The Space

Aloha!

Welcome to Waikiki and welcome to this one bedroom penthouse, that is more than 40-floors above Honolulu, with a wide 180-degree view that overlooks the ocean and every structure within an eighth-mile. It offers an an especially wide ocean view from Waikiki Beach to Diamond Head. This is a private resident and not a hotel.

The bedroom has:
Two full-size beds,
Dresser w/mirror,
One nightstand w/lamp
A closet with hangers, iron and ironing board,
TV and DVD player.

The bathroom has:
Shower,
Two sinks w/mirror.

Living Room:
The microfiber couch is positioned in the path of the afternoon sun so it's perfect for impromptu afternoon naps. The living room has a separate thermostat so the AC in the living room can be regulated separately from the AC in the bedroom. All the windows in the unit open, so you can take in the cool Hawaiian breeze that easily flows through a corner condo.

Kitchen:
The kitchen is designed so you can sit and watch the ocean view from morning to sunset, and Oahu Ko'olau mountain range. There is a fire works show every Friday night at 7:45pm that you can view from the penthouse. The living room is comfortable with a microfiber couch, TV, Blu-ray player, with an assortment of the latest movies. There (email hidden) for mixing drinks in the living room (you provide the alcohol). You can relax in the hot bath located inside the penthouse where you can view the ocean, or the city lights at night. The washer and dryer are just outside your front door and are shared with one neighbor.

A large recreation deck with grills and picnic tables for guest use gives you plenty of room to host outdoor gatherings. The building has a pool for resident and guest use.

The building is also a hotel, so telling any taxi driver or shuttle driver the hotel name will always have them knowing where to go.

Walking time to nearby attractions:
0 minutes / In the lobby: breakfast restaurant, pizza pub ($1 drafts between 5pm and 6pm), sushi restaurant, convenience store, car rentals, arcade, asian message, 24-hour vending machines.
1 Minute: ABC (convenience) store, pharmacy, café, Ala Wai canal
3 Minutes: Another ABC store, café, lots of restaurants, bars, and lounges, Fort Derussy Park.
5 Minutes: Free street parking, grocery store, Starbucks, fashionable clothing stores
10 minutes: Convention Center, Waikiki nightlife,

Public Transit Options:
The bus stop on the same block has buses that go west, all the way to the airport terminal, as well as east toward Hanauma Bay.
Car rental agencies are on the ground floor.

Parking Options:
In-building parking is $20 (cash only) per 24 hours or $4 per hour.
Street parking is metered $4 per hour (free after 5:30pm and on weekends).
Very limited, but free and unmetered, street parking is within a 5 minute walk.

Once you arrive at the lobby you can use the pay phone to call me. I will come down to greet you in the main lobby and take you up to the penthouse. I will give you the keys and any information you may need to know.

Mahalo!

  • The listing looks like the photos, however it was smaller than I expected. Bathroom is older and plain, but overall a really nice view and great jacuzzi. It's located in an older, run-down building - the Hawaiian Monarch. Very convenient location - it was walking distance to just about everything in Honolulu - we only needed the car to visit the North Shore and Pearl Harbor. If you rent a car, parking at the building is $20/day, cash only.

  • Thanks Thomas,
The penthouse views were amazing. Found the grocery store a short walk away, A five minute walk to Hilton Hawaiian Village for shopping and the best beach.
Cream Pot café in lobby was a charming spot for breakfast. A surprising French theme with food that was as good to look at, as eat. Rented a Smart car from the nice attendant at entrance. We took it out to Hanauma Bay, great snorkeling. Do the hike to Manoa Falls, breathtaking sight. Only 20 Min. from condo. Wish we had a couple more days to explore.
Really enjoyed our stay. Pool and hot tub were nice and not crowded. Loved sitting in the spa in condo with the city lit up outside windows. The beds were very comfortable.
    Thanks, Bev and Abby

  • Thomas was very friendly and took the time to meet us personally and explain the features of the apartment. The view was amazing, especially at sunset. Good location. Nice to get your bearings when in Waikiki, as you can see a lot of it from the expansive windows! Very neat & tidy. Thanks again Thomas.

  • Thomas let us check in early and held our luggage late which was great. Place was clean enough but smaller than the pictures make it seem. Key card failed (probably my fault with my magnetic clip) and Thomas quickly responded. Great location only 10 min walk to the beach. The water was the biggest problem - 15deg temp swings every 5-20 seconds - very uncomfortable.

  • it have a good view. but in the bathroom the water temperature control is very hard. and its bedroom is so high. so... it is danger to my baby.
and..i am not happy. bcoz thomas tell me that my way using place is not good.
so I out two days early. and the parking lot system is not good.
and spa is operational failure.Overall, I was not satisfied.

  • Thomas is a great host. He met us and showed us the room and discussed any questions we had. He was readily available by text messaging.
His Penthouse has incredible views. The views from the from live up to the photos. Everything is immaculate, and the room is very comfortable. I would give it my highest recommendation if you are looking for an upscale place in Waikiki for a reasonable price. The location is very convenient. The 180 degree view is spectacular.

  • Didn't end up staying as the property wasn't up to a suitable standard.

About
I retired from the U S Coast Guard after 20 years of search and rescue. I attended Hawaii Pacific University for 3 years majoring in the field of Marine Biology. I moved to Japan for 5 years and then returned to Hawaii. Strangely as it sounds, at the age of 59 years old, I am a male single parent with a 10 year old son (half Japanese). My son and I enjoy living in Waikiki and going to the beach.
