Just eight miles from the Santa Fe Plaza in the historic Village of Cañada de Los Alamos. Nestled in the mountains, Cañada Village is home to both old New Mexico families and new arrivals providing an authentic and comfortable New Mexico experience for visitors.
Stay in the private and separate front half of a traditional adobe home with thick walls, wood ceilings and brick and tile floors. I live in the back half of the house. Living space includes fully equipped and stocked kitchen, table, chairs and a sofa. One Bedroom with double bed and flat screen TV. One full bathroom and washer dryer. Wifi. Linens and Towels. Laundry detergent and all basic bathroom needs are provided. Approximately 800 square feet of living space.
See photos for contemporary art and accents.
If you are interested in hiking or mountain biking the federal forest is just six miles from the house. Trails and old logging roads are excellent for biking.
You will need a car there is no public transportation, if you are a very strong biker you can get to town and back without a car.
The house was perfectly as advertised with an added feature: the stars can be seen so clearly. Kitty was an exceptional host and made sure I was comfortable. I'll gladly stay here again if the fates bring me through Santa Fe.
By far, my favorite Airbnb experience yet!! Kitty was an amazing host and a wonderful person to get to know. Her home is beautiful and has everything you would need. All around, a great experience!
Kitty's place was amazing in nearly every way. A unique and gorgeous spot at the end of a winding road above Santa Fe, it was a wonderful retreat each evening. Kitty was a great host-easy to chat with while also giving her guests space to enjoy themselves on the property. We probably had the most fun hanging with the pups and promptly fell in love with sweet Aster and goofy Koda. I wish I could leave the pic I took of them bc you would see their personalities in it. :) The absolute only criticism we have is that the bed was squeaky which was difficult for my restless sleeper partner. Otherwise, we were very happy with our experience and plan to return to Santa Fe and would definitely request Kitty's place. (Two notes: don't miss the Ten Thousand Waves spa and Harry's Roadhouse is a great spot right down the road for a casual meal!)
We found this to be a charming and cosy place out in the Santa Fe countryside. Town is about 8 minutes away? There were many trails and hiking paths in the nearby mountains...and the land, wind, and stars are just so beautiful.
Out host is relaxed yet savvy and made our stay simple and easy in every way. I can recommend this to anyone looking for a relaxing place to decamp and just soak in the atmosphere.
Beautiful place, inside and out. Katherine was gracious and accommodating. I especially appreciated how she had set the table for my girlfriend and I before we arrived. We'd have enjoyed spending more time there.
Katherine's place was wonderful. It is cozy and provides a convenient and comfortable space to work from. Located at a roughly 20min drive from Santa Fe proper, it is still close, yet perfect to retreat to and relax in. Highly recommend it for a relaxing stay.
Kitty's place is just the R&R we needed, after being in polluted Beijing. I loved that it felt like home immediately and felt a million miles away from civilization even though its only 8 miles as the crow flies from Santa Fe. Kitty has 2 great dogs and that ain't easy for a cat lover to say! I feel that Kitty is such a great hands off host and we could easily become friends with her. I would say this Kitty's place is for some serious relaxation away from the stress of city life. Canada de los alamos is a cool little village and I love the stars, the piñon and the air blowing through the trees and not a modern sound to destroy that beauty. 100% recommended. We will come back and stay with her. Thank You-Jonathan & Pan
Super cozy, and definitely Santa Fe! Kitty was incredibly nice and very accommodating. Definitely off the beaten path but not so far out of the way that you can't easily get to the city with a car.
I went up to santa fe for the evening to look at the night sky and enjoy some hiking- and I was lucky enough to fine this wonderful place, The house was lovely and very well organized, Katherine was a good communicator- and from her house a huge night sky and easy access to the national forest.
Staying at Katherine's home on the edge of Sante Fe was fantastic. It wasn't within walking distance to downtown, though it didn't matter - the home offered great comfort and a different experience of the city. Unfortunately we were in and out quickly to continue a road trip, but would have been glad to stay longer if it was possible. Before our visit, she offered many recommendations for things around the city and responded promptly to any questions. We'd be glad to book it again in the future and recommend it to friends.
