Amelie's home in Puerto Viejo was amazing. Set back a short distance from the main highway, you will never want to leave the house. It's a nature lovers dream escape. Spend some time in the hammock and you'll undoubtedly see the wildlife that surrounds you.

I always like to start off with what I love. Amelie's place is situated perfectly. While Puerto Viejo is lively and full of sights and sounds, the home is slightly off the path enough that it is perfectly quiet and the only sounds one hears at night is ones of nature: cicadas, animals rustling in the trees, and the neighborhood cat. When you arrive, you are welcomed into a private gated area which makes you feel very secure. When we opened the shutters in the morning, the scene was lush, green foliage, butterflies, hummingbirds. The feeling of openness makes one feel immediately at peace. I sat outside drinking tea and we ate at the picnic table on the porch every chance we had. All the rooms were impeccably clean and comfortable. Linens were perfectly white. The gauzy curtains around the bed were both functional and pretty. Fans provided needed breeze. Sleep was restful and undisturbed. If there is anything to offer for improvement, it would have been communication right before my arrival. We had some issues with our transportation and couldn't seem to get in touch. To future travelers: car rentals in Costa Rica are dubious. If you rent a car, make sure to contact the car rental company directly for an exact price, including car insurance as the price soars by 4-5 times the price which can be a shock if you're on a budget. Just be aware and your trip will be lovely. Amelie graciously offers other transportation options to get to her home and she offers bicycles to ride locally, as a courtesy. As for the home, we felt lucky to be there. There are plenty of hostels and hotels but there's nothing like having a home to come back to each day, especially if you have children. We are cooks so the cookware could be updated as all the non-stick pans had coating scrubbed off but other than that all utensils are there and extremely useful. We thank Amelie for such a lovely stay at her home. She was a wonderful host and clearly cares deeply for the environment and those who stay in this paradise.

The location is perfect because you don't need to have a car yet the area is still secluded. The house itself - the structure of being able to open up the rooms to the outdoors with a simple push of a button- was more than perfect. Also- Amelie is a kind and gracious hostess, she really is such a lovely person. I felt very lucky to stay in this airbnb.

This was a great home to kick back and relax in during our stay in Puerto Viejo. It was in a good location, not too bad of a walk or bike ride into town. It's nice to open the doors and relax while enjoying the sounds of nature.

Amelie's place was beautiful and easily walkable to Playa Cocles. We had a great time bike riding around town and enjoying the Carribean sea. The house was unique and had beautiful decor.

The place is beautiful! It looks exactly like the pictures. I'd highly recommend staying here. The communication with Claudine from check-in to checkout was great. I give this place 5/5 stars and two thumbs up!

The house and its location were absolutely amazing! We couldn't have asked for a better stay. The house was located in a quiet area but within walking/biking distance to nearby shops and beaches. Claudine was our point of contact for the trip and she was always available to answer any questions we had - she was such a pleasure to work with. She made sure all of our transportation needs were taken care of. We plan on visiting Puerto Viejo again and will definitely book this house!
