The Space

A comfortable apartment with everything at your disposal: a fully furnished kitchen, wifi inside and outside, swimming pool, bbq area and a laundry room.

The apartment has a double bed room, one bathroom and a living room with kitchenette and a very comfortable sofa-bed for two.

The weekly change of linen is included in the price, and so is the swimming pool (which catches the sun's rays from dawn till dusk!).

You are welcome to savour the natural beauty and abundance of the 10.000 m² of green areas that are close to your apartments.
What is more, you can have a stroll through our 40-hectare park.
We are located on a crest, far away from the heat and the noise, immersed in a green, unspoiled countryside.
Here you can enjoy a breathtaking scenery, with magnificent views ranging from the Monte Amiata to Montalcino, to Pienza, and to the profile of the metalliferous hills; from the Trasimeno Lake to the Subasio; and from the Umbrian-Marchigian Appenine to the Cosentino.
Siena, Perugia, Arezzo, Florence, and Orvieto, Tuscany’s major cultural art cities, are only within an hour’s reach.

Guest Access

We have a huge barbecue area with a big table and 8 chairs, where you can make use of juniper, cypress and pine wood for a grand barbecue. There is the laundry with the washing machine and soap, there is a children playground, the wifi inside and outside, the pool, etc.

Interaction with Guests

The apartment has one book with some information about il Casalone and Montepulciano, about the Terme and markets, information about restaurants and places to visit, about the food, about the wine...
Anyway we are always at your disposal.

Other Things to Note

  • Il Casalone was the perfect home base for part of our Tuscan tour. The room was clean and inviting. Paolo had stocked the kitchen with some essentials, which was very much appreciated. Paolo provided great information and resources to guide our time in the area. The views from around the property are breath-taking. It was only a short drive from Montepulciano, which was one of our favorite hill towns. A word of advice: get good directions before you go. It wasn't especially hard to find. However, we were relying on our GPS to get us there; and while it got us to the correct road, it wasn't much help after that. A note on the apartment: heat consumption is not included in the price of the apartment. Not important for those summer travelers, but it added almost 30 euro to our 2 night stay in March.

  • My brother and I stayed with Paolo and had a wonderful time. It rained hard the entire time we were there so we didn't get to take advantage of the pool, but the apartment was great, with big windows. Paolo and his parents were wonderful hosts. We would love to go back and stay during sunnier weather!

  • A desirable and perfectTuscany experience! Beautiful farm 2km from central montepulciano and a quick drive to surrounding towns. Best to have a car. Accommodation Is comfortable, clean, very spacious and Paolo and his family are incredibly helpful... At your service really. The apartments have everything you need: coffee, olive oil, vinegar, milk, (email hidden)d everything to cook with. The pool is beautiful with incredible panoramic view. Enjoy the wooden BBQ... Cooks the best beef steaks around!

5 star experience over all. Thank you Paolo. We will be back!

  • Great family run farm. Accomadation was spacious, comfortable and a great location to discover Southern Tuscany. From this property we were close to Montepulciano, Pienza, Montalcino and were able to reach Cortona in 35 minutes via car. Paolo was kind and accomadating. It was very nice to arrive and find our fridge and cabinet stocked with the necessities (i.e. butter, coffee, milk, water, jam, crackers, cookies etc...). Altogether, a very pleasant experience.

  • We were extremely happy with our apartment at the Agrioturismo and the friendly host. Check was a breeze and the location was just a short distance from town, but a world away. The views were breathtaking and the apartment was spacious, clean and comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked with dishes and cookware. Many food items provided for our breakfast were from the farm, such as honey and jam. And we had use of the shared garden to round out our meals. I would highly recommend these accommodations and would stay here again if given the opportunity.

  • Our stay at this agriturismo went beautifully. We stayed in apartment 5, a spacious unit with a living area and a separate bedroom. The fridge and pantry were nicely stocked with essentials (water, milk, butter, homemade jams, olive oil, balsamic...), and the room was clean and inviting.

The grounds itself are gorgeous with great access to many nearby must-see locations, including Montepulciano, Pienza, and Cianchiano). We had access to a pool, bbq area, washing machine, and free wifi, not too mention the beautiful views of the countryside.

Paolo is a fantastic and attentive host, with helpful advice for touring the area and dead-on recommendations for restaurants in the area.

We had a hell of a time! Thanks Paolo!

  • We stayed in Apartment 3 - an open plan living/dining/ room with kitchen facilities (gas hob, table top oven/grill, kettle and toaster, fridge with freezer compartment) a large bedroom with a comfortable bed and lots of storage, plus separate WC, basin, shower and bidet. All linen, including towels, is provided. Free wifi is a bonus!

It was good to find the fridge stocked with milk, water, butter etc and also other things in the cupboard - toasts, home-made marmalade, condiments etc, so we didn't have to go out shopping straight away. There are food shops, including two supermarkets, at Montepulciano just a short drive away.

Il Casalone has a lovely pool with loungers, play area for small children, BBQ, sitting out areas with wonderful views, laundry room and outdoor drying facilities as well as a shaded car parking area. Sadly for us, the weather was unseasonably cool, windy and wet so we weren't able to enjoy all these facilities. However, Paolo's father turned the heating on for us, so we were warm inside!

The complex is well located to explore the hill towns of Montepulciano, Pienza, San Quirico, Montalcino nearby, La Foce garden, and the stunning countryside of Val D'Orca and the Crete Senesi - a photographers dream! Siena and Firenze are close enough for a day visit.

Paolo is a charming host, ready to help with suggestions, information and deal with any problems.

We hope to return one day, when the weather is warmer and the sun shines for longer!
