We really enjoyed our family trip down to Venice! The apartment was quiet and comfortable. It is a good location, close to the beach, shops, restaurants and a Whole Foods. We did walk to dinner a couple of nights with the kids. Janin was very responsive when I texted her once to give her an ETA and then again when the toilet backed up and we couldn't find a plunger. she sent someone down and it was all taken care of in about 30 minutes. There are a few items that could be tended to, the light above the table didn't work (or wasn't connected?) nor did the one above the bathroom vanity. The walls could use a lick of paint. None of this would detour us from coming back. This is a great place for a reasonable price!
The lodgings were clean, though the photos have certainly enhanced the appeal.
My wife and I took one double bed and our girls took the other, but we had to swap as the bed we had chosen had an unsupportive mattress which was not good on our backs. Though the other bed kept waking us up as it was very squeaky!
We arrived to find another family in our apartment which was no fault of theirs as the instructions were ambiguous. And even with the owners there it was a little while for them to sort out the confusion.
The next morning we found a parking fine on our hire car. Apparently the whole side of the street had to be cleared earlier as it was bin day, something the owners (who clearly saw us arrive in a vehicle) did not make us aware of, nor did their house manual warn us of.
The toilet did not flush properly and on our second day just stopped flushing all together. They had obviously had previous issues with it as there was a sign on it telling us not to flush other items such as women's sanitary pads (of which we had complied with). I sent the owners an email in hopes they would have it fixed but they did not respond and so we had no toilet to use.
We found the owners pleasant enough but completely unhelpful.
I would not recommend this accommodation as we found it a shocker. The previous Airbnb place we had rented was so much better than this one. And the owner was so accommodating. Whereas this address was the complete opposite.
Do yourselves a favour and shop around as this one is a dud!!!
I am so sorry you found our apartment so unsatisfying. I have never had a complaint about the beds, but that can be such a personal thing, some people harder mattresses. Also I have not heard them squeaking. I will check on that and have it tightened asap!
I never did revive an email from you. Not one, even about check in. You did see that I live right next door and never brought the pluming to my attention.
As far as the parking, there are many street signs, and a note about it in the apartment. I am sorry if you got a ticket.
Very nice, and exceptionally clean apartment. Everything worked. The hostess kindly allowed us to leave our luggage before check-in (who knew that we would get through LA traffic so quickly?). Located in a very interesting neighborhood, close to (but not right on) the beach. However, only two actual beds, and no real parking on premises. We were able to find parking on the street, but beware the street sweeping! I am glad I read the reviews beforehand, so that I could ask about it. Before going, be sure that you understand that the nights can be cool (you wouldn't think so in that location). When we asked for extra blankets, we were told that it was not possible, so bring warm jammies if you are a cold sleeper like me! Also, be aware that the floors above are squeaky (we brought white noise machines, so it didn't bother us).
Lovely casual hosts and very easy to deal with. Apartment was very clean and had all that you needed. Excellent location. Would stay again. Thanks Tiffany and Janin
The place is 10 minutes walking to Abbot Kinney and the beach, so the location is nice. The apartment was clean and everyone was comfortable (we had 3 people in our group). The kitchen was also well equipped with utensils and glassware for miscellaneous meals. No central air was a little challenging for us given the record high temps during our stay. Given the unit is on the lower level of a two level building, there was some noise from upstairs that could be heard at various hours of the day and night. We did not spend a lot of time there so it wasn't too much of a bother. The pictures are very accurate, with a little bit of the expected wear and tear from regular rental use. Overall very good value for the price paid and a decent location.
Short walk to Venice beech and shops. A very comfortable apartment with all you need for the stay provided. It was grand having facilities to wash our clothes at the back end of our trip. Tiffany and Janin our helpful hosts had left very clear notes and guides. Great 2 days.

I am from Venice, California. I am in real estate although I have worked in education also. I like reading, swimming (ocean), traveling, gardening, bike riding, dancing, Yoga. I am not a big party person - although I did go to Burning Man last year. That was quite an adventure!. I recommend it highly. Just drink lots of water and be prepared for the dust!
I have two children, one is a software engineer in San Francisco and the other is in art school. I have a cat and my brother's dog occasionally visits - with or with out the brother.
A few years ago I took my kids to NY and we found a cool East Village apartment on Craig's list but Craig's list can be a little dicey so I thought I tried Airbnb this last trip. I had such a great experience with Airbnb in New York that I decided to list an apartment I have in Venice when I came back. My sister in law, Tiffany, lives in the same building and we are working on this project together.
I was going to list books I like but that would be a really long list... How about favorite movie? Chinatown
Travel - love Venice, Italy, and Paris of course, and Mexico. And Museum Island in Berlin. And tropical beaches, well, any mountain or beach, actually. And Horses.
Tiffany is a hard working mom by day, and a knitter by night. I love going the extra mile to put a smile on our guest' faces. I am a 6 or 7th generation born in SoCal, on my Mom's side.
I have 2 dogs, that I love to death! I am a homebody! I love baking and trying new gluten free foods! I am 100% obsessed with all things Pretty Little Liars! The only time its hard to get in touch with me is when Pll is on TV!
My family comes first always! I am so happy being a mother to one amazing little girl, and I try to be the best wife I can! Having a close connection with family is really important to me!
I went to a Waldorf school, so I like to think I can think out of the box, and I try to be as creative as I can be.
I would love to go back to Greece and Germany. A dream vacation would be Fiji.
We are friendly, flexible, knowledgeable and will try to answer any questions you have about Venice and the surrounding areas whether or not you book with us.
