The Space

This is a one bedroom, one bathroom apartment (not a studio!) with a full kitchen and a sofa in the living room that unfolds into a a full-sized bed (if need be), located in the Providencia neighborhood of Santiago, Chile. The building is located exactly half a block from Metro Los Leones and less than 2 km from both Vitacura and Las Condes (see map). It includes an outdoor pool (not so useful in the winter, but, I digress), gym, laundry room and 24-hour concierge. Due to its proximity to the metro, various bus lines and bike paths, the apartment is a good home base for exploring various parts of the city.

Some neighborhood features include: parks, jogging/bike paths, Costanera Center (a large mall with various department stores as well as restaurants, bars and the Hard Rock Cafe, do people still go there?) various coffee shops and eateries.
There are at least 2 major supermarkets within walking distance.

Feel free to message me if you have any questions.

  • I've now had two visits to Santiago, staying at or viewing 6 airbnb apartments in the city -- so I think I'm in a good position to compare with this one (maybe more so than the other reviewers of this place?). The apartments I saw in central Santiago have a lot of similarities: there's a tremendous uniformity in layout and furniture of the units, and also in the amenities in the building (laundry room, bbq area, etc. ). The main thing that distinguishes this place on the positive side is that it is in many ways "well-located". Not that it's in a charming area, but many of the other apartments are in business or residential districts with few shops or restaurants. This one 2 minutes from a metro stop, close to a huge mall and many smaller shops, and walking distance to many places to eat, particularly upscale ones. On the other hand, this was by far the noisiest of any Santiago apartment I visited -- and actually the loudest I've stayed in during my life, and I've lived in enormous cities for decades. Like many Santiago apartments, the exterior walls are mostly thin glass and give almost no sound insulation. But what makes this ibe worse is that it overlooks first a construction site and then Nueva Providencia, one of the busiest streets in the city. The bedroom is particularly rough: some nights sleeping there reallly felt like like lying down on the side of a highway. Secondly, the other apartments I visited were "airbnb classic" -- spotless and with no item in them that wouldn't be useful to a guest. In contrast, the host here lives in the apartment year-round and quickly moves in with a friend when she can get a guest (I suspect as much to get some peace and quiet as for the money). She left the counter surfaces clean, and cleared out two small desk-sized drawers, a cubby hole, and half of the small closet. Other than that, the apartment was left in the "as lived in" condition. Since I travel light, the concrete inconveniences of this set-up were pretty minor: probably the biggest one was that whenever I wanted to see if some useful everyday item (e.g. toilet paper, soap, replacements for the burnt-out light-bulbs) was actually in the unit, I had to go on a scavenger hunt through drawer after drawer stuffed with a stranger's personal items. Less concretely, it made an apartment that was already small seem really, really tiny. I don’t know if this will annoy every guest, but a least a warning seems fair, especially since the pictures give a different impression. Overall, I think this place shouldn't be compared to other airbnb units, but as a small step up from (website hidden) or a backpackers. You'll get night-life tips from the management, a place to crash after hitting the town, and some floor space to put your stuff. If you’re in Santiago to party for a few days, if...

  • I had a great stay at Daniela's apartment.

Beautiful, comfortable and very very very well located. Little walking distance from Giratorio Restaurant, Costanera Center Mall, Las Leones Metro Station, etc.

Daniela was also very supportive, even though I really didn't need much help with the apartment and the neighborhood.

I highly recommend everyone to stay there.

Daniela is a very nice person she helped me and opened me the doors to her place the same day I ask for reservation.
I would definitely stay here again.

  • Centrally located, fantastic kitchen, ample space.
Since you are right in the hub of Provedencia it tends to be a bit noisy.
Daniela was super accomodating with our arrival and departure times. Very responsive.

  • We have enjoyed so much our stay in Santiago! Daniela’s apartment is very cozy and functional. The location is also special, with Los Leones metro station just around the corner. In addition, there are plenty of restaurants, caffes, markets and shops nearby. Great choice!
