We live in a 150 year old converted barn. We have two bedrooms - a double and a single available - & guests have their own bathroom too. As a foodie, I am happy to throw in meals at additional cost. 10 mins from Luton airport, 5 mins from Hitchin.
We live in an original barn, which is 150 years old. It is very well located, 10 minutes by taxi from Luton airport and 5 minutes by car from Hitchin. It is less than 30 minutes by train to London St Pancras Station.
There is a double bedroom and a single bedroom. Guests have their own bathroom which includes a bath and a shower as well as a toilet. Guests have access to their own tv with dvd player. There is free wifi available
We are surrounded by beautiful countryside and your host, Kate, is a reiki healer who runs retreats from her home that include amazing home cooked food. There are fantastic hikes and you can borrow bikes if you wish to cycle in the area.
For an additional fee of £10 per head, Kate will provide you with a full cooked English breakfast.
Kate grew up abroad and has always enjoyed travelling and exploring other cultures. She speaks French and Spanish as well.
There is no smoking in the house and we prefer non-smokers. No pets allowed either.
Kate is a delightful person. She is highly intelligent and a pleasure to have a conversation with. She is very welcoming and we were invited to sit in the huge lounge to watch TV or talk. Kate drew us into her family!
The house is beautiful and fantastically well kept. We took both rooms and found the beds very comfy indeed.
There is easy parking away from the road as the house is in a small close. It's generally very quiet. Although the house is fairly close to the road it's not busy as it's in a very small village. It's location is very convenient for London and only a few minutes from Luton airport, although I didn't hear any aircraft noise at all.
Mornings can get a little busy with the children getting ready for school, but we didn't feel inconvenienced in any way.
Kate's rates are a litle higher than some - it's possible to stay locally for less, but if you like your home comforts Kate and her family will charm you.
Thanks Kate for looking after us!
Before we had children, my husband and I travelled all over the place. I love discovering new places and am always out exploring the place I am staying in. Now that our girls area bit older, it is my goal to travel again. My favourite places have been Patagonia because of its beauty and Cuba because as a Spanish speaker I was able to find out the perspectives of local people.
