Loved staying in this apartment! Mark made me feel very welcome and met up with me outside the apartment as we had agreed upon! He walked me through the apartment and showed me where everything were and how stuff worked.
The apartment itself was exactly as described in the ad and it really gave me a great base for exploring Malta. There were guide books
There were a few downsides to be aware of though, the builders that are currently renovating the building across the street start work really early. It's not super loud or anything, but if you're light sleeper you might want to bring earplugs. And they will eventually finish of course. Also mosquitoes! They had a feast on me, so be wary if you want to enjoy the evening in the apartment with open balcony doors they will get you! It might be a seasonal thing do and none of the downsides should deter you from staying in the apartment (none of it is Mark's fault) - it's absolutely wonderful! You'll enjoy it here!
The description of this apartment is spot on. We really enjoyed the apartment and found the bed to be very comfortable. Showering was a little awkward as there is just a bathtub to sit in and the usual shower head on a cord, however it was hot water with good pressure. Mark was very accommodating and helped us up the stairs with luggage, showed us all around the apartment and the rooftop and also was kind enough to do a load of laundry for us in his apartment across the hall. (note - there is not a washing machine in the rental apartment). The wifi connection was excellent and he left us with lots of goodies in the kitchen, like coffee, olive oils, bottled water, pasta etc etc.
The location of the flat is brilliant. Lots of lovely restaurants/cafes really close by and that elusive pub around the corner for those searching for a pint.
One tip to travellers in spring/summer - keep the patio doors in the apartment closed during the early evening or you will end up with mosquitoes buzzing in your ear while you try to sleep.
Mark was very friendly and helped us to carry our luggage - the appartment is situated on the 5th floor. The appartement has tasteful furniture in retro style and is situated centrally in the historic centre of Valetta, which is amazing. A couple of excellent restaurants just around the corner. Disadvantages: No public parking space in that area - we immediatly got a ticket. No shower, only a hand shower in the comfortable bathtub, nothing to set coffee.
Mark est accueillant et serviable, son appartement est sur le même palier (si besoin). Attentionné, vin et biscuit à notre arrivée et nombreux renseignements sur les restaurants.
We liked staying here very much. Mark was pleasant and helpful, and best of all, he carried our bags up the five flights of stairs. The apartment is clean, bright, and spacious. The location can't be beat, and we enjoyed the views, especially when the carnival parade passed by below our windows.
