The space
Hyggebui is a small and cosy mountain cabin, perfect for two people looking for a simple and relaxing mountain getaway.

The cabin has electricity, electric heating, a small kitchenette and a comfortable seating area. The double bed is made up before your arrival, and bed linen is included in the price.

The kitchenette has everything you need for simple meals, including a hot plate, refrigerator, kettle, coffee machine and essential cooking equipment. Please note that there is no running water in the cabin.

Bathrooms, toilets, showers and dishwashing facilities are available in our shared service building, located approximately 70 metres from the cabin.

Hyggebui is located above the tree line, surrounded by open mountain landscapes, fresh mountain air and excellent hiking opportunities right outside the door.

Tyinstølen Café is open during Easter and the summer season (June–August).

Our wood-fired sauna can be rented as an optional extra if you would like to relax after a day in the mountains.

Tyinstølen offers excellent outdoor activities year-round, with mountains, lakes and beautiful highland scenery right outside your door.

Tyinstølen is located 1,100 metres above sea level on the shores of Lake Tyin, surrounded by open mountain landscapes and spectacular views towards Jotunheimen.
From the property, you can see iconic peaks such as Uranostind and the Uranos Glacier.

The area is a perfect base for outdoor adventures throughout the year. In summer, hiking and cycling trails start right outside your door, while winter offers excellent opportunities for cross-country skiing, ski touring and other mountain activities. Several great fishing lakes can also be found nearby.

Just behind Tyinstølen rise the peaks Tyinstølsnosi and Galden.
Both can be reached on relatively easy day hikes and reward visitors with breathtaking panoramic views.

For alpine skiing, Filefjell Ski Resort is approximately 20 minutes away by car and offers several slopes and ski rentals.

A simple frisbee golf course is available on the property and can be used free of charge. Discs can be rented from us.

An Easee Type 2 EV charger (up to 11 kW) is available on the property.

Tyinstølen is also a popular stop for hikers travelling between mountain lodges and serves as a convenient starting point for trips to Fondsbu, Thomashelleren and Slettningsbu.

The nearest grocery store is located in Tyinkrysset, about 15 minutes away by car.
For a wider selection of shops and restaurants, Øvre Årdal is approximately 30-40 minutes from Tyinstølen.
