  • Robyn & Brian's space is the perfect getaway! The room, bathtub, and balcony are ideal for relaxing. And cute restaurants and shops are just a short walk away. A warm muffin and fresh fruit in the morning along with the ocean view is the best. Robyn and Brian are wonderful hosts - attentive and accommodating while also very respectful of their guest's privacy. They were quick to respond and incredibly helpful when planning the trip. I wouldn't change a thing about my stay and would highly recommend it!

  • This place is the best. I absolutely recommend this home to anyone. The house is a beautiful old house, newly renovated, clean, bright. As a guest you get the privacy of the whole top floor, beautiful bathroom with a clawfoot tup and skylight. Each morning the hosts leave fresh muffins outside your bedroom door. Combine these delicious treats with the morning view of the ocean - Paradise.
Brian and Robyn are incredibly kind and generous, hospitable in every way, happy to help out but not intrusive in any way.
I cannot say enough good things. Lovely place.

  • Excellent location and view. Hot muffins and fresh fruit provided and you can eat in your room at a cute little table overlooking the ocean and watch the boats go by, people jogging and happy dogs playing! My mother and I are already talking about making an annual visit to see family and stay here as a nice quiet getaway. Thank you for your excellent hospitality!

  • My friend Lindsey came to visit me in Seattle and we wanted to take an adventure somewhere in Canada together! I've heard such great things about Victoria, so we decided to make our way there. We found this adorable room in Robyn and Brian's home and were very excited that they let us stay with them! Both were amazing at communication both before our trip and while we were there and we really felt at home the whole time. We were looking for a relaxing place to stay, and this was the perfect fit! Warm muffins in the morning complete with some fresh fruit and orange juice put each day off to a great start. We both loved chatting with them about the places they have traveled and figuring out the best spots for us to venture off to. Overall, this was way better than any hotel stay I've ever had and we were very sad to leave! We hope to make it back when it's a little warmer and are thrilled to hear that Robyn and Brian want us back! Thanks again for your warm hospitality and beautiful space that you shared with us.

  • My good friend and I came to Victoria to visit my daughters who are attending UVic. We wanted something different than a hotel and came across Brian and Robyn's place and decided to give it a try. It was even better than we had hoped. The room is clean and spacious and cozy. Each morning, we were brought a tray with fresh muffins and fruit. The room was well supplied with coffee and tea, milk and juice and an assortment of cereals. Each morning my friend and I sipped on hot coffee, watching the ocean out our window and caught up on our lives. We spend the day out and about and came home in the evening to a very comfortable bed with the softest flannel sheets. Though Robyn was away while we were there, Brian was a wonderful host. I would highly recommend this place to anyone and truly hope I can come back again.

  • Robyn & Brian were very quick to reply to my short-notice request. My Mom and I were vacationing in Tofino together and Mom needed a relaxing place to stay in Victoria before her flight back home. Mom was so grateful for the unique accommodation in Victoria and shared with me the following review, "Robyn and Brian's home was such a beautiful place - very peaceful and relaxing - and was in a perfect location. I would love to return and spend more time there. Robyn and Brian were excellent hosts. They shared their favourite local sushi place and gave helpful directions to the airport for the early morning drive. The room had all the amenities she needed and the clawfoot tub was a treat!" - Thanks, Robyn and Brian, for making my Mom's last night on the Island such a great experience :).

  • Robyn and Brian offer what every traveler longs to find - a comfy, beautiful room that is immaculately clean, all the little details about what to do, to see and where to eat, delightfully luxurious and homey all at the same time. We enjoyed a place to sit and enjoy the outstanding local vista, genuinely friendly hosts who enjoy sharing tales and a laugh, as well as respect privacy. The accommodation was perfect - fresh fruit, coffee/tea options, juice, warm muffins at the door in the morning, slippers if you like, and current books or magazines. Such lovely attention to detail plus a perfect location for exploring. For us, this was a highlight of the trip.
Thank you so much Robyn and Brian for sharing your wonderful home.
BTW- We really did find the room key before you noted it was missing. Not sure how that got into Rudy's pocket... So glad we did not have to face the Key Police at the Coho ;)

  • Robyn and Brian's place couldn't be more perfect. A lovely room with an incredible view over the Straits of San Juan de Fuca to the Olympic Mountains. Amazing. Their house is in a great neighborhood, our favorite walk in Victoria is outside their front door, and less than ten minutes to downtown. Robyn and Brian are kind, gracious, warm, and deeply know Victoria. They bailed us out BIG TIME by lending us a powercord for out laptop so we could present the workshop we were in Victoria to lead.

We're rooted in Victoria, B.C. and come from careers in journalism and editing. Brian is semi-retired now, while Robyn continues to work as an editor. In our spare time, we love spending time outdoors, hiking the oceanfront trails, biking through the countryside and getting together with friends and family. We've met some incredible people on our travels, shared a lot of great times and look forward to many more. We've loved our experiences as guests of airbnb hosts around the world, so we decided to become hosts ourselves. We've tried to create a space that we ourselves would look for -- a room with beautiful ocean views and all the fixings to allow for an independent, private and peaceful stay. We've enjoyed meeting our many interesting guests and welcoming them to our great city.
