Close to downtown and a straight shot to the Circuit of the Americas, my home is quiet and spacious with a zen vibe.
I'll be happy to make recommendations so you get the most our of your Austin visit.
Just two minutes from the brand new Mueller urban village development and a short 12 minutes from downtown, this modernized 1960s home has charm and good vibes to spare.
The 2,300 sqft space feels mellow and artsy. All cleaners are eco-friendly and there are always healthy vegan snacks in the kitchen and pantry.
The guest bed is a 6-foot-long daybed with a trundle underneath, which scoots out and pops up with an identical twin mattress. Both mattresses can be placed side by side though the frames do not adjoin.
I'm in an up-and-coming area that is SO close to downtown and lots of eclectic East Austin hotspots nearby. This little neighborhood is growing up! LOTS of cool spots 10 minutes away or less -- make sure to click on the "Guidebook" icon by the listing title or on the "Maps" tab to see my personal recommendations of nearby points of interest. (coffee, dining, shopping, bars)
As far as arrival/departure, I'm about 20 minutes from the airport and I recommend you rent a car for maximum freedom.
You can expect me to make uniquely Austin recommendations on places to visit. Friends and family who stay here call it a zen-like spa getaway.
Backyard, small firepit, picnic table, two-car driveway, Netflix, stereo.
Interaction with Guests
As much as needed...can check in daily and provide guidance getting about town.
For city festivals and events, there is a downtown shuttle on UT campus, which is about a :12 drive away. I recommend renting a car for maximum freedom.
As a guest, you will be offered a courteous welcome and be treated with respect.
This is strictly a non-smoker environment (no smoking in or out of the house) -- this ensures all textiles are always smoke-free for guests.
Quiet hours are from 10pm to 8am.
On occasion, I may need to hold a teleconference from home and request quiet during this time.
You are welcome to shower the cats with as much affection as they will allow from strangers.
You are welcome to help yourself to all fresh fruit, vegetables, snacks, and drinks.
You may use the kitchen to prepare simple meals. In return, I ask that due to sensitivities you not cook any meat, fish, or eggs.
I ask for mindfulness regarding recycling and composting to reduce landfill trash.
It genuinely pleases me to have happy guests, simply be courteous and mindful.
Lisa was a great host! She was really helpful in providing advice for how to get around Austin during SXSW. From the moment we arrived, she offered great suggestions for places to go around town, and she even provided maps. Her house is beautiful and clean, and our room was quite comfortable. I'd definitely recommend staying with Lisa, especially if you have a car and don't mind the 10-15 minute drive to get downtown.
I'm a consultant and am lucky enough to work from home most of the time. I love cats, music, and movies. I play guitar a little bit, and love talking about the great cosmological questions: why are we here, where are we going, and what is reality? I'm mostly vegan and very interested in health.
Travel: I have been to Paris, Tamarindo, Tulum, New York, San Francisco, Sedona, Cozumel, D.C. and hope to keep adding to the list. When traveling I'm drawn to nature, art, and eating at amazing restaurants.
I think that everything that can go right, will. (Sorry, Murphy)
