  • Great location. Very small space. Wouldn't stay here again considering the price. Host pressured me into booking by telling me that she had another offer who wanted to book immediately. There was no hand soap, bar soap or paper towels in the kitchen. She did bring those over once I requested the items, but for this price I would hope that the basic accoutrements would be there.

    Response from Jennifer:

Kristie, thank you for your stay, and I appreciate your comments. Please let me clear some things up for future guests:

1, The pricing was the same as every other listing with the same amenities. It was at market value during the summer peak. I did no gauging, whatsoever... An ocean view apartment, one block from the water, is no less than $200 in August when you were here, and everything else was booked solid. With regards to pressuring you into booking, there WAS someone else who wanted the place, but your request came in first. I was simply offering you first option.
    2. The maid made a mistake of not leaving a roll of paper towels, once in 6 months. It was a simple oversight.
    3. Bar soap is not standard outside of hotel rooms.
4.There was hand soap in the bathroom.
    5. I rushed to get you these things at your time request of 8am, and also brought flowers & chocolate, and a thank you card to make good.
    6. EVERYONE else on this site has nothing but wonderful things to say about me, and my Studio.

  • My Son (12) and I just spent 9 days at this great place in Venice Beach. Jennifer was great to deal with (even though I never actually met her in person. We did all communication via text while I was there which worked great for me). She answered my many questions prior to my booking the place to ensure it was the right place for my me and my son for our vacation. The place is just as described with all the basic things that one needs to make a simple/basic meal etc. I am a picky eater so I brought some of my own things that I knew I couldn’t live without too. The location is the best since what we were looking for was to be close to the beach and shops and all the funky stuff that makes Venice Beach the coolest place around. It was kind of loud at night but to be expected given the great location. By night two we were used to it and slept great. The street parking was a bit of a struggle for me. I had to drive around what seemed like forever each time I we took the car someplace. I was always able to find something within a few blocks of the place at some point and even used the dog park parking (when it was avail) to put the car until later in the evening when I saw spots open up. Most of the time we walked everywhere so my car didn’t move much, which is what I like about the place. It’s close to everything!! Overall, the experience was great, house perfect and Jennifer was easy and great to deal with. I would rent from her again in a second and highly recommend this place! Thank you Jen!!

  • Location, Location, Location! We loved staying at Jennifer's place and she was awesome to deal with. Very responsive to our communications and helpful. We were in town for a wedding and needed an iron after traveling, Jennifer brought one right over. We loved staying at her place; it had a great vibe. The place is cute, the bed is comfy and the shower was hot. Being dog lovers, we enjoyed watching the dogs across the street in the dog park. The neighborhood is a little noisy - like any city apt in the heart of a bustling urban area but that is why you are staying in this part of town. We loved being a block from the ocean and close to the shops and awesome restaurants on Abbot Kinney. Walking the Canals in the morning was amazing. Everything is within a short walk from her place. Staying close to the ocean was key to beating the heat LA was experiencing - at least 10 to 15 degrees cooler than the rest of the city, We had no trouble finding street parking and almost always had the spot right in front of the building. Great Value, Great Location, Great Host. What's not to love?

  • My boyfriend and I stayed at Jennifers place very last minute after having a poor experience with the place we had originally booked, and she made sure it was spotless and ready for us quickly! It is a super cute apartment and has everything you need for your visit to LA. We had no trouble finding street parking overnight. Jennifer was a great communicator and made the experience effortless. Highly recommend!

  • My sister and her husband stayed at Jennifer's cozy studio when visiting. The location could not have been better and they were very comfortable in the space. They loved the ocean view from the kitchen and the cool sea breeze that made for very comfortable nights.
Jennifer was always very accessible and her home was very inviting. I hope to use her space anytime we have family in town!

  • Great little apartment, with a great location. It was the perfect spot to unwind, and Jennifer was very friendly and responsive.

  • This studio was a great place to stay. Sunny and cozy, and a block and a half to the beach. It's the place for a very easy and beach fun time.

    May 2013
  • We stayed at Jennifer's place for 3 days. The apt located just great - really 3 minutes from the beach and everything!! It's in the old historic building, so the room was tiny, but brickwall rules :)

There is a small kitchen with a stove and some kitchen stuff, coffee-cups (although without any coffee-maker :) - not enough for serious cooking, but ok is you stay only for couple days.

Coin wash in the basement - you don't have to go anywhere!

Overall we had a great time exploring Venice and Santa Monica! Jennifer was friendly and helpful. Recommend this apartment, but only for a short stay, because it looks too small for long-living.

    Response from Jennifer:

    Dear Aram,

I loved meeting and talking with you and your girlfriend about your travels. You guys are really sweet and Id have you back anytime.

To clear up a few points here on the apartment, just for future guests, its not available for long term booking, and Studios in general are always small. That is the nature of a studio apt. This one is no smaller different than the rest in Venice, except the fact it has a sizeable bathroom and kitchen, with all around views and yes, the exposed brick wall is very cool. :) There was a French Press coffee maker there for you, but I guess you didnt see it? There is also a great coffee shop just seconds away on the beach if you dont want to make your own! The kitchen has everything to cook with, and I cook a lot, so I made sure of it. I put in a gas stove and all the pots and pans, glassware a Studio apartment would need for two. I hope you guys come back after your trip to Australia! Hint hint. You gotta go!!! See you soon! And thanks again to you both.
