Overall Guest Satisfaction

Check In
  • Overall I had a good stay at Erik's place. He was very welcoming and receptive and friendly. The other guests in the dorm were mostly world travelers. The neighborhood is nice and has convenient shopping and trails and if you work at EA right across the street.

Space can be a little tight but if you can handle a dorm like setup this works well.

  • I had a really pleasant stay at Erik's - he's a great host and extremely flexible. The apartment is across the street from a small shopping plaza for all of your immediate needs (food & banking), and a short 20-minute walk or 5-minute bus ride from the San Carlos CalTrain.

Check-In is pretty informal. I will say that I was surprised by the number of people living there, but if you need a quick place to crash for an important meeting, it's perfect. Everything in the post is true to description - fully stocked kitchen, in-unit laundry, and community hot tub.

    You are awesome!!!

  • This is a great place to stay. If I were staying in the general Bay Area I'd consider staying here longer. As long as you don't mind sharing a living room with a handful of others, it is pretty great. You're not in the city, but it's a train or car ride away. Near this airbnb is a grocery close enough to walk to in a minute and there is a cool bike/walking path down along the bay. Eirik is a really nice guy and keeps the place clean/stocked with toilet paper, etc...

  • Erik is a very nice guy, too much easy going !
The house is not as the pictures, the furnitures were removed for the beds.
I stayed there for a week, nice people, house cleaned almost everyday.
I recommend and i'd stay there again with no problems.

  • Fine if you're ok with a lot of people in

  • DO NOT STAY HERE!!! The pictures are extremely misleading as there are about 10 mattresses in the living room displayed. The bathroom is dirty, so is the kitchen, and there are people sleeping side by side. When I first walked in I thought I was in a human trafficking center.

After several emails back and forth, Erik was finally ok with keeping the cat away from my stuff as I have allergies. However, there was one dude that has a breathing machine that is as loud as an aircraft and he lights it up during sleeping hours. That dude has spent about a year in the house as well. I lefts 2 days into the reservation and lost my money for the rest of my stay. When I talked to Erik about it, he offered me ear plugs. I thought he was joking for a second, but he was not. I would chip in an extra 10-15 dollars a night and stay somewhere where I can actually sleep and use the bathrooms comfortably. I forget to mention I woke up on the ground because the inflatable mattress was damaged.

  • Easy night's stay

  • I was pleasantly surprised by the hospitality shown to me by Erik and the rest of the his guests. You have to be aware of the fact that there will be multiple people sharing the space with you, but if you give it a chance, I guarantee you'll enjoy your stay. The location is extremely convenient as it is 200 ft away from a large grocery store. It is also within walking distance of the Caltrain which makes it really accessible. Erik is a great guy. He's extremely helpful and very flexible when you need a little extra assistace. He even took me to a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu class with him when he found out that I was an enthusiast. I would recommend Erik's place any day!

  • I think Erik is generally a good guy and the place in Redwood Shores is a nice suburban apartment area. I was a bit surprised at the number of people staying at the apartment though - upward of 10 guys in the living room next to each other in air mattresses. I was told that they are professionals and academics but I had no idea who they are personally. Sleeping so closely next to strangers in a shared room seemed a bit uncomfortable to me and I opted to pay more for the individual rooms in the end. I did not want to deal with guys snoring etc at night. The separate rooms were fine and I did not have any problem. The mattresses are a bit soft for my taste. The good part was also the proximity to 101 freeway and the walking distance to the nearby supermarket.

  • Wow what a place. Eric is a nice guy. I met him at check in. Although I should have looked at the place more carefully. It was many people sleeping on air mattresses in the main room. Fun conversations and good people.

I'll try nearly anything once; I am a 43 y/o adventurous spirit. I've gone bungee jumping, bridge walking, and rock climbing. I enjoy swimming, tennis, basketball and jui jitsu. I bring warmth to those around me and extend myself when others need a hand. I believe attracting positive things to my life is a result of sharing my positive energy with others. I've been dedicated to my career in public health - psychology. My early affinity for helping others, as my mom says, developed when I was very young. The large family that I hail from weren't much help in deterring me away from a career in helping others either. Since eligible to work at the age of 16, I've held some type of job in public health that I fostered into a career with the help of a BA, then MA in Psychology. My more recent venture is a return to school for a Ph.D. Between work, school, volunteering and trying to maintain some semblance of a social life, I have a rich schedule that keeps me on my toes. I've done a bit of traveling in my life. At an early age, family vacations took me to Canada and Mexico and in more recent years personal and business brought me to Paris, Holland, Bulgaria, London, Tijuana, and Italy. Domestically, I've been to all of the West Coast States, Arizona, Nevada, New Mexico, Utah, NY, Florida to spout off a few. :-) I look forward to meeting many folks through this service, perhaps one of those people will be you. Cheers & safe travels, ~Erik
