-A bargain room in a safe New Orleans neighborhood.
-Jay was friendly and informative.
-Close to the Garden District, Lafayette Cemetery #1 and 2 and street car stations.
-Nicely and colorfully decorated.
-Rooms, bathrooms and kitchen were clean.
-Coffee and coffee maker and tea were available as well as full fridge.
-If you're going to spend the majority of your time in the French Quarter, this may be a little bit far out of your way.
-Some of the carpeting was pretty ragged, there were some busted window screens and the window A/C was ineffective and was missing the temperature adjustment dial.
We had an awesome stay at Jay's place. He welcomed us when we arrived and was always available if we had any questions or needed recommendations. The room is perfect for two people and also the rest of the appartment is nice to hang out.
Really good experience, I would stay there again.
Listing was accurate and stay was comfortable. ..very close to the downtown area....I liked it..
Our stay was awesome here. Jay was there to greet us when we arrived. He showed us around the house and even offered lots of suggestions for where to go and how to get around. I liked that there was a lock on the room so we didn't worry about our things. The house itself is very comfortable and the neighborhood was safe even when we came back at 2am. It was also very quiet even though you aren't far from just about everything. I hardly noticed the others staying at the house and it was never an inconvenience. Will definitely remember this next time we're in New Orleans.
Jay was very polite both before and upon our arrival. He also recommended places for us to eat and hang out. The neighborhood was a very nice residential area with lots of shotgun homes.
Had a bit of confusion finding the place initially, but it was cool once everything got sorted out and I got settled. Jay was a helpful and friendly host, did what he could to make sure people were taken care of.
The place was well decorated, I enjoyed hanging out in the living during the time before other guests arrived, though it got a bit crowded after that (2 couples showed up on the last night I had there). The price at the time was a tad high for not having a private bath, but fortunately I had the run of the place at first so it was pretty nice in that regard.
Good experience overall, came through for me at the last minute. Would stay again.
We stayed at Jay's place for a long weekend in December. Jay was very helpful and quick to respond with to any question. He helped us a lot getting bicycles that were comfortable to ride. The place was clean and the bed was comfortable. The location was a bit far from the traditional sights of New Orleans. There are buses that are within walking distance, but they only run about once an hour. Cabs to and from the French Quarter are around $12. If you are a comfortable bike rider that will help with your transportation a lot. At night we'd take a bus into the French quarter and a taxi back.

Ok, about me I'm a proud born & raised New Orleanian who loves meeting new people, exchanging interesting stories, cheering on the Saints (Who Dat?), and simply having a good time. I believe there is humor in nearly all we do. I'm well traveled, outgoing and friendly really look at my pics lol!I have walked the stairs of the Acropolis in Athens; tasted a grain of sand at the base of the Pyramids on the Gaza Strip; tossed a U.S penny off the top of the Eiffel Tower in Paris; and partied all night in Bangkok like a hip-hop mogul with $80. I have gotten lost in Rome; hitchhiked a ride to Vatican City; eaten coca leaves and enjoyed the beer in Bogota; and had jerk chicken and Red Stripe in Montego Bay. I have sailed the canals of Amsterdam; partied in Cancun and rode scooters & snorkled in Cozumel and almost got hustled by a cabbie in San Jose, CR. Lastly, I survived Mardi Gras in Nawlins w/ no hangover...Amazing! As a Airbnb host, I look forward to extending "The Big Easy" experience to my guests. Stay at The Monte Cristo or The Casa Blanca (Located directly next door). Check them out I might just have the space for you.
