A clean and welcoming guest bedroom in my apartment in Bushwick Brooklyn, it is only 3 1/2 blocks from the L train (20 min to Manhattan). Fresh sheets and towels provided. Help yourself to toiletries in the bath and breakfast items in the fridge :)
Here are the details on my apartment and your bedroom, should you choose it :)
*This is a 3 bedroom apartment, with 2 bedrooms for myself and my 2 kids, and 1 bedroom for you
*It has 2 bathrooms (I have my own in my bedroom & my 2 children share both mine and the main bathroom thus leaving the main bathroom mostly free)
*There is a living room, adjacent dining room area and a fully equipped kitchen which you are free to use
*It has a balcony to enjoy the sun with your morning coffee or meal, or if you smoke, that's where you are welcome to go.
*We have a cute but shy cat, he doesn't really shed and stays out of the way, so he is practically HYPOALLERGENIC and hasn't been a problem to the couple of friends who are typically allergic to cats (and to the two guests who attest to it in the guest reviews section :)
*Bedroom is approximately 12x10 ft
*Yours would be the bedroom on the opposite end of the apt for most privacy, please note that the apartment is all full rooms and is not a "railroad style", our bedrooms are down the hall from yours
*The room has a wood floor painted white in an artisanal style, a window, built in closet (includes hangers), rolling desk (with NYC guide books), a chair, a full length mirror, and a subway map on the wall
*In the summer I install an air conditioner in your bedroom
*In the winter there is heating throughout apartment we can control the thermostat to some degree
*Bed is an over sized full size with a high quality mattress covered by two mattress protection covers for most hygiene
*Bedroom is best suited for 2 people, but if needed a 3rd guest can be added by my placing a single size mattress where the rolling desk is (which will be moved toward the closet)
*Help yourself to breakfast foods all provided in bottom shelf of fridge just for you (I keep stocked with frozen waffles, bagels, cereal, fruit, juice, milk, instant oatmeal, peanut butter, jam, yogurt, etc., and I welcome requests- so let me know if there is a breakfast food that's a must have for you ;)
*Hot coffee in the mornings
*Body soap bars provided
*Fresh linen and towels provided
*Sheets changed weekly for longer staying guests
*Full use of kitchen, shelf in fridge, coffeepot, microwave, toaster, rice cooker, dishes, pots and etc
*Shelves in the bathroom for your items
*Hair blow dryer and steam iron for your use under bathroom sink
*You're welcome to use all the toiletries
*Please note there is NO "Cleaning Fee" and NO "Deposit Fee"
*I have a modest library of books you can read in your spare time as well
*I provide a very comprehensive "HOUSE MANUAL" and a "GUIDEBOOK" that details where everything is in the apartment as well as the important and interesting locations in the neighborhood
*A few books about NYC and the Zagat guide await you on your desk
*If you do not have a set ideas of things to do in NYC, it would please me to suggest things, whether it's here in Bushwick, Williamsburg or Manhattan :)
*I am always willing to consider special requests based on your needs
I am very helpful when asked to be and also very friendly, but know when to step back and give space. Everyone is different, and some people want to just relax in their room, but some want to come out and have a glass of wine or tea and chat and I totally understand that. My children are curious about their world so they may ask about what country our guest is from, etc., but other than that and introducing themselves they are good at picking up social cues and engage in conversation when it befitting :)
*Bushwick is a mixture of a working class and artistic neighborhood in the New York City borough of Brooklyn. Bushwick is between Williamsburg and Ridgewood
*A flourishing artist community exists in Bushwick and is expanding further in as it is undergoing "gentrification"
*Dozens of art studios and galleries are scattered throughout the neighborhood and continue on growing as more and more artists continue to move in from Williamsburg, Park Slope and Manhattan
*Traffic is pretty quite here compared to Manhattan, but it is still not the suburbs and people do like their music around here
*There is a convenience store (bodega/deli) on my block, I am 1 1/2 blocks away (email hidden) laundromat, as well as a supermarket.
