Apartment - Private room · Blessington Street, St Kilda, VIC 3182, Australia

Hey There! We're Paul & Justine. Thanks for taking a look at our place.

Quick facts! Our place has YOUR OWN bathroom, queen size bed (linens inc), fast Internet, washing machine & dryer, breakfasty stuff, secure parking and open minded Hosts. :)

The Space

Our place is central to all the great aspects of St Kilda living. Take a 2 minute walk you'll find yourself on iconic Acland Street where it's easy to shop, find great food, coffee and (website hidden) Kilda beach is a 5 minute walk away and the Veg Out St Kilda Farmers Market (1st Saturday of each month) is literally over the road.

The Kitchen
We provide a simple, healthy breakfast option of cereals, bread, milk and juice every day of your booking. Naturally there are great cafes over the road and around the corner down Acland St.

The kitchen is well appointed, modern and full of kitcheny stuff that you are allowed to respectfully use if you want to eat in on occassion. We are happy to carve out some room for you in the pantry and fridge.

The Room
Our study converts into a nice private space with a comfy queen size bed. We'll provide you with pillows, clean sheets and towels as one would expect. We have heating and cooling throughout and if you're feeling the chill I'm sure we can throw another doona (duvet) into the mix.

The Bathroom
Importantly you have your own with a good size bath / shower and all the usual hygenic bathroomy good stuff. Hot water is scorchingly hot, awesome. We have our own bathroom so you won't be rushed around at all.

The Rest
The lounge room is comfy and modern, you can open up the back sliding doors onto the private rear courtyard to let a nice breeze in. There is a park over the road if you wish to play some sport, read a book or get swooped by a magpie. :)

We have a big aircon unit in the lounge room that cools the entire place down very quickly... tops for the hotter months ahead. We'll also provide a pedestal fan for your room if it's warm also. We want our guests to be as comfortable as we are.

We are both non-smokers, happy for you to have a cigarette outside in the courtyard though if that's you're scene.

Guest Access

I work in IT so you can expect fast WIFI access no worries, we can also let you use our computer should you need to make any bookings. We have plenty of movies that you can watch on our TV should you be keen on a night in.

We provide a very functional and useful (not old and crap) laptop for you to use whilst you're with us. Having a proper computer available when looking to organise things is always handier and quicker than using smartphones and tablets etc.

We have a washer and dryer and would be happy to show you how to use it (big laundry 20m away if you want to have someone do it for you).

Interaction with Guests

If there could be a host couple that was a global traveller and power user of Airbnb we'd be that couple (well maybe!). We have over 35 stays on Airbnb and you can see feedback on me as a guest under my profile if you like.

Now that we've settled back into our place in St Kilda we've opened our doors to the larger Airbnb community and returning the favour (whilst enjoying meeting amazing people).

We are a young, active and easy going couple who enjoy all that is St Kilda. If you're travelling to Melbourne then we provide a great place to relax or have fun.

We live in our place and we really enjoy interacting with our Guests, expect to be treated like one of our good friends whilst you stay with us. This could include heading to the pub for a drink or two, trying out the latest local restaurant or coming to trivia night with us.

The Neighborhood

St Kilda is eclectic, vibrant, fun and full of interesting people right on our beautiful bay in Melbourne. In the hot weather you can enjoy the promenade and beaches by the water - a 5 minute walk from our Apartment.

We have Luna Park, great live music venues literally around the corner or down the road from our place.

You can find great food, drink and entertainment every day of the week. Justine and I will be super happy to help you maximise your experience of our wonderful Neighbourhood!

Getting around

If you're keen to head into the city you can easily jump on the 96 or 16 tram on Acland St and be there in 20 minutes. Coming in from the airport you have Taxi, Skybus + 96 Tram or FAPAS ( booked bus transfer directly to the corner of our road). We're easy to reach with lots of options.

The Melbourne transit system (trams, trains and buses) use the Myki system - we provide you with a Myki swipe card (or two) on arrival, we don't know how much is loaded up on it (as we provide them for guests only on an honour system) but they're easily topped up and you save a few dollars not needing to buy one (every bit helps).

We also have spare, secure car parks underneath so if you need to park a car... easy!

