This home was absolutely lovely and just as nice as it appears in the pictures. It's in a beautiful and quiet neighborhood within easy walking distance to several cafes and is just a few minutes' drive from downtown. Ruth was very communicative and helpful. I will definitely recommend this place to friends and family.
Ruth was a great host! She left detailed notes in case we had any questions and she was even kind enough to leave a bottle of wine and snacks for us. The house was clean and we felt comfortable in the neighborhood. We had a wonderful visit.
If you want to feel like Austin is home then Ruth's house is the perfect place. I felt as though I was part of her family....she even left quarters for the bus! My boyfriend and I stayed during SXSW so it was a nice and quiet getaway. And there were so many great restaurants in walking distance, including Quack's (I will miss all your pastries) and Mother's Cafe. I would definitely stay at Ruth's house again.
Ruth's home was very welcoming and very clean! It was in a perfect location with a great restaurant down the street, a small organic grocery and a great coffee spot. Her home was comfortable and relaxing. I was in Austin on business and it was great to come home after a busy day and relax on the front porch sipping a glass of wine that Ruth was so thoughtful to provide. I would highly recommend Ruth's house for anyone visiting Austin - you will not find a better place!!!
Ruth's home was very cheerful and welcoming. She accommodated out needs for check in and check in out, and left us a bottle of wine, toiletries, and other sundries upon arrival. The neighborhood was very nice. Within walking distance there were restaurants, a coffee shop, and an eccentric convenience store with an excellent selection of craft beer and wine. We enjoyed staying a bit removed from the action of downtown, and cheap and easy bus travel made getting into the thick of things easy.
Ruth's house is cute, neat, and in a fun neighborhood. I walked to the Flight Path Cafe for espresso in the morning. I walked to Fresh Plus for groceries in the afternoon. I did some baking while I was there. The kitchen had the things I'd forgotten - measuring spoons, measuring cups, and vanilla.
Access was easy: the owner gave us a code to open the doors.
I loved staying here. I'd certainly rent this place again.
Ruth was not present when we arrived but she made us feel very welcome with a bottle of wine, cheese, and crackers. Her house is just as it appears - very cute and just what we needed for a couple of nights. The neighborhood is in a very convenient location and only about a 15 minute drive to downtown Austin.
