Carmen and her family were the best hosts! The home was exactly as she described, and conveniently located (short walking distance) to San Pedro market, Orion supermarket, Plaza San Francisco, and Plaza De Armas. We stayed for 2 nights before leaving for the 4-day Inka trail and returned again for another 2 nights. It was very hard to leave such a cute home and Carmen's generous hospitality.
Casa agradable y muy bien situada, está en el corazón del centro histórico. ¡ La acogida de Carmen es encantadora, gracias!
Maison agréable et très bien située, elle est au cœur du centre historique. L'accueil de Carmen est charmant, merci !
Pleasant and very well situated house, it is at the heart of the historic center. Carmen's welcome is charming, thank you!
We had a great time at Carmen's! She was so friendly and recommended great dinner and breakfast places. The house was clean and had everything we needed for our two night stay in Cusco. It is centrally located with an easy walk to plaza de Armas, cafes, and groceries. We will totally stay here again if we ever return to Cuzco!
Carmen and her father were warm and welcoming, and were happy to answer any questions. The location was a short, easy walk from the central part of town (and just half a block from a good food market), but was on a side street that got little traffic and was therefore quiet. The place is roomy and comfortable, though if you're not familiar with electric water heaters you should be sure to turn this one on well before you need hot water (maybe an hour ahead of time).
Carmen was a lovely host-she was a available when needed and not intrusive in any way. The location is perfect-San Pedro market at doorstep & a 5 minute walk to downtown. Apartment is spacious, clean, private & had everything we were looking for in Cusco. Thank you Carmen.
Carmen was so sweet and a great host. The home was walking distance to all the restaurants and attractions near Plaza de Armas. We very much enjoyed our stay!
Carmen was an excellent host, and made sure we had everything we needed. She even accommodated one of the members of our group, who had been flying all night and flew in that morning, by letting her check in early so she could rest. The location was fantastic, walking distance to everything and felt safe doing so (there were 4 girls in our group). Carmen's house was our altitude prep spot before heading out on our Inca Trek to Machu Picchu.
The only things I would point out for others looking at this spot...1st: the showers were luke warm for the first couple seconds then pretty much always cold, even after flipping the water heater switch and waiting 30min. We were headed out on the inca trail so we were ready for the lack of shower time, so it did not bother us. 2nd: the house was rather cold. Be prepared to wear most of your layers inside or snuggle up with the many blankets Carmen provides. 3rd: there always seemed to be ants on the kitchen counter. While others might think this gross...we just wiped them off...no biggie. All in all, for a basic spot in Cusco, I would highly recommend Carmen's holidays at home.
