Thank you for a wonderful stay! May I have your delicious bread recipe? I'll be dreaming of it for some time!
Ane Marie was a wonderful host! Her place was perfect for our stay and an easy walk into town. Breakfast was delicious and the views of the city were breath taking. She also helped us out when our other travel plans fell through. Definitely recommend staying here!!
If you want to stay in one of the best houses in Tromsø this is the place! The amazing 19th century property is situated 10 minutes from the airport and has stunning views of the harbour and main town from the top of the hill. Ane Marie is one of the most charming and sophisticated hosts I've had the pleasure of meeting. We felt we were part of her family, homemade bread for the most incredible breakfast I've tasted is a must! Need I say more.... Yes the northern lights appeared over the house on the second day we stayed... A truly magical experience that I will never forget in my whole life.
Ane Marie's house was beautiful. very warm and cozy-- perfect for the Arctic weather! She and her husband are lovely people, very accommodating and made sure we had the best experience possible. Her house was my best stay yet! Can't wait to make it back in the spring to see lovely tromso covered in green!
We had a wonderful time in Ane-Marie's house. It is so lovely and warm (important as we were there at the end of December). The house has a beautiful view of Tromso, and is the perfect spot for watching the New Year's Eve fireworks. It is a 5-10 minute-walk from the town centre - make sure you have the right shoe equipment if you go there in winter as the path to the house is quite steep and treacherous when there is snow and ice.
Unfortunately we didn't get to meet Ane-Marie but she answered all our questions via email very quickly and despite her absence, she still managed to make us feel welcome somehow. Would definitely recommend her house.
- Great house - Tasteful and cosy Scandinavian feel.
- Very welcoming host
- Lots of good suggestions for things to see and do
- Perched on a small hill side, the house offers views right across town to the mountains across the fjord. Near the town centre so perfect for exploring.
- Lovely breakfast - nice music
- Visited in December - lot's of candles everywhere - and wonderful smell of baking.
- Very cosy room in the attic - perfect for the two of us.
- A bit of a trek to the bathroom, but no real issue in the grand scheme of things

I am norwegian. I am working at the University in the arctic north of Norway. I have an international job, so I travel quite a lot. I love art, jazz music and enjoy to ski and sylke. I am open, quiet, and entusiastic about meeting new people and see new places around the world.
I speak well english, although my language is norwegian.
