About This Listing
-Antwerp city center is very easy to reach
-Quiet and cosy room
I offer you a nice room (perfect for 1 or 2 people) on the first floor of a house, located in Linkeroever, on the left bank of the Scheldt river.
The city centre of Antwerp, with many bars and restaurants, is just a 5 minute-subway ride away! Or you can walk there through the 'Sint-Anna tunnel', only available to cyclists and pedestrains, which will take you about 15 minutes.
The nearest subway and the tunnel are both only 100 metres away from the house, so you will be super-close to the city centre, and yet you will be staying in a relatively quiet and green area! The best of both worlds in Antwerp ;-)
There are 3 floors in our house: on the third floor is an office; the second floor is where we live; and a part of the first floor will be yours. You will have this to yourself: there is a cosy living room with TV, a fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher (although you will sometimes have to share the fridge with my husband - our own fridge is not enough for him :-), your own toilet, and even your own balcony. The shower and the washing machine are on the ground floor.
You can sleep in the sofa bed (perfect for two people) and we will make sure that you have towels and blankets.
There is wifi, although it's a little slow sometimes!
Linkeroever offers you a great view of the Antwerp skyline and has lots of nice and green places. The house is on a rather busy street, but at night everything is very quiet. Next to my house is a bakery, and a supermarket is only one block away.
My granddaughter and I will provide you with all the needed information about Antwerp.
You will have your own keys, so you can come home whenever you like.
If you are interested in this cosy room, with your own kitchen, balcony and private toilet: don't hesitate to send a message.
! Please book at least 1 week in advance !
I hope to welcome you soon!
-part of the first floor (+ private toilet)
-the entire balcony
-the shower on the ground floor
Interaction with Guests
We have our own apartment upstairs, so we won't bother you. Of course you can always ask us questions! Upon arrival, we'll show you the room and hand over the keys.
-Smoking: only on the balcony
-You will only have access to the ground floor and (part of) the first floor
-Please think of the neighbours: quietness is required
We had a great time at Nana's room, even though we only could spend one night in Antwerp. Everything was (even better) as per description! Very friendly and sincerely welcome, a big, cosy, clean and quiet room and close to the city centre.
When we will visit Antwerp again, we will come back!
Thanks Julie and Nana! :-)
We had such an enjoyable stay at Nana's home. The house was accessible, clean and peaceful. The directions given were excellent and our hosts were both friendly and thoughtful.
All our needs were definitely satisfied. Thanks Nana and Julie for hosting us! We will come back and stay again if we are ever in Antwerp, all the best!
The reservation was canceled 3 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
Julie and her grandparents were fabulous hosts - kind, warm, helpful and always available. I truly enjoyed their company and having interesting conversations with them. They also made an excellent effort to keep the room clean, neat and well equipped - it was spacious, comfortable, homely and even posh, with a nice verandah, kitchen and bathroom. Though the place is not in the city centre, a short tram ride of ten minutes or a great underground link for cyclists n pedestrians will take you to the centre. I had a very enjoyable n relaxing stay, thanks Julie n Nana!
Even if not in the old town, the location is very good to reach.
The house is very nice and the people are very welcoming.
Unfortunately, I had only a short time to visit Antwerp so we could not have so much contact.
About the Host, Nana
My real name is Marie, but my children and grandchildren have called me 'Nana' since decades. I'm an 'eighty-something' (but with a young mind!) and I like piano music, cooking and reading. I've lived in Antwerp my whole life and am very proud of my city.
I live in a house that is actually getting a little too big for me! I have my own apartment on the second floor.
I'd love to welcome enthusiastic travellers in my house. You will have the first floor to yourself: there is a cosy living room, a kitchen, your own private toilet and even your own balcony.
Of course I will be happy to get to know you, and to make sure that you have everything you need! (towels, blankets etc.)
My granddaughter Julie will provide you with lots of information about Antwerp. She is also the one who's in charge of this profile, because my computer skills are not that good :-)
