The space

Double room with king size bed. Wake up to a stroll or bike ride in the park, explore the river or walk into town for some shopping. A relaxed home in one of London's nicest neighborhoods. Its also pretty quiet!

Depending on your needs, we can offer a double bedroom or a single bedroom. My place is located on the edge of Richmond Park, in a very quiet road, close to Sheen woods with easy access into the park. Great for bike rides, walking in nature, and generally enjoying lush green outdoors whilst still being very close to London. The train station, where you can take the tube or overland trains, is a 15 minute walk or 5 minute journey by bus. The bus route is 2 minutes from our front door. If you want to stay local, wander down to the river front and take tea at Petersham Nurseries. As the owner occupier, I will be your host. I work from home so am best suited to guests who are out and about during the day.

I generally only accept bookings from people with a fully completed profile with reviews and references. Please do not request to stay here if you are a smoker. Thank you.

Liz and her room are fantastic! I was only able to stay one night but wished it were longer. Right next to the beautiful Richmond Park and close to the tube. Liz is very warm and welcoming and very accommodating.

Liz was a fantastic host! She was very helpful in terms of any information my friend and I needed and very accommodating. We only stayed for a night, but her house was very comfortable and clean and it was a great way to begin our stay in the UK. I would recommend her place for anyone looking for a nice room and a kind host.

Lovely location in a quiet area literally across the street from Richmond Park, as well as a short walk from the river and an easy 1-mile walk from Richmond Station. Bedroom clean and comfy with lots of storage space and a view over the garden and park's trees. Liz was friendly and accommodating.

Too many rules & too expensive. The host changed the arrival time after we booked to 9am. When we arrived we were told that she was leaving the house at 9:15 and we would not have a key or access to the house until the afternoon. After a discussion, we were given a spare key as we needed the room to get ready for a wedding later that day. The bedroom is nice enough, the curtains are very thin and let a lot of light in. The bathroom is shared and not the cleanest. The kitchen is small but accessible to guests, wouldn't have wanted to cook with too many people there. Car parking is good & free! Nice location, quite a walk to Richmond town/river (over 35 mins).

My greatest cause for concern with this listing was that the photographs show a lounge being available and there isn't one available as the host sleeps in the lounge. This made me feel like a prisoner in my room. I found this to be a significant misrepresentation of the facilities available. The kitchen is small and does not accommodate more than one person preparing food at the same time so there was a feeling of having to be quick in the kitchen so the host was able to have access. There is no microwave which was inconvenient and there is no tumble dryer so linen had to be spread across the bed to dry. The garden was extremely overgrown and uncared for. There was a sprouting sweet potato that was left on the kitchen window sill for over two weeks and there was food left sitting in the sink on a regular basis which was extremely offensive. There were a number of wooden planks in the entrance hall which made it look like a construction site. There is no breakfast facility at all. For what was being offered this listing is seriously overpriced.

Response from Liz:
My listing clearly states the living room is not available to guests. Unfortunately I discovered you did not read this or any of the guidelines, known on Airbnb as house rules. This is why during your stay here you disregarded all of them. When guests arrive here I also take them through an introduction to the house and facilities, which I also did with you and your sister who was dropping you off. I explained everything again in person. As I was working 11 hour days during your stay including most weekends, I am not sure how you felt the need to rush in the kitchen as no one else was home. Whilst I had another guest, she often didn't come in till very late in the night. When I am here however, guests and I often hang out in the kitchen, in fact we have cooked together and eaten together lots of times, and we can fit 5 around the table in the kitchen, which is tight but can be done. I keep the kitchen pretty spotless and there is only one occasion when the night before you left, I rushed out unexpectedly after washing up and couldn't see for the soap suds, when I came back I cleaned it up. It is standard on Airbnb that guests provide their own food, no where in my listing do I suggest that I provide breakfast. I showed and offered you tea and coffee facilities. As for the price, given the location and demand in this area, a much smaller hotel room without a living room and no facilities to prepare your own food would cost you a minimum of £89 per night. Comparatively my listing is cheap and on a par with other listings in the area. As a host I was very concerned and uncomfortable that you disregarded the details of my listing, including the check out time, entered my private space, rearranged the content of my kitchen on your first day here with your sister whilst I was out, and refused to return my keys at check out time in order that you could return at a time to suit you to collect your luggage, and then proceeded to attempt to intimidate me by saying you were working for Airbnb. That type of behavior in someones home to me is not acceptable. It indicates a level of negative self entitled expectation that is better suited to hotel guests than guests I normally have the pleasure to host on Airbnb.
