This is a bright, comfortable room in a homely, clean, much-loved two-bed North London flat (N8). Very convenient and easy access to public transport. To share with one, easy going guy (me). The dog in the picture is not mine, so you're unlikely to meet him if you stop by.. The place is modest on the outside and lovely on the inside (the room would probably suit someone with similar qualities!).
I love travelling and meeting interesting people from all over the world, which is why I let this room inexpensively, and only for short periods..
Excellent transport links to central London and the city are just 3 minutes walk away. Direct link to Heathrow and straight-forward links to other airports.
The local underground station is Turnpike Lane on the Piccadilly line for quick access to Kings Cross and central London. There is also an overground station and excellent bus links (24 hours a day) just 3-4 minutes walk away.
This is apparently the most cosmopolitan borough in Europe with shops, bars and inexpensive restaurants nearby. (including some amazing curry houses / take aways - handy when you feel like eating at home, but don't feel like cooking). Sydney road is quiet, and also parallel to a busy high street with shops, a traditional pub etc..Inexpensive grocery shopping is 3 minutes away, and open 24/7.
The underground is the quickest way to move around in London, but if you'd like to see where you're going - Frequent Bus Routes include these and many more:
29 to Camden Town, Leicester Square and Trafalgar Square/Charing Cross station.
141 to London Bridge Station.
41 to Tottenham Hale station (fast rail connection to Stanstead Airport).
67 to Dalston/Hoxton/Hackney
I love this area. I enjoy good food, wine, beer, interesting places and people. I have a car, so if you're exploring London, time permitting, I may be able to show you a couple of good spots off the usual tourist track.. (If you plan to arrive late at night, I may be able to pick you up from the airport / train station, depending on what else I have on at the time..)
The room can be laid out with a single, double or two single beds. There's a communal garden here and fast wireless connection. The lounge has a large screen and I like to watch films every now and then, sometimes with friends and a glass or two of wine.
Occasionally we may have 1-2 people staying in the living room.
A few people asked, so yes - there is a hair dryer and fresh towels in the room!:)
Exceptionally, I can accommodate up to four people (as there is a double-sofa-bed in the living room).
Any questions - please ask!
This was my first experience with Airbnb and I couldn't have asked for a better one! Guy was very nice, courteous and always in a good mood. He took us to the cinema, for a drink and we met some of his friends, who were just as nice. The house is very close to the underground and a lot of shopping facilities are just a 5 minute walk away.
The room was very nice and we could sleep comfortably.
The only thing that bothered me was that the tube to central London was quite expensive, because the stop nearest to Guy was in zone 3, but that is, by any means, not Guys fault.
So, all in all I would definitely recommend staying with Guy!
P.s. You still don't have me completely converted to english tea ;-)
Guy is a really awesome guy and even though I didn't have the chance to chat a lot, he was really helpful and hospitable! The room (and house in general) was as advertised, and very close to the underground station. I would definitely stay there again!
Please see my reviews on other listings. Shortly, Guy is not only a friendly, respectful, and intriguing person, but also a host that will ensure your stay is fantastic.
although Guy was on vacation in turkey during the time i stayed at his place he was very helpful beforehand and arrange a friend to meet me and give me the keys. it is really just minutes to the tube station and you can be in oxford circus a bit over 20 minutes!
great places close by as well as a grocery shop and a costas. would stay again and can highly recommend it!
I stayed with Guy for nearly 3 weeks, mainly in the extra bedroom, but also a few nights in the master and common room. Succinctly, it was one of the best living experiences that I have ever have. Guy is not only a friendly, respectful, and intriguing person, but also a host that will ensure your stay is fantastic.
In addition, the area itself is the image of London, quintessentially British and a diverse international community.
When just considering these aspects, all the other reviewable topics seem to fall by wayside. But to rehash from previous reviews, the room itself is clean, comfortable, walkable, accessible, etc..As far as a distinguishable hospitality aspect, Guy has an amazing cappuccino maker, which
he graciously made several days. He also had various treats available from Turkish baklava to East Indian sweets.
Guy is a special person, very friendly and helpful, he makes you feel at home! The area also Is really nice and well connected with the center of London! Really perfect!
Guy is the best, now he is a big friend, I loved living there for one week, the house is confortable and everything you need is there. I was like home sweety home :)
Without a doubt - the best choice! If you stay here you will do it again when be in London :)
Although it was short, I had a wonderful stay at Guy's apartment. Guy is super friendly and a wonderful host he made me feel right at home. He was very flexible with check-in and check-out times and was happy to work around my plans. The apartment was very clean and the bathroom has a wonderful shower. My room was a lovely space for me to relax in and the bed was very comfy. The apartment is in a quiet area but it's also very easy to get into central London. Overall I had a great stay and would happily recommend this accommodation.
Guy is an amazing host! He is very kind and initiative person! He is a briliant man and is concerned about everything that happens in the world thats why it was very interesting and useful to communicate with him! During our stay in London for about 11 days he was found to be very helpful, even showing to us very special places. We felt extreamly comfortable at his tidy cozy very nice place! We realy hope to see him again either in Moscow or in London! So we highly recommend Guy as a very relyable host so that to have such a wonderful travelling to London as we had!
