We spent a nice weekend in Barcelona. Marta has been a very kind host. This cozy apartment is well located, next to a subway station and quite central. Everything met our expectations and led to a nice stay.
We recommend warmely Marta, her apartment and Barcelona.
Martha was very kind and understanding, and his house located in a great neighborhood, full of life and very safe even at night. The apartment well furnished, comfortable and clean. Martha thanks for making our stay so enjoyable. When I return to Barcelona I will return to Martha.
This apartment/flat is outstanding! It is bright and open. The location is fantastic with everything you need minutes from the doorstep. I loved every morning walking down to the bakery two minutes away and bringing back the morning's fresh bread. Sometimes, it was still warm from the oven! The little terrace is wonderful. Marta was very thoughtful and supplied everything including a welcome bottle of red wine. The only tiny drawback is that sometimes the traffic noise on the main street was loud but really, such a small price to pay for such a lovely, sunny, well equipped, well located flat! Book it!
Marta's apartment was truly lovely, and airier than the pictures make it look, due to the high ceilings. Our favorite part of the apartment was the deck off the back, where we ate breakfast every morning and had wine and cheese and bread each evening as the sun went down (we needed that mini-meal to last until a 9:30 dinnertime!). We rented Marta's apartment because it was very close to our son's homestay, but it would be a great location for anyone - just a one-minute stroll to the Fontana metro station. And Gracia is a wonderful, funky neighborhood with great restaurants and quirky little boutiques - much more fun than staying in the touristy part of town! The bedrooms are small, with no storage at all in the front (double) bedroom - but since it was only my husband and me staying there, I used the second bedroom as a closet. My husband used the actual closet. If we'd had to, we could have both unpacked into the closet, although it is quite narrow. I especially appreciated having a washing machine, as we had spent 4 days in the Pyrenees before coming to Barca, so arrived with a lot of dirty clothes. When I needed more soap for the machine, I emailed Marta and - voila! - it was hanging on the front door the next morning. I didn't think we would use the study, but it came in so handy. With the wireless internet, we could plan out each day the evening before. We so appreciated the wine and fruit Marta left. I must say that the front (double) bedroom is right on the main street, and there are also some recycling bins right outside the apartment, so you do hear traffic until after midnight, and then the noise of people dumping their bottles into the recycling starting at about 6 am. I am not a light sleeper, but I did notice the noise. I would recommend bringing ear plugs.
Thanks for your comments. The rooms are small, as seen in the pictures but there is a dressing to make clothes, bags ....
The noise of the street, you're right, the system Recicling of Barcelona is a little crazy and the truck Recicling bottle it is.
If you are a light sleeper maybe You should bring earplugs.
A beautiful, bright, clean, comfortable apartment with everything you could wish for in an excellent location in Gracia. Located just two minutes' walk from Fontana metro station which is three stops from Placa de Catalunya. There are many shops, cafes and restaurants nearby, including a good supermarket one minute's walk away and an excellent patisserie just across the road. We enjoyed lunch twice on the terrace at the beginning of November!
Marta is a thoughtful host who speaks excellent English and we are looking forward to our next visit.
We have been at Marta's place 22 - 26 October. This very clean, suitable for 4 people, high-ceiling apartment is located 2 min. from metro station of Fontana. Everything you can need is supported [pans, glasses (even for champaigne), towels, forks-knives etc.]
House is very clean, illimunated by natural light, the tarrace is extremely relaxing and comfortable. Marta thinks everything for you. Complimentary wine and fruits were a nice gesture. Also you will find maps and what-to-do guides ready to use.
To cut a long story short this place is a wonderful choice if you gonna saty in Barcelona.
Thanks for everything Marta.
