We had an amazing time here! Oreanda is amazing--it provided everything that we needed: a relaxing place to come back to, beach chairs, and snorkeling equipment. Tyler is a great host -- really friendly, kind, and generous. The views at Oreanda are stunning and you really do feel like you are in the middle of the rainforest. Tip: I would definitely recommend bringing and using bug spray
This was our 3rd trip to Vieques but our first stay at Oreanda. I only wish we had known about this wonderful spot before. The setting is lovely--a main house with pool with distant ocean views and two cottages set back, one of which has its own distant ocean views from the covered porch. The accommodations were very comfortable and the location is perfect--the house is just above the village of Esperanza. It's just a quick drive to all the Esperanza "action" and yet far enough away to feel secluded. One of the cottages has an outdoor shower, which is lovely. The pool is a great place to hang out if you're not feeling up to getting to one of the many gorgeous beaches and, for the occasional rainy day, the porch is a great place to play cards or other games found in the cottages. Almost as lovely as the view is Tucker, who manages the property. Hands down he is the most friendly, helpful, welcoming host I have ever met in my travels. He knows everyone on the Island and everything about it. And he's just a great guy to share and end of the day beer with. A couple of things to keep in mind--Oreanda is not a 5-star boutique hotel (if that's what you want you're probably looking at the wrong island). It's beautiful and it's comfortable and it's well located and it's friendly--no place better on the island. But (mercifully) Vieques is not St. Bart's. Perhaps of note for some folks, Oreanda is on a primary road that I would characterize as moderately busy. This had absolutely no impact on my spouse but I did notice it. There's also a residence directly behind the cottages. It's not visible because of the lush landscaping but on the weekend when the family was home all day we did notice. I would emphasize that these are very minor matters and I include them only so that you won't be surprised. We plan to book again next year because it's difficult to imagine and better place. Plus there's Tucker . . .
What can I say even more beautiful than expected. We were greeted at the airport by Tyler and he gave us a ride to the car rental place. Once we got to the property it was jaw dropping. We were even guided as to the best places to go, not to mention that the location was perfect.
The property was clean and had all the amenities you would need except wifi but really why would you need that when on vacation.
Needless to say I highly highly recommend.
My boyfriend and I had a lovely 6 night stay at Oreanda! We were greeted at the airport and driven to our rental car and then were given a tour around Isabel Segunda to orient us to where the supermarket and other good stores/restaurants were in the area. Then we were guided to our casita.
It was a clean and bright 1 room apartment and surrounded by lush greenery. I enjoyed the various salamanders/lizards running about and seeing horses and chickens wander by occasionally. As can be expected in this region, there are some large spiders that keep to their webs, and then some other spiders that do wander indoors so we were pretty vigilant about watching out for those. Something to note for those who prefer privacy...the bathroom is not a separate room as it is has a louver door and is not blocked off at the ceiling either.
The pool was a refreshing treat to enjoy after visiting the beaches. The lounge chairs were comfy and it was a private, beautiful spot. We enjoyed meeting our "neighbors" in the other casita. We wound up cooking dinner a couple times at home thanks to the cookware. The fridge was large enough to hold drinks, breakfast foods, and some small containers of leftovers. Like anywhere in the tropics, just clean up very well to avoid the ants!
The beach chairs were great!
I would not advise walking anywhere on the roads- You have to be extremely careful while driving on the narrow, winding roads as residents whip around curves, pull in front of you at will, and don't share the road very courteously. Walking around the Malecon and Isabel is fine as folks tend to drive slowly through there.
There are places to recycle on the island which was helpful as we did wind up relying on bottled water/drinks for most of our beverages.
You will enjoy your time at Oreanda!
We had an amazing stay, loved the location. Close to everything but not too close. View was spectacular. Tyler was wonderful picking us up and taking us to car rental and even sharing a beer with us was also super responsive. Was a wonderful stay and we wished we could stay longer. Our casita was great, I would suggest a refresh on linens and pillows but other than that was perfect. Would definitely stay again.
Our stay at Oreanda was fantastic! Great location near Esperanza- so we could drive down to Dulce de Esperanza each morning and get a coffee and something sweet then head out for the day's adventures. Very clean and private space. Everyone who helped us out- checking in and out of the villa, picking us up from the Airport, driving us to our rental car location- was amazing. Wish we had a longer trip to take advantage of the pool and grill! Perfect location up away from everything but still close to it all!
Casita Verde was perfect. Quiet, clean, comfortable & well equipped. The location is great, up on the hill you'll sleep with a nice breeze. Beach chairs and cooler make it easy to stock up and spend the day at the beach. Views are wonderful and the pool take it over the top. Will return for sure. Tyler, the property manager knows the island front and back and was very helpful and pleasant. He picked us up at the airport drove us to the car rental ( Avis) and the showed us the way to the casita. Can't think of a better place to stay : )

My favorite beaches in Vieques are Blue Beach, Navio and Silver Beach :)
Five things in Vieques I can't live without are the pristine beaches (obviously!), grabbing lunch at the Sol Food truck and heading to the beach, sunset by the pool with a cold drink in hand, amazing dinners especially at El Quenepo and Next Course, and hiking down the arroyo to Black Sand Beach.
Enjoy Puerto Rico!!!
