Great views of the marina and sea with minimal stairs to climb (just 22!). Imagine yourselves sitting out with a glass of wine on the balcony, soaking in the culture and living like a local in Old World Italy. Yep, that can be you!
An apartment with a balcony with a very nice view of the marina and the sea! The apartment is located within the characteristic marina of Riomaggiore but with relatively few stairs to reach it (a rarity in this area!). The apartment offers a bedroom with a queen-size bed, a small back bedroom (ideal for children or teens) with two single beds, a bathroom (with a shower, sink, bidet and toilet), a small kitchen (with fridge, sink, an electric stovetop with two burners and an oven), a sitting room area with a divan as well as a table and chairs for dining, and a balcony with great views. While the balcony is not large enough to dine on, it is possible for two persons to sit out on it and enjoy a glass of wine. As this is an apartment like those that locals live in, there is no A/C (it's just not a part of the culture here).
It takes less than a minute walking to reach the seaside from the apartment and just two or three minutes to reach Riomaggiore's public beach (which is rocky/pebbly). To reach the apartment from the Riomaggiore train station it takes approximately five minutes walking. To reach the main street (where you can find shops, restaurants, bars, etc.) it takes just two minutes walking.
Please note that WiFi is NOT available in the apartment, but there are plenty of places nearby (bars, restaurants, etc.) that offer it.
As I have a toddler at home I ask that all guests please check-in prior to 5pm on their day of arrival. Thanks for your understanding!
Other Things to Note
Please note that I will accept a one-night stay *only* if you see on my calendar that there is a "hole" for just one night between existing reservations. Grazie!
Our local city government has recently adopted a new "city tax" (known in Italian as "tasso di soggiorno"). The city tax is applies to those staying in Riomaggiore between March 1st and October 31st and the tax is 1 euro per person, per day (for a max. of 3 days). You will need to pay this tax to us directly upon arrival, in cash (as we will then have to fill out the proper forms and submit the tax to city hall).
Please keep noise to a minimum on the balcony in the evening and night hours. It is permitted to smoke ONLY on the balcony, but please do not throw cigarette butts (or anything else) from the balcony.
Only registered guests are permitted inside the property (sorry, no guests).
Before checking out, please ensure that all dishes have been washed, that all lights have been turned off (and in the winter the heat, too), windows and shutters have been closed and that all garbage has been placed in the bins. Thanks!
Amy's apartment was perfect for our two night stay in Riomaggiore. It was comfortable, clean, & had everything we needed. We didn't cook, but the kitchen seemed to have the basics.
Amy was awesome, met us at the train station ( even though we were a bit late, thanks Amy!) and she took us to the apartment, & gave us plenty of helpful info, including train schedule, where to eat, where to hike, etc.
We definitely recommend her place :)
When we arrived by car to Riomaggiore we thought we'd have some problems considering the fact that driving is rather restricted. Francesco and Amy explained everything to us in perfect clarity, and Francesco was there to meet us and square us away. The apartment is rustic and comfortable, and the view down the marina is simply wonderful. There are some steps which prove a challenge to heavy packers, but it is certainly a breeze compared to other locations in Cinque Terre. The place is close to restaurants (La Lampara and Dau Cila are must-tries — a minute away on foot!) and to the train station.
What is perhaps the best part is the hospitality and warmth Francesco and Amy displayed. Such a lovely couple to chat with! They are so helpful and their love for the place (and French Bulldogs!) is palpable. Definitely recommending this place to friends!
The Giando Apt. was as advertised. We had a wonderful time. The balcony had a beautiful view. The apartment was quiet but in the middle of Riomaggiore. Amy's husband was very helpful at check in.
November is a quieter time with not as many tourists but plenty of places to eat we had 2 days of beautiful weather (in the 60's) and one day of rain in the morning.
The apartment was perfect! I arrived late but Amy was accommodating with my late arrival and the view from the terrace was everything that I imagined! I slept peacefully to the sound of the ocean crashing outside, I can't recommend this place enough!
Amy greeted us warmly and helped us find the apartment, which is in a wonderful setting right near the harbor. We had a great stay in Cinque Terre, and we loved the apartment. My wife and I had coffee on the balcony each morning as the sun rose, and we also enjoyed the beautiful sunsets.
We had a perfect experience! Within 5 minutes of meeting Amy, she had already given me more useful information about the Cinque Terre than I had received during our entire trip. (Too bad I was meeting her on our last night!)
The apartment was clean, spacious and had everything we needed. The balcony is really special! We also ate at a restaurant which had been recommended to us by Amy and it was the best food we had in Italy! Yum!
The best part about staying here (for me) was that there was absolutely no drama. Amy provides perfect instructions for how to find the office and checkin was a breeze. (No waiting in a random location to meet your host.) Then you are provided with all of the information you could possibly need in order to get around effectively, eat well and enjoy your stay. I really appreciated her organization and the level of thought that she has put into every detail.
Thanks so much for a wonderful stay!!
