Located along the Yellow Breeches Creek, this Brownstone Inn is near Ski Roundtop and Messiah College, and is central to Harrisburg, Gettysburg, Hershey, and Carlisle. We have a total of 3 guest rooms, each with private baths, and this listing is for the ADAM’S ROOM only. There is NO full kitchen, but your stay includes a self-serve "lite fare" breakfast. Please click "Read more about the space" below for IMPORTANT information.

The space
Adam's Room has a queen bed, single bed, private bath, and will accommodate up to 3 guests. The single bed is "built-in", and suitable for a young adult or child.

Linens and towels are provided. Other room amenities include ceiling fans, flat-screen TV's, locking doors, central heat and air conditioning, and a dedicated internet connection. There is also easy parking for one vehicle - a second space can be reserved if available. Karen and Jared are also avid gardeners, and the grounds reflect years of TLC.

You can also book other rooms individually, or in groupings of 2 and 3. Simply search the internet for "MMIBB", and you will find links to our other AirBnB listings on the "Rooms & Availability" page of our website.

Our inn is NOT suitable for PETS or CHILDREN under 12. Absolutely NO parties or events are allowed.

Guest access
We live onsite with our dog, Mackie. The house was renovated to be an Inn, and the guest rooms and common areas are clearly separate from our quarters. However, we do SHARE COMMON AREAS with our guests, including the main entrance and foyer, dining room, front porches, bar, media room, garden areas, and the hot tub. With that said, we try hard to give our guests space, and we typically vacate common areas when our guests want to use them.

There is NO FULL-KITCHEN available to guests. There is a bar with a sink, microwave, mini-fridge, and ice maker, and guests have access to plates, glasses, utensils, and flatware. But COOKING IS NOT ALLOWED. There are many good restaurants close by, and guests are welcome to order in, or to bring their own prepared food if they have special dietary needs. We also provide a self-serve “lite fare” breakfast that includes breads, butter, cereals, yogurts, milk, juice, and more. There is a Keurig, a hot water pot, and an assortment of teas and coffee as well.

Other things to note
The day of your check-in, we will send you the pass code for our key-less entry. This will allow you to let yourself in if we are unable to greet you personally. You will also find a copy of our "Information & Self-Guided Tour" on your bed, which includes important information, and describes the areas and amenities that you have access to.

Location

Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, United States

We are located 10 miles south of Harrisburg, PA. Our close proximity to the intersections of routes 15, I-83 and I-76 make the historic and recreational sites of central Pennsylvania, as well as area businesses and attractions, easily accessible. We are two hours west of Philadelphia, 4 hours east of Pittsburgh, an hour north of Baltimore, and two hours north of DC. From our location, it is a 25 minute drive to Hershey, Gettysburg, York or Carlisle!

We sit in the rolling foothills of the Appalachian Mountains along the Yellow Breeches Creek, an officially designated Pennsylvania scenic river. The area is rural and offers the beauty and charm of a small farming community. However, we boarder RT 114, which is a popular commuter route. Weekends and holidays are quiet and peaceful, but mornings and afternoons during the work week can be very busy.

You can stay close to the inn and enjoy cycling, jogging, or walking our 2 plus mile nature trail that starts from our doorstep and includes the George and Rita Garstad Nature Trail in Lower Allen Community Park. Or, you can try your hand at trout fishing, tubing, or kayaking on the Yellow Breeches Creek. Picnic in the many area parks or just sit back, relax, and take it easy.

I am a very warm and friendly person with a great husband, two wonderful adult children and a happy life. I have a sweet therapy dog named Mackie that keeps me company in our gardens or on nature trails and varied walks along the creek. My husband, Jared, and I have run an inn in our home for over 20 years but now prefer the Airbnb option as hosts. Come stay with us and enjoy our lovely home, our gardens and our surrounding area...
