Convenient to Rhinebeck Village center, Omega, the Fairgrounds, etc. Beautiful, private, romantic suite.

The Space

Privacy abounds in this gorgeous master bedroom suite in a country farmhouse surrounded by abundant gardens. King size bed, wood burning fireplace, private bathroom w large walk in shower with double shower heads and body jets, cable tv (with Netflix), internet and private balcony. The master bedroom suite is separated from the rest of our house by a long hallway and are the only rooms on the 2nd floor of the house. VERY PRIVATE and ROMANTIC! You will have shared use of our living room with wood burning fireplace, our large eat-in-kitchen, and our dining room. We also have a washer dryer should you need it. Window air conditioning and ceiling fan. The suite is on the second floor of our home, so you will need to be able to walk up stairs (not many!). The property is situated on a beautiful country acre, 10 minutes from the village center or the Fairgrounds. And we are only 2.2 miles from Omega - we often have Omega guests stay with us! In fact, we are the closest airbnb location to Omega. We are on a very lightly traveled road and the house is set far back on the property so there is virtually no noise here.

We are a friendly couple with two children (who are frequently not home on weekends we have guests). We have two fantastic cats. We also have Angora rabbits in a hutch outside. And seven silver-laced Wyandotte chickens. We have a large productive vegetable garden that you are welcome to use as you plan your meals.

We'd be happy to share local information with you, provide a country breakfast (for $10/person - you pick the menu!), and help in any other way we can to make your stay fantastic. We are close to Bard College, Village of Rhinebeck, the Omega Institute, the Dutchess County Fairgrounds, and the Taconic State Parkway. We have bikes you can borrow. And in the summertime we have a pool! Dogs on approval.

The house is located exactly 10 minutes from the village of Rhinebeck, 12 minutes to the Hudson River and Amtrack station. Conveniently located to Red Hook, Clinton, Stanfordville, Salt Point, skiing and much more! Rhinebeck is the home of the oldest inn in America, as well as of many shopping and dining attractions, many of which were visited by the guests of Chelsea Clinton's wedding. Rhinebeck has some of the finest dining in Hudson Valley!

Enjoy the area year-round, with fall foliage, fairs and festivals, the CIA ('Culinary Institute of America'), skiing at Belleayre, Catamount, Windham or Hunter Mountains, Bard College and its summer music festival, the Omega Institute, Aerodrome air shows, wineries, spas, golf, boating, the FDR Library and Museum, Vanderbilt estate, Eleanor Roosevelt's Val-Kill cottage, and other historic sites.

Getting around

The village of Rhinbeck offers great streets for walking; several reliable cab companies; Amtrak to Poughkeepsie, Hudson, Albany, New York City and more; and public bus transport to Red Hook, Hyde Park and Poughkeepsie.
Our house is located outside the Village. Our road is walkable but the 7 1/2 miles to Rhinebeck Village are not recommended for walkers. Some cyclists use the main road, but it can be quite busy for inexperienced cyclists. Also, there is little lighting (we are in the country), so nighttime cycling is not suggested.

  • Brennan and Rik have a very cute little spot. We didn't see them much because we were on a retreat at Omega, but the place was very nice and quite. There was plenty of privacy and we were able to come and go as we pleased. Would definitely return. Highly recommend!

  • We had a good time. It was a little further from the center of town than I would have preferred, but it was a nice warm and welcoming house. The bedroom was great to have some really private space to spread out.

  • What can I say? I’d rather not share because I’d like to keep this resource all to myself. Yes, that’s how much I, and my travelling partner, enjoyed our stay. Rick and Brennan were terrific. Ready with a map or a call to confirm the possibility of late dinner at a restaurant recommendation they provided, they were thoughtful about enhancing the experience of our stay through small details that made us feel that we were special guests. 4 thumbs up!

  • We had a blast at Brennan & Rik's. The room is spacious, clean and comfortable, the bed was really comfy and the bathroom was great. We really enjoyed Brennan, Rik and the family. All were welcoming and made us feel at home. They gave us great advise on where to eat, shop and play too. Chef and I are looking forward to our next visit with them!!!!!

  • Our stay at Brennan's and Rik's, 2 very with-it children, 2 very snuggly cats, 2 (left) very friendly chickens and 3 crazy looking angora bunnies was great fun. We enjoyed the beautiful master bedroom (please don't forget to feed the fish) with very large bathroom and wonderful shower and total privacy. Thanks for your hospitality for our 3 night stay and your assistance finding places to visit in your beautiful Rhinebeck area. B and R are very easy to like and to feel home with. Yes, we definitely would come back here.

  • Beautiful house on a wonderful property deep in the woods. My room was HUGE, as was the bathroom! Brennan & Rik were super friendly and welcoming. This was my first Airbnb experience, and I am totally sold.

  • Brennan & Rik were exceptional hosts. They even offered their washer and dryer if needed. Their home felt warm and inviting. Situated in a lovely woodsy setting, yet extremely close to Omega! Both the bedroom and bathroom were huge and private, comfortable and a true find! For our very first experience with air bnb, I don't think I could've asked for better. I would encourage anyone to give their listing a try! They are both friendly and make you feel completely welcomed. We enjoyed our morning coffee and chat w/Brennan! It felt more like visiting friends.

  • A second visit to Brennan and Rik's cozy abode reinforced what I already knew: they are friendly, congenial hosts, and they really make the traveler feel welcome and comfortable. A complimentary scrumptious peach awaited me at the end of one particularly long and exhausting day, the perfect touch for this weary traveler. The location is convenient and very (website hidden) was just right for me.Highest recommendation!

  • Brennan and Rik were wonderful hosts and their accommodation was excellent. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend this address to anyone wishing to stay in this area. This is also extremely convenient for anybody attending events at the Omega institute which is located 5 minutes away by car. We had a great stay.
