The Space

This is the only real Jungle Villa in Manuel Antonio.

Getting around

Although our villa is within walking distance from many restaurants and shops, our location is very private. The villa cannot be seen from any road or other property.

For this reason we have created a very detailed webpage with our GPS coordinates, aerial pictures, text description how to reach us from
San Jose International Airport (SJO), Jaco and Quepos and our location on different interactive maps.

As soon as your reservation is confirmed we send you by direct email the web address of our detailed location page. Unfortunately we cannot give you this web address in this messaging system before a reservation is confirmed.

Thanks to our very private location, our villa is one of the safest locations in our area, and we never had any burglary since we bought the villa early 1999.

Other Things to Note

Until 1 month before arrival we only honor reservation requests for 3 or more guests.

  • The JungleVilla is amazing. Minutes by walk to good restaurants and minutes by car to Manuel Antonio and Quepos. The place itself is set among the jungle trees, sounds, and wildlife of Costa Rica. It's convenient, comfortable, and has the added perks of the communal area and pool. I spent four days here with my family, starting out with coffee in the morning on the hammock, looking out over a canopy of trees and hearing howler monkeys miles off in the distance. Definitely a highlight of the trip. Thanks Ad!

  • My stay at the Jungle Villa was a highlight during my trip to Costa Rica. The Villa is set back from the main street, overlooking the valley to the ocean. When I first arrived, I took a dip in the three tiered pools while howler monkeys played in the trees above. Later, I invited new found friends to join me in preparing a feast in the fully equipped kitchen. We ate and drank beers late into the evening. The caretaker didn't have any issues with them staying for dinner, as long as they didn't stay for the night.

The place was clean and comfortable.
They let me safekeep my belongings at the villa while I went surfing the next day.
There were 5 available rooms, but I was the only guest there.
There was good coffee in the morning

I would highly recommend a visit.

Carina, thank you very much for your review. It was a pleasure to host you. In the jungle villa almost anything is possible and allowed as you have experienced yourself. We want to give our guests a truly relaxed stay. The real Pura Vida. Surrounded by the scenery where Costa Rica is famous for: beautiful nature and many animals. Ad

  • The location of Jungle Villa was incredible. You stay right smack in the middle of the jungle with great ocean views. The room was large and comfortably accommodated four of us -each with our own bed. Jungle Villa is not, however, the place to stay for those not at least somewhat adventuresome. We killed four fairly large bugs (1-2 inch) inside of our room. Seeing bugs while staying in the jungle is no surprise; however, having bugs of this size in your room is not ideal. The screens on the windows had holes and gaps that weren't doing much from preventing the bugs from coming in. I will point out that once we killed the initial bugs and kept the windows closed, we didn't see any more bugs the following day.

Shawn, thank you for your review. Our animals incl. bugs sometimes behave like humans: they take a wrong exit and end up in the wrong place. In your case a few bugs in the room. As we explain on our website we advise guests to contact our staff whenever they see an animal in an unwanted place. Our staff will take the animal and place them back in the jungle where they belong.
The Jungle Villa property is full of animals, only because the villa's owners and staff protect all of them !!

  • We had a great time at the Jungle Villa. Rooms are basic but comfortable and the pool was a great addition as it is hot on the coast. The best part about this place is of course Monkey Hour which we enjoyed. Lots of animals on the property even more than the National Park. We also had the place to ourselves as it is low season. The staff were friendly and helpful and made our stay very enjoyable. For the price you will not find a better location in the MA area. Within minutes to the beaches and great restaurants. Little tip check out Sanchos Mexican restaurant for some amazing and cheap food. El Avion is over priced and service is weak. Cafe Milagro right across the road is also amazing.
Hope this helps anyone looking to come down to MA.
Thanks again Ad we will be back!

  • Very cool house with more monkeys crawling around it than you can handle!

  • What a wonderful experience. We got up very early in the morning and enjoyed photographing and videoing several dozen monkeys. We fed them fruit on the platforms provided and had so much fun watching the moms with the little monekeys on their backs. The common areas (there are 2 large bedrooms) were so fun and comfotable and the vistas so amazing that once we came back to the house, we just lounged around. Like Ad says it is truly a jungle house. Thank you for letting us stay at your wonderful home.

  • Jungle Villa was a great surprise to my friend and I. We knew the property looked special from the photos on Airbnb but it wasn't until we arrived that we realized just how unique and wonderful this house really is. From the moment you walk through the front gate, it's like stepping into your own private jungle hideaway. This place is teeming with wildlife as well. Monkeys, lizards, birds and more. If you like being next door to nature, you're going to love this place. It's also centrally located and within walking distance to many restaurants and shops. If you're looking for something different than your typical hotel experience, this place definitely deserves your consideration.

Brad, Thank you very much for your review. I could not have described better the feeling when you pass our gate and enter into a different world. Once you are in the villa it feels like you are far away from the rest of the World. You only see the jungle, the animals and the ocean. You are in your own private jungle hideaway!
Again, thank you for visiting the beautiful Jungle Villa.

  • My friends and I had an amazing stay at JungleVilla! It's in a great location—just a few minutes' drive from the beach and national park, very close to a lot of restaurants, and many of the locals we met knew JungleVilla by name. Our room was super clean and had tons of of space for the five of us to stretch out, and there was maid service and a change of clean towels every day. The common area is very large and relaxing and looks out onto the pool, and we even saw a bunch of monkeys come into the common area one morning! It was a great place to just hang out and take in the surroundings (and check email, if you do that sort of thing in Costa Rica ... haha). It's hot in JungleVilla, as it is everywhere in Manuel Antonio, but you can get a lovely breeze sitting out in the common area and there's A/C if you want it. Ad, the owner, is very friendly, accomodating, and helpful—he checked multiple times to make sure we were comfortable, and gave us lots of advice about everything from going to the beach to seeing wild animals to driving at night back to San Jose. He even graciously let us use the outdoor shower the night after we checked out so we could rinse off before heading to the airport, and saw us off and wished us a good journey. Overall we found JungleVilla very comfortable and welcoming, with incredibly lush surroundings, and were very sad to leave on our last day.

Angela, it was a real pleasure to host you and your friends in the beautiful Jungle Villa. I know you had a great time in Manuel Antonio. Guests are indeed always surprised they can also in the jungle reply their emails and message as anywhere else on this planet.
We love to see you coming back to Costa Rica. Don't let us wait too long!

  • We had such a wonderful time with Ad at Jungle Villa! Four of us stayed in the Big Room and had plenty of space. Cleaning service came through daily to make beds and empty waste pails. We saw large groups of Squirrel Monkeys and White-Faced Monkeys and had the opportunity to feed them fruit. Ad was very helpful and friendly and we enjoyed his company very much. The villa is located across the Byblos Hotel. We miss it there already!
