Thoughtful details and a caring host
Guests describe a cozy, thoughtfully designed retreat and praise Alexis as a responsive, caring host.
With rustic charm, the custom-built "Darling A" was crafted using materials from an 1800s barn and locally harvested cedar from our property. Expansive windows fill the cabin with natural light throughout the day and offer a glimpse of Burke Mountain, forest and wildlife. Almost every piece of the aframe has its own history, as many of the items were thoughtfully curated from the surrounding area.
The property offers direct access to the Kingdom Trails network and VAST via Culvert Cut/Hog Back.

Inside, this cozy retreat has three levels connected by a spiral staircase. There are two unique sleeping spaces - the open loft has a king-size bed while the first floor bedroom has large picture windows and a queen-size bed. The loft has access to a roofdeck that overlooks sunset. There is a full spa-like bathroom on the main level with a large shower and a half bathroom downstairs. The main floor is an open floor plan with a kitchen equipped with a top of the line Z-line stove and a living room with a wood stove and vintage stereo system. Downstairs offers endless entertainment with a 1980's jukebox with original 45s, a 1960s foosball table (Real Madrid vs Barcelona), Smart TV, and a Pacman and Galaga arcade game.
The spiral staircase is open from the main floor and is necessary to access the basement and the loft. Please take this into consideration when booking your stay.

Other things to note
•Weekends and holidays require a 3-night minimum stay, including both Friday and Saturday nights. Airbnb may still allow you to request a 2-night stay, but this doesn't always reflect our availability. If you're hoping to book just 2 nights, please send us an inquiry before booking. If we're able to accommodate your request, we'll be happy to let you know.
•The Kingdom Trails typically close for mountain biking around October 31 and reopen for fat biking once conditions allow. The trails close again during the spring thaw and usually reopen in mid-May.
•Occasionally, a fire ban is in effect during April or May. If one is in place during your stay, the outdoor fire pit cannot be used. We'll let you know in advance if a fire ban is in effect.
•The driveway is plowed throughout the winter, but a 4WD or AWD vehicle is recommended.
•Commercial photography is permitted with prior approval.
•The outdoor shower is unavailable during the winter and whenever temperatures are below freezing.
•While the A-frame offers a peaceful and private setting, there are two neighboring homes visible from the property.
The property offers direct access to the Kingdom Trails network and VAST via Culvert Cut/Hog Back.
