This listing is for the Master Suite - the top 2 floors of the original Joglo.
The Joglo was built in Java last century using recycled wood, and is the only one of its kind. The restoration was true to the original, retaining the features of high cathedral/loft style ceilings, attic style doors and detailed fretwork.
Bathrooms were added to include open air showers and terazzo baths, and a separate outdoor kitchen and dining area which has views of the rice fields, overlooking the river.
The property includes a pool, Balinese bale area, organic garden for you to pick produce for your meals, and high speed wi-fi.
Our housekeeper will collect you with the scooter from the main road (Jalan Raya) and transport your luggage to the joglo. There's plenty to do nearby - the beautiful rice walk, Sari Organik's organic vegetable garden, Cantika spa, Pomegranate restaurant. Check with us for activities in and around Ubud.

The Rice Joglo is 20 minutes walk along the famous Rice Field walk into Sok Wayah Rice Field 200 m past Sari Organik. There is no car access in the rice field, ensuring tranquility and fresh, unspoiled air.
Our little street is host to some beautiful restaurants, the most famous being Sari Organik a few minutes walk away. Enjoy any of the many day spas in our street or Ubud Centre. There are also many yoga houses in our rice field, including the famous Ubud Yoga House.
The centre of ubud is also host to a myriad of temples, museums, art and craft markets, restaurants and cafes.
Its a beautiful and tranquil 20 minute walk to the main street of Ubud (without cars!). You can walk , or hire a bicycle or scooter. Our housekeeper can meet you at the main street with the scooter - just organise it with him beforehand.
Getting around Ubud town is easy by foot, and there are plenty of taxis if you get tired!
We recommend bringing a torch for the way back into the rice field at night.
Other Things to Note
While the Joglo is easy to get to by walking or scooter, at night the walk into the rice field can get dark in places. You'll need a torch. It's the price we pay for enjoying the open space and tranquility away from the hustle and bustle of the main centre.