The Melbourne Bike Share system is a quick 5 minute walk from us and it's pretty great for riding around the bay and into the city.

Other Things to Note

We occasionally have our dog, Nellie stay with us. She's lovely, friendly, quiet and like all dogs may request a pat if you show her some love. We'll let you know if she's with us if you send a query through just to check your comfort levels etc.

We're keen to make your stay with us a supremely positive experience. Drop me a message with any queries and maybe we'll see you in the neighbourhood soon!

  • staying at Paul's was like staying at old buddy's place. great, spacious apartment, delicious coffee (thank you Paul)), comfortable high speed web access, perfect location (quiet, yet within arm length access to all needed, cafes, shops, beach, Ironman finish line). Paul and Justine, thank you so much, you made my travel to Australia a great memory to last a lifetime!

  • The description of everything was accurate. Very well located, near the beach and lots of good cafes and restaurants. Easy tram ride to the City. Thanks Paul and Justine

  • Loved staying with Paul and Justine! They are both warm, wonderful hosts. They do so many little thoughtful things to make your stay as comfortable and convenient as possible. A beer when we walked in the door, and Tim tams on the pillow - and we immediately felt at home! As relatively new airbnbers we were totally inspired to do it more and more! Thank you Paul and Justine!

  • Our stay with Paul and Justine was great. They are both wonderful people and were crucial in making our move to Melbourne a welcoming one. Their apt is beautiful located in a relaxed area with little traffic and lots of birds to hear and see from the park across the street. Always great to hang out in St Kilda's atmosphere and to take a walk along the beach. Beautiful sunsets! And still, easy convenient transport to everywhere.
The room is a small studio room but Paul and Justine did great in helping us to store our staff in different places. We were able to hang out in the social areas and cook in the kitchen feeling comfortable about it.
In all a great stay. And even though we were very happy to have found our own home we were quite sad to leave their space and its surroundings.

  • Paul and Justine are really lovely, warm people and we clicked straightaway. They were very generous with sharing their house and kitchen equipments with us. Paul taught my husband how to use his wonderful coffee machine. Nothing was too difficult for them. They held mail for us, gave us directions how to get about St.Kilda....the list is very long. For first timers to Melbourne, you cannot go wrong with this property. Paul, thanks for everything. You made our visit to Melbourne so special!

  • We enjoyed our stay very much. Paul and Justine are perfect hosts and we felt really at home. Highly recommended for an awesome holyday in Melbourne.

  • I stayed with Paul and Justine from 15 January, 2014 to 27 January, 2014 during the Australian Open tennis tournament. They both are very friendly accommodative couple. Their home is very centrally located in St. Kilda within a few minutes walk to tram #96 which goes to the Melbourne CBD (Downtown for North Americans) directly. The biggest plus point is having your own bathroom adjacent to the bedroom and also the use of their kitchen and utensils. Coles and Woolworths supermarkets are within walking distance and there are are a number of very good gelato shops nearby. For vegetarians there are a couple of very good restaurants nearby. In a nutshell I thoroughly enjoyed staying with Paul and Justine.

  • Simply said - Paul and Justine were excellent hosts! Widely traveled and devoted users of Airbnb themselves, Paul and Justin know how to make you feel at home. Had a lovely time chatting with them - especially remember them sharing their travel adventures. Pretty cool if you are ever on the subject. They also had the best recommendations for things to do/eat/see around Melbourne, not one of them failed to impress!

Apartment is great, located conveniently and missing absolutely nothing. I'd highly recommend anyone staying with Paul and Justine.

  • Paul and Justine were lovely hosts. Paul spent a lot of time telling us about all the best places to get coffees, meals and drinks - and there are lots of fantastic places within a few minutes walk away. The apartment is really in the best location, so close to everything in St Kilda and the tram directly into the city. Would definitely stay here again!

  • I was there in Melbourne for business and staying at Paul's place in St. Kilda was an EXCELLENT choice! The place is clean, convenient to so many places via the "tram"or renting a bicycle along the beach front. The place is very comfortable and clean. Paul is an excellent host and very helpful in getting to know the (website hidden). Kilda is a must to stay if you want to get to know a little of what is outside the busy city. It's a groovy place with exceptional food! I definitely wold stay there again.
