Cave Rm:2 in Cave Hotel@CAPPADOCIA

Bed & Breakfast - Private room · Çerkez Sokak, Göreme, Nevsehir 50650, Turkey

This room has been dug out of the rock that forms the back side of the hotel. The cave room is naturally cool during the hot summers and retains the heat in winter.

The Space

The room is part of a small cave hotel nestled in the center of Cappadocia, in the town of Goreme. The room was carved out of the rock decades ago when the space was created to enlarge the house located here. This house was converted into a hotel in 2012 whereby the original structures of the building were kept intact. The thick stones walls of the cave rooms keep the room naturally cool during the hot months of summer and retain the warmth during the cold winter. The room is furnished with a comfortable double bed, a sofa and TV, a writing table and closet. The bathroom attached to the room has a shower, toilet and washbasin. Towels, a hairdryer and toiletries are complimentary.

The hotel has a friendly and informal atmosphere. It is located in a quiet side street, only a 5 minute walk from the center of town and the bus station, shops and restaurants. You are always welcome to help yourself to a cup of coffee or tea and enjoy the views from our breakfast/reception room or one of the terraces of the hotel.

When you arrive I will be here to welcome you and provide you with all the necessary information on the region, and help you organize any activities that you would like to do. This is the ideal place from where to explore this region full of breathtaking landscapes, decorated Byzantine rock-cut churches and troglodyte dwellings. There are daily tours to the different parts of the region, hot air balloon flights are sunrise and a number of incredible trekking routes.

  • Staying with Erdogan was a pleasure. The hotel is in a great location - slightly removed from the center of town but still very close (2 min walk). The cave rooms are big and beautiful, with everything you might need, including a full bathroom and heater and tv and couch..etc. The complimentary breakfast is a large spread and allows you time to hang out the deck and look out over the town. Erdogan helped us arrange an air balloon ride and coordinated our shuttle service to and from the airport. He also kindly recommended fun hikes and walks through town and through the valleys and even gave us a ride to the outdoor museum (which was certainly not required). Overall the experience was wonderful and I recommend it to anyone interested in seeing Cappadocia.

  • Gorgeous room- beautiful decoration and bathroom. All the amenities work very well. Warm and cozy with good heating and a modem in the room for wifi. The breakfast was very tasty as well and Erdogan was an extremely helpful host, making bookings and giving good advice on the area when we asked. My only problem was that the bed was far too hard for my personal taste, but all of the places I have stayed have had hard beds, so maybe this is the preference of Turkish people? Overall I would recommend this as the perfect bnb to experience Göreme.

  • I stated this wonderful location and it is probably the best place to stay in the area. Erdogan and his wife are AMAZING!!! They were so helpful in arranging excursions and transportation. He would order a bus at a moments notice, they would have a lovely breakfast and they were great to chat with about what to do in the area. The rooms were very clean and modern and brand-new. If I returned Kapadokya this is the only place I would stay. Erdogan, thank you!

  • Highly recommended!!! What a perfect, easy, relaxing, perfect stay here. Erdogan and Danielle were kind, accommodating, helpful, thoughtful, and went out of their way to help us. We wanted to extend our stay and there was no room, and they took time to find us a place to stay and made sure we would love it just as much as their place. The room is perfect. Clean, comfortable, fast wifi, great water pressure. We would definitely stay here again.

  • Erdogan was a very welcoming, warm, and generous host. Any questions or concerns we had were answered immediately and we were well taken care of. The hotel and room were beautiful and clean. We had such a comfortable stay and enjoyed the benefit of Erdogan's vast knowledge of the Goreme region, it's amazing sights, and vast hiking trails. It was a pleasant and memorable visit and we would recommend the Gedik Cave Hotel to anyone!

  • Erdogan has a wonderful cave hotel in the perfect location. Goreme, the town in which the Gedik Cave Hotel is located, is in the middle of the Cappadocia region and is surrounded by ferry chimneys, cave churches and underground cities. The Gedik Cave Hotel is on a quiet street, within a short walk or drive of a number or restaurants and stores. We visited during the low season and had a wonderful time. Although we didn't stay in season, I can imagine that it would a very quiet and relaxing spot to stay away from the noise during tourist season. A short walk, however will get you right back to the "hub bub." Erdogan has owned the hotel since February of 2013 and works very hard to make sure that his guests are well taken care of. Since we had a car, he gave us directions to various destinations in the area, provided a lovely, sumptuous, delicious Turkish breakfast in the morning and an afternoon tea. The rooms were very quiet - hey it's a cave! - clean, warm and charming. His is located in the town of Goreme and is centrally located to all the towns in the region and if you rented a car as we did, is the perfect "base camp" for taking in all the sights. This was a great find for us and know you'll like it as well.

  • I stayed here for 2 nights in November and really appreciated the hospitality offered to me by Danielle and Erdogan. Erdogan organised my hot air ballon ride, Hamam bath and shuttle to the airport, while I experienced a lovely hike through the Love and Rose valleys with Danielle and another guest. While experiences make a holiday special, I also have to mention the warm and comfortable room. It was very welcoming after a long overnight bus ride.

  • I had a wonderful time at Erdogan and Danielle’s Gediik Cave Hotel.
I had the sense that they run a tight ship - in that Erdogan is really on top of communication (I so much appreciate that !), everything is clean, the furnishings were comfortable and good quality, and breakfast was well-done. I especially enjoyed the bed and the thick comforters.
Erdogan offered some great suggestions to help me plan my explorations on my own around Cappadocia and the neighboring areas.
The view from the rooftop of the balloons rising in the valley at dawn was magical. Thanks.

For the past 15 years I have been living and working in Cappadocia, Turkey. I love nature and trekking which is what first brought me to this part of Turkey. I run my own small hotel in Goreme town situated within the Goreme National park, a UNESCO World Heritage site. The valleys surrounding Goreme are incredible and contain some great hiking opportunities. I love to share my knowledge of the area - gained after being a trekking guide and tourism pro for more than a decade - with all who pass through this unique region. Its great top meet people from all parts of the world and help them discover one of my favorite places in Turkey. I hope you will think of my hotel as your home, where you will feel comfortable and relaxed. Come and have a cup of tea or coffee and a chat when ever you feel like it.
