Great views of the marina and sea with minimal stairs (just 22!), a rarity for this area! Imagine yourselves sitting out with a glass of wine on the balcony, soaking in the culture and living like a local in Old World Italy. Yep, that can be you!

The space

An apartment with a balcony with a very nice view of the marina and the sea! The apartment is located within the characteristic marina of Riomaggiore but with relatively few stairs to reach it (a rarity in this area!). The apartment offers a bedroom with a queen-size bed, a small back bedroom (ideal for children or teens) with two single beds, a small bathroom (with a shower, sink, bidet and toilet), a small kitchen (with fridge, sink, an electric stovetop with two burners and an oven), a sitting room area with a divan as well as a table and chairs for dining, and a balcony with great views. While the balcony is not large enough to dine on, it is possible for two persons to sit out on it and enjoy a glass of wine. As this is an apartment like those that locals live in, there is no A/C (it's just not a part of the culture here).

It takes less than a minute walking to reach the seaside from the apartment and just two or three minutes to reach Riomaggiore's public beach (which is rocky/pebbly). To reach the apartment from the Riomaggiore train station it takes approximately five minutes walking. To reach the main street (where you can find shops, restaurants, bars, etc.) it takes just two minutes walking.

As we have two little ones at home we ask that all guests please check-in prior to 5pm on their day of arrival. Thanks for your understanding!

Please note that we provide bed linens & bath towels (one per person) with the apartment. We do not provide shampoo or other toiletries.

Interaction with guests

Guests are welcome to message us here on AirBnB should they have any questions. Also, we have an office located in the historic center and guests are welcome to pop by to say hello.

Other things to note

Our local city government has recently adopted a new "city tax" (known in Italian as "imposta di soggiorno"). The city tax is applies to those staying in Riomaggiore between March 1st and October 31st and the tax is 1 euro per person, per day (for a max. of 3 days). You will need to pay this tax to us directly upon arrival, in cash (as we will then have to fill out the proper forms and submit the tax to city hall).

Be sure to have your passports (or at least photocopies of them!) handy upon arrival as we will need to register your presence with the local police department (this is Italian law).

While the apartment is usually ready for check-in by 2pm, we can usually accommodate earlier arrivals by holding luggage at our office until the apartment is ready for you (but be sure to message us in advance if you plan to arrive earlier in the day).

Our village has a door-to-door recyclying program, which can be pretty confusing for non-residents. If you separate your recyclables (glass, plastic, paper) from your non-recyclable waste we will take care of it for you. If you have quite a few things to recycle and you don't want to keep them in the flat, you're welcome to pop them by our office. Thanks for helping to keep our village (and planet) green!

One last thing...
Please be sure to actually PRINT OUT your AirBnB confirmed itinerary after booking. On this sheet you will find lots of important details, like directions to where we meet (which is not at the apartment itself), our contact numbers, etc. Grazie!

We are required to collect the local city tax upon arrival (we will need this in cash). The city tax is €1 per night, per person, for max. 3 nights. We are also required by law to fill out passport details for all guests staying with us. Please have those (or a photocopy) ready for us when you arrive. Grazie!

Smoking is not permitted in the apartment or on the balcony.

Please turn off all lights and close the shutters when exiting.

Before checking out, please ensure that all dishes have been washed and the apartment has been left tidy. We don't currently charge a cleaning fee, please help us keep it that way. Grazie!

Please do not remove the white towels or any other bed linens or blankets from the apartment (they are NOT for beach use as they will stain and be ruined).

Only registered guests are permitted inside the property (sorry, no other guests).

Out of respect for our neighbors, please keep noise to a minimum in the apartment, on the balcony and in the common stairwell in the late evening and early morning hours. Thank you!

Amazing location and a reasonable price. Loved the view so so much and getting to see the water from the deck at sunset every night made the place worth it alive. Place was as advertised, bathroom a bit cramped but we appreciated the kitchen and dining table especially. Francesco was gracious and super helpful. Would highly recommend to anyone headed to Cinque Terre!

Great location for people watching from the apartment. We had two young children (5&7) and they were able to sleep in the back room while we sat on the balcony and watched people walking through for hours at night. Decent kitchen that we used to cook breakfast every morning and nice to eat takeaway with real plates and utensils. Apartment is up some stairs but for most folks it is more charming than inconvenient. Very easy to get to main town road, restaurants, marina, and train station from. They even had some beach items we could borrow for a trip to Monterosso beach.

The apartment was super centrally located and has a balcony that faced into the marina, which was the best part.
