Golden Moon is a stunning, newly completed luxury retreat co-created by villa designer, Ida Bagus Oka Genijaya and a California sculptor/photographer. This uniquely artistic property is made up of a large main house (1 bedroom), a separate self-contained bungalow or second bedroom, a huge kidney shaped pool (12 meters long), and a “bale” used as a pool side gazebo or open-air yoga/art studio.

The space
Golden Moon is located just a few kilometers south of Ubud (the art and cultural center of Bali) in the woodcarving village of Mas. The compound is at the end of a small driveway off a quiet village road on ten “are” of land (11,000 sq ft). This tranquil retreat is ideal for one to two couples, a family or a small group on retreat.

What makes the Villa of the Golden Moon such a special property are the countless contributions of artists and craftsmen who have added their creative gifts to every aspect of the compound. We look forward to sharing with you the magic of this one-of-a kind property.

MAIN HOUSE (138 meters sq/1500 sq ft): Soaring six meter (20 ft) high wood cathedral ceilings, etched marble floors, custom solid teak furniture through out. Decorated with sculptures, enlarged photos of Bali, and unique lighting which includes hammered copper fixtures and lamps made from antique carved wooden furniture.

Great Room/Lounge with large front terrace: views overlooking the pool and garden. Three glass panels slide out of sight during the day to create an open-air living room, but can be easily closed and locked at night. Living room with large L-sofa, 57” TV, DVD player, hand-carved Suar root coffee table with curved glass top. Marble half bath off living room with exterior access to pool. Fully equipped kitchen with stunning, green granite counter tops, solid teak cabinets, curved island with gas cooktop, bar stools, panty, large view windows out the back to tropical ravine. Hi! My name is Oka and I am a villa designer and artist from Bali, Indonesia. For many years I travelled around America and the Carribean working on cruise ships, but now I have settled back home in Bali with my wife Dayu and my son Gustu. As a young boy I was a woodcarver and pottery designer and have since combined my interests in art and hospitality to design unique villas around Bali. My family is also of the Brahman, priestly caste in Bali, and I grew up learning about all of the unique and intricate aspects of Balinese culture, religion, and art from my father. In addition to being passionate about creating unique villas and art, I am also passionate about sharing information about my home-- the island of the gods-- Bali. I was once hired to do a Canadian National Geographic-like program called Departure indonesia season 3- Ring of fire and Departure indonesia season 3- A home away. You can look me up in these films! I can't wait to share with you! -Oka
