcello and Emanuela who collected paintings, sculptures, furniture and objects in many countries of the world amongst which Tanzania, Russia, Norway and Somalia. The restoration of the house was carefully designed to retain the original architectural features with vaulted ceilings, cotto pavers, and brickwork floors.
It is a location that can be appreciated in all seasons. In Spring you can enjoy the beautiful roses both climbing on the walls and flowering in the garden whilst in Summer you can listen to many concerts in the city of Siena and in the nearby hill towns organized by the very famous Accademia Musicale Chigiana, not forgetting that on the 2nd of July and 16th of August there is the Palio race, the stunning medieval feast fascinating and colorful. Autumn will present with wine and oil harvesting, short and long walks among fields and woods.The swimming pool is open from May1st to September 30th if requested in other dates we can agree for an extra payment.The heating if it is necessary will cost in Spring and Autumn Euro 40 per day, in Winter Euro 60.
