Pukeko Retreat is the place to be if you want a peaceful and truly enjoyable time with your loved ones. We thought the house pics looked beautiful but when we arrived it was actually stunning.. it's such a unique place and so secluded but close to the city at the same time (only 10mins away and 20-30 to the main thermal attraction).
Jude keeps the place very tidy and ready for you to use. The pantry is full of awesome goodies she invites you to use (and add to if you leave things behind) and the kitchen is a joy! if you love cooking, you'll enjoy it as much as we did.
On top of this all, the scones gossip is true! we arrived to a tray of homemade shortbread cookies and tea/coffee.
This place is a must go for anyone passing by Rotorua. You will only regreat not having stayed longer.
Thanks Jude! You are a star of a host.
Our group of five loved "Pukeko Retreat" We were a bit worried at the 15 min drive out from the center of town but when we arrived we were all very happy. Exactly what we love. Gorgeous panoramic views, quiet, night skies away from light, etc. We all said we wish we had a couple more days just to stay without going to town!
What a fantastic place to stay! Only 10 minutes from all the sights in Rotorua (and the supermarkets), but feeling miles away in a beautiful setting and travelling via a gravel road!
The house is modern and very well maintained, with a lovely garden - loved the herbs and flowers - and Jude provides everything you want to feel pampered: nice linen and towels, immaculately clean, clear instructions on host requirements and fresh flowers and scones for that extra welcoming touch.
My family and I (3 large boys) stayed at this wonderful home in a spectacular location. If you are looking for fun and excitement in Rotorua you could not find a better spot. Close enough to everything but far enough away from the sulphur zone! The home is really comfortable and a great place to unwind after a hectic day.
Just perfect. We wanted a quiet country retreat, which was close to Rotorua and the mountain bike parks.
Jude kept in contact and on arrival we found that she had baked some scones and biscuits for us.
Instructions were 100%.
Clean, warm and very comfortable.
A recommendation might be to look at the shower pressure in both bathrooms. The water was plentiful and powerful out of all of the taps but the showers must have been on a go slow:)
We were a party of 5 and cooked all of our meals at the retreat which enhanced our family gathering.
We would definitely go there again.
Me and my family we were traveling in New Zealand for 3 weeks.
We stay at Pukeko Retreat for two nights and it was our best stay in all new Zealand! The house was amazing (exactly as you can see in the pictures), it was very clean, with a big kitchen and confortable. It was a perfect stay!
If you are looking for a amazing landscape, calm and confortable house it´s the best choise.
Thank you Jude, if we can, we will come again!
