Early 30's female working in the hospitality/tourism industry. I am a native New Yorker and can provide with all the information you need about NYC and its surrounding areas. I speak french, spanish and arabic so communication is never an issue. I am very social and enjoy cooking, traveling and meeting new people. I am always available to help you in anyway I can.
The greatest feature of the apartment aside from its pristine condition is its location. It lies in prime Lower East Side/Chinatown territory, known for its diverse community, vibrant nightlife and artistic sensibility. You can shop vintage designer looks at Tokio 7 and Cadillac's Castle. You are steps away from excellent restaurants and bars including Fat Radish, Beauty & Essex, Les Enfants Terribles, 'inoteca, Clinton Street Bakery and loads of excellent Chinese food.
There are many cute cafes and art gallerys just downstairs. There is also a 24 hour supermarket and pharmacy just a few blocks away.

We fully enjoyed our stay! The room was very clean and comfortable and we kept referring it as "home"! We did not have the pleasure of meeting Laila but (email hidden) in Eric, he was friendly and open to questions, he helped us with understanding the subway system and suggested a nice car service back to JFK. The neighborhood was easy to get around in and close to public transportation. All in all we loved this listing.
It was a great neighborhood with lots of nice restaurants and little stores. At a first clance the neighborhood seemed a bit shady but after a closer look it was a very friendly and safe neighborhood. Good transportation to the rest of Manhattan is close by. We didn't meet Laila but Eric took great care of us when we arrived and showed us around the block.
The room was nice and tidy and the bathroom as well. The bedroom window faces a small enclosed area on the back of the building and there is virtually no inlet of natural light in the bedroom. During hot days there was a bad smell from the area outside the window coming through the air conditioner.
The hosts were professional, welcoming. Laila was extremely proactive before the check in process. We had no problems with Eric at Checkin. Super helpful and extremely nice.
The room was very livable, and comfortable. The bathroom was clean and well appointed with an Air Conditioner. No circulation otherwise.
We were there for 2 nights and were out most of the time so we didnt get a chance to hang out much.
The neighborhood felt a little grungey and a lot of graffiti along with the Chinese shops made us a little uncomfortable initially. Their street is quite empty after 8 in the evening. But a couple blocks in either direction are great bars, and the Lower East Side nightlife is about 5-7 blocks away. Subway is great - East Broadway is a block away.
It was great that Eric has shown us the neighbourhood right after we arrived. There is a 24/7 supermarket nearby - very convenient. The sights of Lower Manhattan are very close - this allowed us to easily reach these by foot. But a metro station is also just around the corner. Thanks for letting us leave our luggage at the appartment on the last day. Thanks for everything - we had a lovely time in New York and in your apartment....
Above expectations. Neighborhood was great, Room was big. Had our own bathroom with toilet. even including good coffee and breakfast. Eric was very polite and helpful.
The Lower East Side has to be one of the best jumping off points for vacation in New York. This apartment is perfect for anyone who would like to experience a taste of the New York lifestyle.
I didn't meet Laila, but Eric (her roomie) took very good care of me. His intro tour (approx. six blocks) to the neighborhood was very helpful and with plenty of tips where to get good food/coffee etc.
The room was clean and quiete; it did get a bit stuffy when closed, as the windows could not be opened/no natural light. But with the AC and the humidifier very easy to regulate. It was great having my own private bathroom and being able to get breakfast in the kitchen with a Nespresso machine; very cool for people who want to have a good espresso and are used to European style coffee (stronger).
I would definitely stay here again!
I was travelling with two friends and we had a fantastic time in NYC. As Laila was travelling, her roommate Eric took care of everything and (email hidden). He showed us around the neighborhood and gave us some valuable recommendations. The apartment is on the border of Chinatown, was easy to get to, and had all the amenities we needed: breakfast, WiFi, Apple TV, and a private bath. The room featured a king size bed and an additional air matress to host the three of us. Perfect stay!
There was some communication issues but as soon as Laila realized her email didn't go through, she contacted me immediately and made sure my (email hidden) was enjoyable. Eric, her flatmate, was very friendly as well. He answered a lot of my questions about the city. I arrived a few hours earlier than their usual check-in time, but they were very understanding and let me leave my (email hidden) before I checked in. The room and bathroom were very clean. Location was very convenient as well - a short walk from a subway station.
it worked mainly very well; 3 things to mention - in the received information there was a wrong housenumber; the window of our room could not be opened; we were only in touch with Eric (he was very smart) - it was a pity not to meet Laila
