If you want to have fun on your trip to Austin, you've found the right listing! We live in one of Austin's best neighborhoods in a big house and we know how to have good clean fun. We'd love to have you join us for a few nights or a week.
You'll get a bike (or two) with your booking and we will gladly invite you to join us in whatever we are doing for that day.
Our house has 3 bedrooms and a few roommates who travel a ton. We only rent 1 bedroom out at a time so it will be you and us staying here when you rent on this listing. If you prefer the entire house, please see our other listing. We also have a room that comes with a tour of austin, and a room in the shared living space for cheaper. You can see those other listings on the right side of your screen.
We enjoy meeting new people and want you to see the best of austin. We live in the Zilker neighborhood which is within walking distance to Zilker Park (home of ACL) and Barton Springs Pool.
The short: Our house is huge. It's a dream location where you can walk or bike everywhere. The backyard is the best with an outdoor ping pong table, multiple hammocks, outdoor patio furniture, a slack line, a big picnic table, a BBQ grill, perfect grass, a croquet set, an adult trampoline, and an outdoor shower!
We have done AirBnB for two years and recently moved to this house with you in mind. Check out our 70 reviews and rest assured that we are completely legal with the City of Austin. We have alot of bikes that come with the rental too!
Attractions & restaurants within walking distance: Zilker Park, Barton Springs, Umlauf Sculpture Garden, Zilker Botanical Gardens, The Greenbelt, Chuy's restaurant, Uncle Billy's Bar and Grill, Baby Acapulco's restaurant, Thom's Market, Daily Juice, Austin Java, Flipnotic's coffee shop, Green Mesquite BBQ, and much more!
You can easily bike anywhere else in the city, and most of the times you can get there by biking the protected bike trail along the downtown river. The trails are safe, scenic, and fun.
The convention center is 1.9 miles away and is accessible by the bike trail system.
The Whole Foods Flagship Grocery store is 1.3 miles away. It is good for people who like to eat healthy. Its a grocery store but it also has several eat-in options as well.
Now, I'll go into more detail about the property:
Our living area is spacious. We have a fully stocked kitchen, three bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, and a 2 door garage. The backyard is massive and totally enclosed by a privacy fence.
Now for the PLAY part: We have a tons of toys and we don't mind sharing. Think of us as local guides and not just someone who passes you the key. We would love for you to borrow our kayaks or canoe, and you must ride our bikes around the town lake trail. For those who really like the play, I would love to take you scuba diving the spring water just down the hill, or you can borrow our snorkel gear and use it at Barton Springs. We also have golf clubs and disc golf frisbee's we wouldn't mind letting you borrow if you ask. The outdoor ping pong table even has it's own lighting so you can play after dark.
If you would rather have a chill night, we (email hidden) with the Apple TV box that lets you project your Iphone, Ipad, or macbook onto the screen or play your music through our speakers - all wirelessly!
We can also help you find: good mountain biking trails, some spelunking, hiking trails, a place to surf the river, the best lookouts, secret springs, and alot more. Search "Aaron Guidehop" to see where I give other people local tours of outdoor adventures.
If you need a rental car, we have those too! We rent using a site called relay rides. I bet you can find my convertibles on there. We also have motorcycles and scooters. One has a sidecar!
The bottom line: We live in huge house in the perfect neighborhood. You can ride our bikes anywhere you need to go and we will go out of our way to make sure you enjoy your time in Austin. What are you waiting for.... come Stay & Play!
Had a good stay at Aaron's in December. The weekend was unusally cold, but the house and room were always nice and warm. Aaron provided a run through of all the important stuff on arrival, and his flatmate was around on another day for more advice.
We had a great stay with Aaron and his housemate! The house is in a cute, quiet neighborhood in Austin and very centrally located to downtown. The house and hosts have a warm, welcoming feel and we'd love to stay in touch with them for when or if we move to Austin! Highly recommended!
Aaron, Aaron, and Andrew – were truly the A-Team as hosts and made my first airbnb experience a freaking hit. My boyfriend and I stayed here for 3 nights during the 2013 Austin City Limits Music Festival. Being our first airbnb experience, I wasn’t sure what to expect but I really can’t imagine another airbnb experience being so great. Aaron Bell and Aaron Winning – who seemed to be partners in hosting - and their roommate Andrew were incredibly kind, welcoming and accommodating – I was very impressed and heartened by my whole experience. On the second night of the festival, Aaron B invited us to join in a little get-together with the rest of the house and some of his friends at the house. Everyone was so much fun and we all stayed up playing cards and laughing and telling stories. It was pouring rain the second night when we came back from the festival and we were hungry and I wanted some sushi. Aaron W and Andrew were quick to give us a great tip on where to go and to call ahead because it would be crazy busy when we arrived. Then, Andrew gave my boyfriend a ride to go pick up the food! Something about the whole weekend reminded me of Peter Pan and the Lost Boys :) I was brought back to that genuine feeling of carefree joy you have as a kid. The Aarons and Andrew were also genuinely interesting, intelligent and curious boys/men which made them more fun to talk to. Aaron B made the check-in/out process super easy and he was great about keeping in contact when we had questions. The common areas, our private room, and the shared bathrooms were all very very clean. Our bed was super comfy and we had plenty of privacy when we wanted it. Oh, and I can’t forget the location! The place is Ideal for anyone attending ACL - just a few blocks away- and was a huge decision in booking the place – definitely worth the reasonable price – other locations we were looking at nearby were going for more than twice the cost per night! I fell in love with this city and these sweet boys put the cherry on top. I highly recommend staying here.
Aaron was a great host. The location (couple blocks from the river) alone was worth the very inexpensive price, and it was nice to have the bikes. I would definitely recommend staying here to anyone visiting Austin on a budget.
Aaron was very responsive to my same-day request, pre-approving my reservation and staying in touch throughout the day. The common areas, private room and shared bathroom were all spotless. It's a shame we never met, but Darby was a great hostess in Aaron's absence.
Stayed here for one night and enjoyed exploring the neighborhood. I took advantage of the bikes they offered and biked all throughout nearby Zilker Park, visited beautiful Barton Springs, ate at some of the nearby food trailors in the SoCo and Boudin Creek neighborhoods, and at night biked up to the famous honky-tonk music spot - The Broken Spoke - about a mile and a half away. The whole house is well-appointed and comfortable, and in a safe and charming residential neighborhood that - with a bike - was still accessible to everything I wanted to visit. Aaron was helpful and friendly, gave me all kinds of advice on what to do and see, and even invited me along with his friends to swim at Barton Springs. Traveling alone, I particularly appreciated his friendliness and openness to inviting me along to what he and his friends were doing!
Aaron was an amazing host, being more than welcoming and accommodating to my every need: drinks, tours, advice, the list goes on and on! The house is in a perfect location for all sorts of activities, with a bike to borrow to get every/any where. I would for sure stay again next time I'm in Austin.
We had a very comfortable stay in the Barton Springs neighborhood with Aaron. The house was adorable and suited for our needs (3 guests and a baby). Aaron was quick to respond and very kind and helpful as we were visiting from out of town. The house was at a great location, a quick car ride to downtown. I can't say enough good things about our trip-thanks to you Aaron for being such a great host!
Aaron was a great host. Helped me out last minute for a wedding I wanted to go to in Austin, and also let me borrow his bike while I was in town. I love riding around Austin. Room was great, bathroom was clean, everything I needed was there. Would stay with again for sure. Thanks Aaron!
