This is a private studio for rent. The bedroom portion is quite small but provides privacy from the living area. The studio accommodates 2-3 people, has hardwood floors, queen size bed, fold out futon, large living room, and basic kitchen with common amenities, exposed brick walls and great views of Down Town and the surrounding city scape. The building is an older quiet building, within a 10 min walk to the Metro Red Line which provides access as far north as North Hollywood and down to Union Station in Down Town. It's also less than a mile walk to Silver Lake, Hollywood, and a couple of miles distance to Griffith Observatory and the Hollywood sign. Centrally located near Los Feliz, Korea Town, and accessible to public transportation. I do have to admit that parking is challenging at times but this probably applies to much of LA. The studio is located in a safe working class neighborhood but is definitely urban. If you are comfortable being in an urban environment with a diversity of people then you will probably like staying here. What this studio lacks in glitz it more than makes up for in value, privacy, and understated simplicity.
With regard to the complaints on reviews about the uncomfortable futon, these guests for what ever reason did not realize there is a foam top mattress specially for guests sleeping on the futon which makes the futon as comfortable as a new full size mattress. As I've already mentioned this is an older building with character hard wood floors and other aged elements so it smells like an old building as one guest describes in her review. The studio itself makes up for any flaws the building might have specially since guests spend most of their time inside the studio.
No frills, efficient, pleasant.
Good location, great price. The apt. was clean and very well kept. Check in and parking are a bit tricky. Overall, a pretty good experience.
Bedroom Studio in East Hollywood was a nice place, enjoyed it! Thank you, Moises!
Check in was ok, but we had to contact Moses for some assistance. The room was simple and furnished minimally like the pictures. We would have preferred brighter lighting in the living room, but since it was a short stay, we didn't mind the red light.
Since we booked on an impulse we probably would have picked a less shifty location. Parking is fairly difficult at night so if you bring a car, make sure you have a buddy to walk to the apartment with you.
Good Price, very convenient location. Parking didn't seem to be an issue for us. Plenty of the overnight parking around the block as long as you move the car by 10:00am (2hr parking enforcement starts 8:00am). It is an older building so things are a little bit worn; keeping that in mind and there will be no surprises. Very nice view from the roof.
Moises is courteous and responsive. He was able to accommodate us checking in 1:00am in the morning, although it was a little difficult get the keys in and out of the lockbox.
This apartment was a really good choice!
It's very close to Hollywood and downtown LA, the bus station is directly in front of the door, it's only a ten minutes walk to the subway. You have a great view outside the window and everything you need within a few hundred feet (supermarket, restaurants, coffeeshop,...).
The apartment itself was mostly clean and provides everything you need.
Only critic is the kitchen (little bit dirty) and that there was no sheet for the matress for the third person.
Moises himself was really friendly and helpful.
All in all, we can only recommend this apartment because you get a great place for little money.
We loved Moises' place, had a romantic stay. Clean and as described, with an amazing view and lost of sunlight. Thanks!
Moises was a friendly and complete host. The apartment was well stocked with towels, toilet paper, and extra blankets and pillows for the futon. Moises was kind enough to keep in touch and make sure we got in and out ok, and when I, in an rushed early morning fog, was unable to get the keys back in the lock box, he was flexible and worked with me to return them.
The apartment was wonderful- clean and comfy with an empty desk I could work at, and a comfy bed. The block is somewhat sleepy and suburban, but a short 7 minute walk brings you to taco trucks, laundry, convenience stores and more "urban" vibes.
I was extremely grateful because I came to LA to shoot my first film and was completely overwhelmed- the smoothness of the air b & b experience, and my interactions with Moises, made everything easier. Thanks all around!
Good location. We drove down from Vancouver but it was pretty easy to find free street parking on all the close by streets. Tasty and very inexpensive Mexican food right around the corner and Moises was very easy going even though we booked only a few hours in advance. Right near Korea Town and the Griffith Observatory only a 10 minute drive away! Wish the elevator worked but otherwise a great place to stay in L. A.