*Variety of dining options within walking distance (please see full guide to restaurants, bars and etc. in my neighborhood with your booking)
*There is free (no meters) street parking on my and surrounding blocks
*3 1/2 blocks from the L train, off the Halsey stop or Wilson stop, equal distance. The L is NYC's MOST CONVENIENT TRAIN (SUBWAY)
*The L line goes east to west all through Manhattan and transfers you to just about any train
*Williamsburg is 10 minutes away by train and Manhattan is 20 minutes.
*The B20 bus stops on my block (it goes into Ridgewood in a few minutes as well as Bed Stuy)
*It is an average of a 20 MINUTE car/taxi ride from LaGuardia and JFK and a bit longer from Newark airport to my place
*Your are free to come and go as you please, you will of course have your own keys, and there is no set time I ask you to come home.
*Before making a reservation, kindly check your airbnb profile: does it have a photo? A phone # and at least one other verification? Please note that I would appreciate these, as I have provided such
*Due to my work schedule check-in time is at 4:30pm or later (and check-out time is about 2:30 or 3:00pm)

Deanna and is children as really nice! The flact is perfectly arranged! As the deanna's rooms are at tje opposite of guest´rooms ! For me the flat would be perfect if it was closer to bedford ave etc... Indeed I felt not really safe when we came back after 9 pm so we prefered to take a taxi!
Isabelle and her sister must have been confused where Bushwick is, Bedford L is Williamsburg in which case she should have rented a room there. Bushwick is rugged and beautiful, working class and artistic community. Maybe a culture shock for someone a bit sheltered. I take train solo and totally comfortable as are my guests and my kids are 9 and 10 and they take the train too ;)
Deanna's place is great if you want to get to know the real life behind the neonlights in NY !
Everything works perfect and the room is nice and in a friendly neighborhood . Highly recommended :-) Helen and kids
Deanna est une hôte sympathique qui se met à la disposition de ses invités.
Le logement est agréable et très bien chauffé. Bien situé pour visiter Manhattan.
Nous avons été très satisfait de Deanna que nous recommandons
We had a great time in Brooklyn staying at Deanna's place. We were three and the room accommodated the double bed and a mattress for our friend perfectly well, which we were really grateful for, as staying in the area can be expensive otherwise! Deanna and her 2 kids made us feel very welcome, and the room was lovely, made up with towels and soaps just like in the photos. Definitely great value for money, and an enjoyable way to visit Brooklyn and NYC as it is so close to the L train. Would recommend!!
Deanna is a gracious and generous hostess. Her 2 kids are just a reflection of her good nature! She was very quick in responding to our emails/messages and she welcomed us to NYC, making us feel at home. Deanna knows the NYC neighborhoods very well.
The location is super convenient, 7 minutes away from the L-train (subway) to Manhattan. The room we stayed in was private, clean and equipped with all of what you need.
We definitely had a great time and would recommend her place.
A great time! Deanna and her family are super sweet and accommodating!
Deanna is a great host. She did her best for helping and hosting us during our stay in NYC! The breakfast was just perfect each morning and the room was great for 2 people!
The metro is really close from the appartment ( 5 / 7 min walking )
It was a pleasure to stay at Deanna's appartment for our 4 days of vacation.
Deanna was a gracious host. The neighborhood is fairly nice, very convenient to subway, and also nice for walking to the trendier parts of Bushwick, if you don't mind a long walk.
The room is comfortable, but, as it is in the front of the building, fairly noisy from the street, which for a non city dweller, impacts negatively on the amount of sleep one might get.
We stayed at Deanna's for a week and really enjoyed it. She was a nice and very friendly host, answered all our questions, had a lot of tips where to go and what to do and made us feel welcome. The room was small, but cozy, perfect for two people, but for three a tad too small. Deannas children a very well behaved and always very helpful. Relating to breakfast, we had everything we needed. Deanna made us coffee in the mornings. The location of her appartment is just awesome! It only took us about 15 min to get into the city! The subway station is very close to her house, the neighborhood is safe (as two girls travelling on our own, we never felt unsafe at any time, day or night). It's a good place to stay when you're in New York, for a great prize.
She was great at responding promptly and arranged for us to stay in very short notice. Great stay.
