Enchanting retreat on the San Marcos River in Martindale, TX. It is haven for rest and rejuvenation and graced with majestic trees, stunning views of the San Marcos River, a peaceful Courtyard, and a variety of calming meditation spaces.
Our Rustic Oak Cabin is located across the Courtyard from the Main House and has a magnificent view of the San Marcos River. The Cabin is a small one room space equipped with plush futons, large writing desk and shower. It has a coffee pot, microwave, plates, cups and eating utensils.
Check-in: Anytime after 3pm
Other amenities include a tree-shaded swimming pool, hot tub, BBQ grill, fire pit, free wifi and touring bicycles. We are located about half way between Austin and San Antonio. Several tubing outfitters are minutes away.
If you enjoy bird watching, check out the San Marcos Loop, the San Marcos River Birding Trail or one of these popular, local bird watching sites. Painted Bunting, Summer Tanager, and Great Blue Heron are just a few of the many spectacular species of birds you may behold. Don't forget to bring your binoculars!
Please note if you want to use the hot tub, then at check-in you will need to reserve day and time that you want to use it. The fee for each use is $20.00 and is due at check-in time.

Interaction with Guests
We leave our guests alone but are always available to meet any needs or answer any questions.
There are several units on the property, so if other spaces are booked there may be other guest interaction.
We're located in a quiet country setting but just 10 minutes from San Marcos.
Dogs are welcome as long as they are socialized and friendly with other people, animals and children. Please bring bags for cleaning up and disposing of your dog's waste. If you plan to leave your dog while you leave to do other activities, must bring your own crate and the dog must be crate trained. Please note that if the dog is upset (crying, howling) when you leave, we will call you and ask you to return.
Smoking is only allowed outside of the Courtyard and pool area, only when children are not present, and butts must be disposed of properly.
Children are always welcome! They will love the sights and sounds that come with staying on the river: looking for fish, chasing butterflies, digging in the sandbox, playing in the tree-shaded swimming pool and enjoying the “Kids Only” tree-house that comes equipped with a slide and a climbing wall. We also have an infant swing and tree swing for older kids and kids-at-heart. During summer months we continually watch for wasps and try to remove any nests that they may build. Parents please take a look before you allow kids to play on playscape.
Complimentary coffee is provided in the morning. Refrigerated storage is available for any additional food and/or drinks you bring. A BBQ pit is available for grilling.
You will have access to GraceGardens’ swimming pool, hot tub, fire pit, outside dining space, touring bicyles. No life guard on duty, swim at your own risk. There is a $20.00 fee for hot tub use and must reserve time(s) when you check-in.
Don’t forget to bring towels (for swimming and bathing), sunscreen, any desired food and/or drink items, inner-tubes and/or rafts, swimsuits and swim-shoes.
GraceGardens is a fun, yet peaceful place. We enjoy music and laughter, but we ask that you keep the noise level down after 10pm.
About the Host, Lee
I'm a free spirit, nurturer, modern day hippie and Minister. I have a calm nature and an easy smile. When I'm not working around GraceGardens, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends.
I live part-time in the Main House along with my two dogs and cat, a standard poodle Maggie, a "chaweenie" named Blue and Zelda the fat cat. During mid week, I have a co-host who comes in to serve as host for guests.
