The Rustic Studio is on the compound of GraceGardens Retreat. The Studio is a primitive space for those travelers who need little more than a comfy over-sized Chaise Lounge (a queen size air mattress is also available) There's a fan in the summer and space heater in the winter. A large bathroom is a short walk in the main house. BUT what you do get is the rest of the amenities of GraceGardens, a retreat on the San Marcos River in Martindale, TX.
GraceGardens is a haven for rest and rejuvenation. Our sanctuary is graced with majestic trees, stunning views of the San Marcos River, a peaceful Courtyard, and a variety of calming meditation spaces.
Other amenities include a salt water swimming pool, hot tub and touring bicycles. We are located about half way between Austin and San Antonio.
If you enjoy bird watching, check out the San Marcos Loop, the San Marcos River Birding Trail or one of these popular, local bird watching sites. Painted Bunting, Summer Tanager, and Great Blue Heron are just a few of the many spectacular species of birds you may behold. Don't forget to bring your binoculars
Please note if you want to use the hot tub, then at check-in you will need to reserve day and time that you want to use it. The fee for each use is $20.00 that is due at check-in time.
Dogs are welcome as long as they are socialized and friendly with other people, animals and children. Please bring bags for cleaning up and disposing of your dog's waste.
Smoking is only allowed outside of the Courtyard and pool area, only when children are not present, and butts must be disposed of properly.
Children are always welcome! They will love the sights and sounds that come with staying on the river: looking for fish, chasing butterflies, digging in the sandbox, playing in the saltwater swimming pool and enjoying the “Kids Only” tree-house that comes equipped with a slide and a climbing wall. We also have an infant swing and tree swing for older kids and kids-at-heart.
Complimentary coffee is provided in the morning. Refrigerated storage is available for any additional food and/or drinks you bring. A BBQ pit is available for grilling.
You will have access to GraceGardens’ saltwater swimming pool, hot tub, fire pit, outside dining space, touring bicyles. No life guard on duty, swim at your own risk. There is a $20.00 fee for hot tub use and must reserve time(s) when you check-in.
Don’t forget to bring towels (for swimming and bathing), sunscreen, any desired food and/or drink items, inner-tubes and/or rafts, swimsuits and swim-shoes.
GraceGardens is a fun, yet peaceful place. We enjoy music and laughter, but we ask that you keep the noise level down after 10pm.
Wonderful people! Beautiful space. Very private with everything you need. Lovely experience. Would definitely go back again.
The scenery at Grace Gardens is GORGEOUS!! They have an amazing pool and hot tub that is very relaxing. The deck by the river is Awesome!! And they are such sweet people that is always a pleasure to be here. I highly recommend this place. If you are into roughing it the 30 dollar cabin is a great deal!!! Thanks Lee!! See you again soon!!
My seminar ended early so I did not stay the night in the studio, however, I did communicate several times with Lee before and after. She always responded promptly and politely both via phone and email. I will definitely stay at her place again should I ever need to do so in the future.
Lee was an awesome host! When I arrived Lee welcomed me and showed me around the grounds so that I'd have no problem finding anything on my own. Afterwards she left me on my own and I was able to relax and take a quick dip in the pool before I had to run off to a concert. The bed was comfortable and I slept great. The studio is indeed rustic, but it was perfect for what I needed. Would definitely stay here again. Thanks for everything Lee! :)
Very rustic but right on the river with a great pool
Lee was terrific to work with for my first AirB&B experience! I had to cancel, but her communication was prompt and considerate. Can't wait to take a family vacation at her B&B!

I'm a free spirit, nurturer, modern day hippie and Minister. I have a calm nature and an easy smile. When I'm not working around GraceGardens, I enjoy spending time with my family and grandchildren.
I live in the Main House along with my standard poodle, Maggie who has the run of most of the Main House and Courtyard, and my three cats, Zelda, Flo and Eddie, who have their own private wing in the Main House.
