About This Listing
Very comfortable cozy room with private bath, minutes from airport & downtown in Capitol View Manor. Accessible to 20, 75/85 and 285, close to MARTA at Oakland City and West End via bus. Full sized bed with new mattress, arty eclectic home.
Enjoy your private bedroom and bath in 5 bedroom 2500 sq. ft. home in historic, up and coming Capitol View Manor. The room features a full sized bed with brand new mattress, closet storage, desk/vanity and private bath. The home is very eclectic and cozy with lots of books and art. It is an older home (1940's construction) and features wifi and cable tv with kitchen access (microwave and stove). I primarily live upstairs and share the kitchen and living room with airbnb guests. I have one pet, a cat who primarily is upstairs and the home is smoker friendly (outside). The neighborhood is 10-15 minutes from Hartsfield - Jackson airport. The bus lines which stop on the corner (3 min walk) take you to the Oakland City or West End MARTA station. I am a frequent traveler, but if I am in town, I will gladly pick you up from the MARTA station at no charge or from the airport for a small fee. What Capitol View lack in terms of shops and restaurants within walking distance in makes up for with it's central location and neighborhood feel (I know my neighbors, we look out for each other- if you are here on the 1st friday of the month, feel free to join me at our neighborhood potluck!) There are two parks within walking distance and there is street parking in front of the home. I can be a totally hands off host if you prefer, but I love to provide restaurant, nightlife and attraction recommendations to make your Atlanta adventure a successful and enjoyable one. Renting a car? The house has easy access to I-20, 75-85, and 285. It is 10 mins from downtown, the Atlanta University Center, GA Dome, Georgia World Conference Center, Philips Arena, 5 minutes from Turner Field, and 15 mins from Midtown, Carter Center, MLK center. International Guests? I speak fluent French and pretty functional Spanish.
Plenty of books to read, & your closet...the bathroom is just outside your door to the left
Peri was a very welcoming host. I felt right at home and slept like a baby. The house is in a quiet neighborhood with easy access to the highway, and not far from downtown.
Good place with a fresh bathroom and a warm atmosphere in the house. Peri is very friendly, and helps you with information needed about your stay in the city.
Staying here was a good experience. Peri is a really nice lady and her cats are really cute. And one of them knows how to knock the door! Everything is nice and clean so if I ever come to Atlanta again I will absolutely come back
Peri wss the sweetest host along with her two cats. However, I was inconvenienced during the check out process. The night before (around 8 PM) I was informed another couple was checking in the next morning which meant I needed to make arranges to be out early too. This back-to-back booking was inconvenient with my meeting schedule. The next morning, I left extremely early in search of a local Coffee Shop with internet access to participant the full day of online meetings.

About the Host, Peri
I am a travel loving, wander lusting, art & music loving Southern girl, somewhat of a foodie. I believe in "Southern Hospitality" for sure, though I was raised in New England. I enjoy reading, exploring festivals, live music concerts, galleries and other eclectic events. I can't live without books (or my kindle),my cat, Huey, my passport, good food and wine and lots of visual stimulus. My favorite travel destinations are Paris, France, Brazil, (especially Salvador da Bahia), Senegal, West Africa, New York City and pretty much anywhere with a beach. I can be a total hands off host, or give lots or recommendations for restaurants, attractions and nightlife to help you make the most of your Atlanta adventure. I enjoy meeting people from all over the world, sharing my city and learning about all the reasons that bring people to Atlanta.
I enjoy hosting and have shared all the stories of my guests adventures so much that it's now a family affair! I also manage a second listing in my birthplace, Nashville, TN. The home is owned by my mother who lives next door. She is a very sweet lady and a wonderful host, but technology is not her thing, so at least initially communication on the app and via text will be with me. Unlike my listing, the Nashville house is not inhabited, it is just for airbnb guests. You can rent the whole house, or any of the three bedrooms. Nashville is a great up and coming city with a rich history, it's not just honky tonks and country music studios for sure! My mom is a Nashvillian born and raised and loves to share her city.
closest place to get a good breakfast, and I support local businesses. Looks like a hole in the wall, food is surprisingly good. I love the sweet potato pancakes. $3 breakfast? cant beat it!University Ave SW Atlanta GA 30310
