Casa Altura was fantastic! We highly recommend a trip to the central mountains and this is a great place to stay. Adam was a super host and bent over backwards to make our trip more enjoyable.
Casa altura is perfect! Go there for at least 2 nights, more is better. You'll find yourself in a symphony of coquis and birds. We caved, went to arecibo and enjoyed the natural beauty just out the door at Casa Altura. Adam's a great host as are his aunt/uncle. Adam's the best - go here, or to any of his properties!
Thx for everything Adam, had a very nice and stress free time at your place. Everything lived up to expectations and more..Your aunts meals were great and timely. Your help in every aspect was very much appreciated and we will definitely be returning to your lovely home.. Jim and Vanessa and kids... Again, thank you
My girlfriend and I had a great experience staying at Casa Altura in March for one night. The home is huge, with a large kitchen, dining room, living room, and multiple bedrooms. It is protected by a gate into the property, which made us feel secure. There are even complimentary games in one of the bed rooms, which was a nice surprise.
The house is definitely off the beaten track, about 40 minutes drive from Utuado on winding mountain roads. Adam's directions were excellent, and we had no issues finding the place. If you're going to be staying in the central PR area, and accessing local attractions like coffee plantations or caving tours, this is an excellent place to stay. It's an excellent value, and would be great for a family.
Adam was friendly and quick to respond to any questions we had about the house and location. We rented three places from him over three nights, and he worked hard to fit us in less than a week before we got there. I cannot recommend his properties any more highly, great value.
Beautiful location! After 10 nights in luxury resorts on the coast, it was such a refreshing change to come to this rustic and authentic corner of PR. Adam was a great host - very easy to reach via texting, and provided excellent directions to this off-the-beaten-path property. The house itself is very basic, clean and efficient. My husband and I found the bed quite uncomfortable, and the linens were thin and synthetic - but for the price, what can one expect? My kids LOVED the bunk bed, so the majority of our little party was unreservedly thrilled. A great value - we were especially grateful for Adam's referral to Batey Ziplines - such a magical experience!
I am glad you and the kids enjoyed your stay with us as this area is spectacular. I apologize for the comfort of your bed. Had I known we could have switched the mattress from one of the other beds. Thank you for the feed back. I will have it switched for future guests. See You Soon!

We loved the beautiful, mountainous area and had a great time relaxing, hiking, and enjoying the quiet. The house was very clean, spacious and well-appointed - we were able to do all of our cooking using the well-stocked cooking utensils, so that was a big plus! Adam was responsive and helpful.
Our only minor issue was the beds, which were a bit uncomfortable and tricky to sleep in as a couple, as the two rooms contain multiple sets of bunk beds as pictured (great for families!). We set ourselves up in one of the double beds located as the bottom bunk underneath a twin bed, but had trouble moving around in them throughout the night (we're both tall).
Still, we had a great experience overall and would definitely consider returning!
This was a great space. Clean, efficient, quiet and just an excellent getaway from the city. Well worth the stay and wouldn't mind checking out his other properties.
The owner is super responsive and very nice.
We loved Utuado! This review is for Adam's other "Cozy" property. Originally, we booked a one night stay at MountainTop. However, before our stay, Adam contacted us and asked if we would be willing to stay in his Cozy property with a free meal for any inconvenience. We agreed to the change. The home was clean and comfortable. The hosts, Emma and Hector are gracious. We had two meals - breakfast and dinner. The food was better than what we encountered at many other criollo restaurants during our stay in Puerto Rico. We spent time on the porch, listening to coqui songs, watching them hop along, sharing fireflies with our baby, and breathing in the fresh air. We highly recommend Adam and his home.
Adam was an excellent host; helpful and seemingly always available via SMS. The MountainTop 2 Minutes From a River house was great, and set pretty far back in some mountains.
