Simple, clean, and quiet with a pool!

The Space

Thanks for looking. This is my personal bungalow, available occasionally when I am not using it or traveling.

This is a simple, cozy, private bungalow with nice gardens and swimming pool. This place is best suited for 1 or 2 guests who are independent on their own, as there are no on site services or staff, you will be on your own.

Located on Andong street next door to Prasanthi Holistic Center, and Tai wellness center. Andong street is the main center for UBUD handcraft wholesale market, from furniture, to fashion, antiques, and jewelry, and traditional handicraft.

Welcoming gardens, swimming pool, queen size bed, aircon, coffees & teas. This is my private place in a nice compound, safe and secure.

A Private Bungalow among beautiful royal themed gardens. This simple 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom, bungalow features Queensize bed, furnished in antique Balinese furniture. Enjoy evenings on the garden terrace, or poolside patio.

Bungalow features hot water shower and bathtub. Beautiful gardens showcase antique Balinese statues, pebbled stone pathways, and exotic poolside outdoor shower. Enjoy a rejuvenating swim in the large garden pool. Grounds and room are kept clean and sanitary, offering a relaxing and peaceful experience.

Upon arrival you will find fresh linens and towels as well as complimentary fresh drinking water, coffee and teas.

Ample free parking is provided, safe and secure.

Close walking proximity to a world of wholesale handicraft shops, furniture and fashion shops. Rice field trekking is a quick drive north to tegallalang, or head south for all the tourist district. Easy access to all the wonders of Ubud.

My place is about 1 KM from Ubud town center. A bit far for walking, so I highly recommend a motorbike rental during your stay. Ubud is very spread out, and you will see and experience the most via motorbike. Free wifi can be found at most cafe's around ubud. Also, there is no kitchen here, but food stalls, eateries and cafe's are everywhere, and one of the best parts about Ubud!!

I am available to help direct you to a motorbike rental or other special requests, any questions or requests will be answered promptly.

This is my private home, I use it frequently when I am in Ubud, so please verify dates with me prior to booking, and I hope you will enjoy it as much as I do.

Thank You
Ryan

  • Thank you Ryan, totally enjoyed our stay away from busy Ubud. Just perfect distance for exploring the more authentic corners, away from touristic buzz... Price/quality of stay is just a bargain! Matur Suksema!

  • A lovely, clean simple room. Ryan was very helpful and had great recommendations for local restaurants and even helped us organise our scooter. The pool was great too! Location is a short scooter ride out of town but on a great shopping street.

  • Ryan was a great host with an awesome spot in Ubud.
It was perfect for the 10 days we spent there and would have stayed longer had it not been booked! It's nice and close to the center of everything but far enough to feel like you are away from it all. We walked to town a few times but had a motorbike the entire time and since it was $3 a day, it couldn't have been more convenient to whip back and forth. I'm sure you will be as happy with Ryan's place as we were!

  • The spot is really far from the town center, if you have an engine it's better. There is no commodity around the house, the closest restaurant is not really good (and far). It's a perfect place if you want to relax, just plan to have Pop Mie soups and tea/coffee (there is a convenient hot and cold waterplant in the bathroom). Ryan was nice but we only saw him when we checked in.

  • Nice and quiet bungalow. Only point of 'complaining' was the airco who was making lots and lots of noise. It's an old thing. The neighbours are lovely btw and tell u much about Bali. And the pool was amazing for a morning swim! Make sure u have a scooter there :)

  • Okay, I’m going to try my best to make this purely factual and leave the emotionality and judgment out of it. Here's the history of my brief stay with Ubud Poolside Garden Chalet (I’ll bite my tongue on the name). I checked in on September 16th and was met by Ryan. He showed me the room, which appeared to be as described in his listing. After giving me the key, he left. After checking the availability of electrical outlets (there's one in the living area and one in the bathroom), I caught up to him and asked about an extension cord. His response, "You can buy one at the store down the road." When I asked him about renting a motorbike (his listing states that he "is available to secure motorbike rental") he stated, "Just walk down the street and someone will offer one to you. They're everywhere." Then he left, after telling me that he'd be back in a few days to change out the linens. Because I prefer walking, the first thing that I did was walk to the center of town, which, according to the listing is "about a mile to the town center ("Close walking proximity to a world of wholesale handicraft shops, furniture and fashion boutiques"). It took me at least 30 minutes to walk to the town center, and the walk was anything but pleasant - walking beside a two-lane road, on a crumbling sidewalk marked by gaping holes, under constant assault from vehicle fumes. Yes, a motorbike is a good idea. It's no place to walk. And I'm pretty darned sure that it's more than a mile (I may be old, but I'm not THAT slow), and it's definitely NOT "close walking proximity to a world of handicraft shops, furniture and fashion boutiques, which is what most folks would take to mean the center of town. I saw no tourists within a mile of this place. But that just kind of set the tone for a disappointing stay. The real problems occurred when I got home. Hot and sweaty and sick from exhaust fumes, I thought I'd just lie down for a bit in the air conditioning. I switched it on (a rusted, rattling contraption) and within minutes it and the rest of the electricity in the place went off. I stepped outside to see if anyone else was having a problem. The neighbors were sitting on their porch, and they too had lost power. Evidently EVERYONE in the compound had lost it. So the neighbor was nice enough to get up, walk over to the fuse box and flip the breaker. I thanked him, went back inside and turned the A/C back on, feeling a bit guilty because he and some friends were sitting in the quiet on his porch and...

  • Cute and cozy, a bit far from Ubud - 20min walk, 5min on scooter. Nice neighbors and Ryan is wonderful and friendly. Amazing amazing value. And the pool is awesome!

  • The Garden Chalet is a nice place, the rooms are big and provided of air conditioning and terrace where have breakfast (they provide you just tea and coffee).
is located quite far from the center of Ubud, so i recommend to rent a motorbike in order to go and come back to the homestay.
the bathrooms are also spacious and quite clean. i didn't tried the swimmingpool but it looked nice!

I am happy you found me on airbnb. I feel very blessed in my life and love to let others enjoy. I am offering my small bungalow on here for use when I am not using it or out of town. I just ask that guests treat my bungalow as if it were their very own, and feel at home. My favorite things are Asian Travel, caves, jungles, bats and monkeys, vintage films, vintage posters, classic automobiles, most especially quality time with good friends and my little dog Eden. As a host, its my wish to help you get your bearings, accommodate you as best I can. I hope your stay will be one of your easiest, most relaxing, simple stays.
