If you like our apartment please feel free to go ahead and book it! We have our instant booking set on so you can reserve immediately. If this unit isn't available for the dates you would like please have a look at our other listings as we have multiple units in the same building.
Please have a look at our photos and our walking tour around our neighborhood - that'll give you the best sense of our place! As shown in the photos, the building itself is a vintage Japanese apartment building built in 1971. Once you step inside this private apartment you’ll see a sharp contrast from your first impression outside. We just completed redesigning the interior of the apartments ourselves inspired by our own feelings and experiences living in Japan. We hand painted the dining area and kitchen using a pastel blue paint called “old cabinet” to give a light and airy feel to enjoy your dining experience. We contrasted the color of the apartment by painting the bedroom with a natural rich tone “army green jacket” paint which creates a serene ambiance. We then hand sawed locally grown natural Japanese pine which we used to panel the walls and evoke the feeling of Japanese nature. This natural Japanese pine paneled wall is what we call “the wall of inspiration” where we hang our favorite works that we think embodies the spirit of Japanese artistic tradition mixed with the nature of post-war Japanese culture and society.
The apartment itself is a spacious thirty two square meter one bedroom apartment (a lot bigger than most of the tiny studios in Tokyo!) located on the 5th floor and gets plenty of natural sunlight. From the balcony you have a city view and can even see Tokyo tower. There is a traditional Japanese style bath and shower. Utilities and high speed internet with wifi are all included, as well as all the other amenties to make your stay comfortable.
Our apartment’s location is the ideal base for exploring Tokyo. Our property borders Hinokicho park in Roppongi Tokyo Midtown and we are only a one minute walk from the entrance. Roppongi Tokyo Midtown is home to the Ritz Carlton Hotel (that’s how great the location is!) and a plethora of chic eateries and upscale bars. Our apartment offers fantastic transportation access as well. We’re only a five minute walk to Roppongi Station and Nogizaka Station. But if you want to enjoy the urban landscape by foot, Omotesando (Tokyo’s fashion district), Harajuku (street and pop culture Japan), Roppongi (nightlife and entertainment) are all within easy walking distance. There’s a large supermarket located in the Tokyo Midtown development, as well as ATMs/banks, Starbucks, restaurants, and boutiques.
ART, FOOD, CULTURE:
The National Art Center which is a massive venue with changing art exhibitions is only an 8 minute walk away. They have exhibitions of local artists with many interesting and unique pieces from all over Japan. From the apartment you can also take a leisurely stroll past Nogizaka shrine and continue on through Aoyama Cemetary which has beautiful sakura trees that blossom every spring. The road takes you down Omotesando dori which has some of the most unique architecture in the world. Continuing down Omotesando dori you hit Harajuku which is the epicenter of Japanese pop and street culture.
For you epicureans wanting to experience Japanese cuisine, you can easily walk to some of the best ramen, sushi, udon, and teppanyaki restaurants in Japan from our apartment. Just let us know what you’re interested in and we can help you out with your itinerary. We’re locals and can help you get off the beaten track.

A great stay! Good location, friendly and informative host with good recommendation! What's even better, is the pocket mobile wifi that comes in so handy as you wander around the streets of tokyo to the place you intend to visit! Will definitely come back again!
This is my second stay here and I really recommend it. It's in a great location, spacious, and very clean. Great base to see Tokyo from, and good for business travelers too.
Kazuko place is awesome in a great location, on the bigger side for a tokyo apartment with everything you need
Location, location, location. Really comfortable, Kazuko can help you with everything you need. I really recommend staying there. An amazing experience. Thanks a lot!!
The apartment has everything you need for a short stay in Tokyo. The location is perfect, in a quiet street near Roppongi & Akasaka neighborhoods, with plenty of restaurants and shops (Midtown Tokyo) and close to several subway stations. The hosts are really kind, helpful and fast in their replies. Mobile wifi was incredibly useful to find things while wandering in the amazing city of Tokyo.
Nick's apartment was in a brilliant quiet location close to the Rippongi metro station. Our family of four fit quite nicely and appreciated all mod-cons. Even though there were no issues Nick kindly contacted us to make sure all was going well at the apartment.
The stay here was absolutely fantastic! If you do not need a tv, there is nothing short of in this apartment. The portable WiFi device is excellent for travellers who do not have a local phone number. Checking in and out was easy and convenient. Apartment is only a few minutes walk from the nearest train station. The hosts were spontaneous when replying email and are extremely helpful! Highly recommended! Thanks again, Kazuko, Shozo and Nick
We stayed three nights at the apartment with our two children age four and six.
The place is perfectly situated close to a beautiful park just five minutes walking to the Roppongi metro station.
Small but enough space for us and well equipped including hair dryer and detergent.
Don't let the dated looks of the building scare you, it looks better inside the apartment and it has a beautiful view of the neighborhood from the little balcony.
If we ever return to Tokyo we'll hope this place is available.
Right by Tokyo Midtown and Roppongi but in a quiet street near a small park. Good size, washing machine and mobile wifi. Handy to everything, I'd use it again in heartbeat. Thanks Nick & co.
My spouse and I spent four nights at Kazuko Shozo Nick Oakridge's 5MIN to Riz Carlton Roppongi Apt C. First and foremost I must point out that all of the positive things writtten in previous reviews about this apartment are true, particularly and specifically that the location of this apartment is excellent. Really, we could not have appreciated the location more than we did. A stone's throw from a wonderful park, and a short walk from the Roppongi subway train station, this apartment is ideally located for getting to know Tokyo. There are plenty of restaurants and shops located within just a few minutes, including inside the new and shiny Tokyo Midtown hotel and office complex that also houses the subway stop. The apartment, while a bit on the small side, will probably fit all of the needs you have; it has a bed large enough for two persons, a small kitchen that can be used to prepare small meals, a bathroom with a shower, toilet and washing machine, and a small dining area. I should also highlight how helpful Kazuko Shozo was with directions to help us find the apartment; he included pictures and excellent verbal instructions to make it very easy. Overall, it was a great and easy place to stay.
